Versatile Tool with Room for Performance Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I think Smartsheet's closeness to Excel makes it easy to pick up. It's quite straightforward to build out sheets and build your own forms. The report function is really cool, and the ability to easily group and filter out datasets or sheets is quite helpful. The reports allow you to combine information from multiple sheets in a user-friendly wizard-like way, making it much more user-friendly than Excel. The ability to group information is really cool, and my favorite part of reports is they're interactive. So, if I update something in a report, it updates in the underlying sheet.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think it's often slow and does not feel like a snappy piece of software. It has some quirks and limitations at times. It handles formulas and stuff in a different way than Excel, so it takes some time to get used to. I often notice performance issues like big sheets are slow to load. The UI does not look as good as some of its competitors like ClickUp or Monday. It just doesn't look as slick nor feels as nice to use. For simple things, the setup is fine, but for anything more complex, like a big project portfolio, you need to engage implementation services for sure.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet provides a central hub for our project management, allowing us to have dashboards and analytics to understand project status. We use it as a partner portal too, creating a channel system for each of our partners.
Real-Time Collaboration and Easy Drag-and-Drop Reordering
What do you like best about the product?
I like how you can collaborate and it updates in real-time. I also love that you can drag and drop rows for was reordering
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing structure was a bit too steep for us so unfortunately we had to transition to share point.

It was a great place for me to manage my social content calendar and collaborate with my teammates

What do you like best about the product?
I love using Smartsheet for project tracking and task management. It makes it easier to get the team aligned, and I find the dashboards and reports really helpful. They make sharing progress with senior managers simpler. Plus, the automation features save a lot of time.

The interface could be overwhelming.

Smartsheet: The Perfect Bridge Between Spreadsheets and Databases
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is widely considered one of the most helpful work management tools because it bridges the gap between the simplicity of a spreadsheet and the power of a database.
What do you dislike about the product?
No Autosave: This is arguably the most "least helpful" feature. You must manually click Save to see changes or for others to see your updates. If you forget and close the tab, your work can be lost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Single Source of Truth: Everyone works on the same live sheet simultaneously.
Audit Trails: You can see exactly who changed a specific cell and when, reducing accountability gaps and manual errors.

Spreadsheet Familiarity with Collaborative Power
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the spreadsheet style of work management in Smartsheet. It looks familiar to a spreadsheet, but each row can represent a particular task, project activity, or a process step. You can really add more columns to it for status, owner, deadlines, priority, etcetera, as per our requirement. With just a single click of a button, we can add, change, and edit everything, and it changes for everyone. It helps to collaborate better across different teams and departments.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think it's a really good tool overall, but sometimes Smartsheet does lag a bit and does not update in real time, which could be tricky for other team members working across different geographies or different markets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheet to plan projects and timelines, assign tasks, track progress, automate workflows, and collaborate across various departments.

What do you dislike about the product?
1) 2 persons can write at the same time without getting intimation. We should get real time update

Easy Data Sharing and Flexible Document Editing
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can access all the company data and share it with my coworkers without any issues. I also appreciate that the docs can be edited at any time, so it’s easy to make updates whenever needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn’t have many features for creating docs and sheets, and it seems to stay with the same options all the time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I like that we can access our compliance data and other business information while keeping private data protected and access secure.

Flexibility, robust reporting/dashboards, and ability to streamline complex workflows across teams without needing IT assistance.

Steep learning curve for advanced features, high licensing costs, and limited, non-dynamic dashboard customization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Eliminates reliance on multiple, disconnected spreadsheets and emails by creating a single "source of truth" for project data.
Smartsheet Makes Team Collaboration Easy and Excel-Like
What do you like best about the product?
Multiple team members can access the site easily with an account in addition to it's ease of use in general. If you are familiar with excel, it is very similar in nature, if not easier to navigate and use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say the biggest downside to smartsheet can be the load times. I work with a lot of sheets and there can sometimes be delays in the time it takes to load more heavily populated pages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Timeline management over multiple projects occurring during parallel and sometimes overlapping timelines.
Easy Checklists, Tasks, and Gantt Charts with SmartSheet
What do you like best about the product?
SmartSheet makes it easy to create checklists and send them off to people to share. It also allows you to set up tasks and easily create Gantt charts.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the only downside is that you can do just about the same thing with Excel saved on OneDrive, but SmartSheet allows you to do more and put up some better guardrails.

Sharing easy to use task lists with people, especially non technical people or those outside your org
