A powerful all-in-one collaborative diagrama tool
What do you like best about the product?
This is a great all-in-one for quickly making visually appealing diagrams.
What I like the most is the collaboration features. Adding comments and creating threads around this makes it easier to provide feedback, assign tasks and track changes within the diagrams without going outside and losing relevant feedback.
Another outstanding feature I loved is the file status, as it is really helpful for creating an approval flow and document versions.

Lucid is Great for Agile work and some ERD work.
What do you like best about the product?
Lucid has some great capabilities for Agile flows especially in sprint retrospectives. Firstly, it has great jira integration. Lucid can import Jira tickets and convert items to Jira it is a nice addition to the Agile work flow. Secondly, it makes it really easy to prioritize tasks as a team by using Visual Activities. For instance if you want to get feedback from the team of which items they think is most important you can have each team member rank order the items in terms of priority. Visual activities will then collect the results from all team members and then do a group ranking. This can allow you to get very quick feedback on what the team thinks is the most important task to work on or the most important improvement. Due to the Agile support we are now using the tool regulalry for our sprint retrospectives.
Lucid also has some capabilities for supporting ERD diagrams which is very helpful if you work with data. Currently I have been using it to create Entities with their Keys, Names and types. We are connecting the entities using the crow foot connections to indicate the relationships between the various entities. We have been using it normalize the data that we have splitting entities into more entities to be reviewed as a team. The benefit of Lucid is that we can collaborate as a team and also share a link to review the work. When we are done we will be able to generate the SQL for the database to use.

What do you dislike about the product?
The main shortcoming I found with Lucid in the ERD was when trying to import raw SQL into an ERD diagram. Currently lucid supports PostGres, MySQL, MS SQL and Oracle. Since we use Redshift there is not a straight forward way to easily import the SQL. Better yet it would be good if you could simply copy your CREATE TABLE statement and have Lucid convert it into an ERD. However, if you are creating an ERD from scratch then these issues may not be as important. I hope Lucid considers adding this feature as it would make it easier to update existing SQL that are in an existing database.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Lucid to solve 2 problems. The first is to improve our sprint retrospectives. It allows for quick voting on issues as a team allowing us to easily prioritize items that should be improved. Also due to the nice jira integration we can both import jira issues and export items in lucid back as Jira issues. Also we are using it to do some ERD modelling. Lucid allows us to more easily collaborate when we are doing ERD diagrams, creating the various entities and connecting them together. Also it allows us to export those entities into SQL which saves us time.
