Lightweight way to collaborate on workflows
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use UI. Modules for templates allow for extra shapes, layouts, etc. are great for expanding what type of information is needing to be shown. Ability to export to non-licensed users makes for simple insertion into slide decks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Inability to specify default shape libraries for new documents. Ability to change tab colors and/or hide tabs from view would be great, similar to how spreadsheet tabs can work in Google Sheets or Excel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Can easily mock up workflows and change them on the fly when talking with clients. Faster turnaround time for workflow creation and opportunity time to close.
The Power of Visualization
What do you like best about the product?
Translating my ideas into slick visuals with simplicity is the key to communicating the complex and LucidChart helps me do just that. Our team has appreciated the ability to quickly and succinctly communicate their ideas in this manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
Every once in a while, when I open a saved document, the images or the boxes or the lines have moved slightly and I have to go back through and fix them. This mostly happens with documents we've pulled in from Visio.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using LucidChart to build current and forecasted org charts, for venn diagrams, as well as to draft workflows. We've also placed simple floor plans into the system at this point. We've found that LucidChart can address many of our visual needs without the complexity and cost of training someone on Visio.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be careful not to ramp up too quickly. You may only need 5-10 people to use this software at a large company even though you think you may need more seats. After using LucidChart for 5 years we've found that controlling the number of people that have access and ensuring that they are in fact power users of the system is better than having too many people have access to the system where most of them are moderate to weak users.
Good and Resourceful Cloud Based Mapping
What do you like best about the product?
It's very nice to have web and app-based access to the maps, making mapping efficient and non-location-based as done more traditionally. The enablement of remote teams is incredibly effective, couldn't be done the same way without LucidChart.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface can be a bit buggy and laggy sometimes, not as smooth or responsive as with standalone software. I can get quite slow when dealing with big, complex maps.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem of mapping and doing workshops with remote, decentralized teams. The related benefit is to invest less time preparing workshop sessions and consolidating materials or deliverables after workshops.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's quite simple to use if you have used previous mapping software like Visio, the learning curve shouldn't be a problem for diagramming experienced users. Consider the number of licenses you will need as no collaboration is allowed without a license. Plan in detail how you expect to store maps and make them accessible to the company as there won't be files you can arrange in local or server units, unless you plan to export all of them which won't give edition abilities.
Easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
It's simple to use and easy to create charts and diagrams. Its collaborative feature is also one of the best reasons to use lucidchart.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's overly simplified for designers like myself, but it does do the job.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Translating stakeholder requirements into a logical flow so that we can find alignment amongst the team. The lucid chart will to help to identify gaps and opportunities.
Just the tool I needed
What do you like best about the product?
I was looking for a tool to make my own flowchart and didn't think it existed... Lucidchart is easy to use and perfect for making a customized flowchart that can expand and grow in any way you please.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that I find a little frustrating with lucidchart is that typing directly into the bubbles can be hard to format correctly. I typically will copy and paste from Google docs. Not the worst problem, but could be fixed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Lucid hart to build a talking track for sales calls. I found a doc was too linear and hard to navigate quickly on a call. Now I can easily move around my flowchart to find all the information I'm looking for.
Lucidchart review!
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to link external docs and websites from flows. Link sub flow to sub flow.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be challenging to align direction arrows to center of boxes, snap to fit and alignment
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documenting existing process flows, enhancement projects, future state process flows, org charts
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely worth the try if using other tools. Super easy to use
There is a learning curve but once you get the hang of it, the possibilities are endless.
What do you like best about the product?
I love how user-friendly the platform is. I can drag and drop everything very easily. So much of the formatting is done automatically too which helps me save a lot of time.
What do you dislike about the product?
When I use Lucidchart, I almost always am using arrows. The arrows are such a great and important feature but I've grown very frustrated with them sometimes. They don't always listen to me and sometimes they pop up when I don't need them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm working on a project where I have to blueprint everything before actually entering them into Salesforce Marketing Cloud. We don't have all the data, so we can't mock these automations and journeys in Marketing Cloud, thus Lucidchart has been very helpful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take some time to learn the platform!
I work in lucid chart daily to collaborate with team members / communicate key topics
What do you like best about the product?
collaboration with team members on people, process, technology
What do you dislike about the product?
preselected templates wish there were a few more options (different items for process flows)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
documentation
Recommendations to others considering the product:
none
Process Mapping and Sprints
What do you like best about the product?
Process map collaboration and sprint templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not enough features to map the process in detail. Sluggish.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
highly collaboration. Real time team collaboration get the work done with virtual team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For collaboration, the LucidChart is better compared to MS Visio.
Humphrey's review
What do you like best about the product?
Lucidchart helps my team visualize what's normally hard to communicate verbally or in words. The UI is pretty simple to use and there's not a steep learning curve.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the connectors don't bend / flex the way that I'd like them to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're diagraming code flow and architectural design. It's very easy to depict how a system will look like and what conditions / branches are in play. We're able to look at things from a higher level.
