LucidChart, Great for quick visuals and collaboration

  • November 23, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
LucidChart is a great tool for the basic diagram needs. It has an easy to use interface and simple sharing and collaboration options. It's especially helpful when you need to get visual concepts across in an iterative manner where you don't need to rely on everyone having the right software to view and edit ... and let's not even talk about issues with version control.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is one of those tools that I use for specific cases, so there isn't much I dislike; I know where it fits for me and that's when I use it. There are basic things like granular control of positioning that could be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This helps when there are complex concepts or processes that I need to describe through visual language. Collaboration is also a very helpful feature.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For now I would say understand what you need to tool to do and make sure it's feature set aligns with those needs. I also wouldn't worry about 100% alignment; for me if it does 85% of what I need, that's usually good enough to pull the trigger.

Great for brainstorming

  • November 09, 2016

What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can "see" my ideas with a colleague on line. It's like our virtual whiteboard
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that it's a bit hard to connect things. Lines sometimes appear where I don't want them!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucid charts allows me to work virtually with a colleague
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to learn it. When I slow down to understand it, it works better for me.

My company uses Lucidchart to generate charts and create workflows/

  • November 09, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like the most about Lucidchart is that I am able to show the process/steps for a job or task using a professional-looking flowchart.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think that sometimes Lucidchart is slow, and I think that it seriously detracts from the great aspects of the program. Lag in any system translates to user frustration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
What we realized was that simply listing steps is in no way as beneficial to most users as visualization!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to find a standard template that works for you or your company and stick to it!

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use of the interface, Quick and beautiful charts. Integration with google drive and google tools. Excellent mobile apps
What do you dislike about the product?
Limitations in the free version (limited number of files and shapes), and princing for unlimited
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Technical engineering diagrams
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Very good tool for online diagram design and sharing. Might be worth the price if you company make and extensive use of diagrams. For my type of use, it has all the features required.

Solid Entry for Fast Diagramming and Flowcharts

  • September 22, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This product is very simple to use; beginners are able to log in and create very clear and concise diagrams of even complex systems within minutes. It is simple to create a diagram, select from a very large variety of diagramming icon sets (enough to cater for nearly any type of diagram you need), have other users collaborate on the diagram if necessary, then export the result to a format that can be used externally.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are perhaps too many options for icon sets, some times it takes a long time to find the sets that you're looking for, perhaps some better meta data searching would vastly improve this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to write better system and data diagrams has helped our development team become more cohesive and enhanced our ability to fast track new members joining the team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommended, very fast return on investment, users get moving very quickly and are able to produce quality diagrams.

Bye Bye Visio

  • June 09, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Lucidcharts is simple to use and is easy to ignore the less used features that are distracting in other process diagraming tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
The transition to Lucidcharts took a bit longer than I had anticipated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lower cost to entry for process flow tools.

A valid tool for charting

  • April 22, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The templates are very useful to build up a complex chart in minutes
What do you dislike about the product?
If you switch to a free account (from a premium) you cannot even see the previous documents
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The chart have been very useful for the Software design process, and also they are great for documents that explain software architecture and flows.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I do not have much experience with other charting tools but Luchidchart was valid enough for me, I recommend it mostly for team usage.

    Medical Practice

Simple but efficient

  • March 29, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that LucidChart is rather intuitive when it comes to building flowcharts. Items snap to the right angles, visually it provides very logical guidelines, and its just plain easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that the text options are somewhat limited. For example, there is no way for me to put a less than or equals sign that isn't "<=", which doesn't work for a professional chart going into a publication. I also wish there were more options for exporting, specifically eps format.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm using this to build figures for a paper on hospital logistics that I will be submitting for review soon. Since I work with a wide array of professionals - physicians, engineers, computer scientists - LucidChart has been very handy as a web-based platform. No new programs to learn for everyone!
