Good opportunity for managing projects and deadlines for higher education offices
What do you like best about the product?
I love the automation in which I can set reminders and updates to the necessary people so we can remain on top of our projects. I also love the proof function.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be difficult to include others who are not licensed users. Also, you cannot download proofs with edits for others to review/see.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping a team on track with projects so we don't lose them in our emails. It also helps us with managing agreements and contracts. The dashboard feature is nice.
An invaluable tool for project management & job tracking
What do you like best about the product?
How simple the sheets are the understand and integrate into your workflow. All of the tools used in the process of creating and maintaining a file are simple and intuitive. I have tried other similiar GANTT chart tools and none have been so simple to maintain and present to non-project management focused employees
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that predecessors column could be more intelligent when updating/deleting other predecessors. Some changes that would seem logical to a human brain can result in breaking a number of predecessors which is very frustrating
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking & maintaining 6+ month long projects to not only keep track of task progress but also to be able to update management on key milestone and delivery dates. This program saves me HOURS in the early stages of any project.
My experience with smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to have the sheets communicate with each other with automation. The formulas are easy to use and implement as they are similar to those used in excel.
What do you dislike about the product?
When multiple people are working on a sheet, it isn't live updated like google sheets. You have to save or refresh the sheet to see the updates or changes the other person made. This causes a delay, and we have found it easier to do a screen share in a meeting and have one person make changes to the sheet while everyone else offers suggestions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to track our progress, issues arising, time spent on each specific project, and goals and sales. We can see a measurable difference daily with the daily graphs in our dashboard.
Invaluable Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Smarthsheet greatly facilitates communications across multiple staff and workflows. This program allows me to keep communication about any project with the relevant project rather than grinding through mountains of emails in my inbox. In one Smarthseet I am able to display a quarter's worth of project deadlines, status, relevant links, etc. for my whole team. I find the use of Smartsheets survey capabilities for quick tracking of necessary program sign-ups, feedback, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Smartsheet didn't have to be exported to Excel, instead, would accept cut/paste of cells between Smarthseet and Excel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps me organize time member activities and communicate efficiently with my teams. The reporting options and dashboard help me display key metrics associated with key project elements.
Great product with useful managment tools
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of connecting data between sheets into reports and dashboards. Specific data can remain in its individual but the ability to combine a lot of information into one informative page that multiple users can access is great!
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike edit-sharing permissions. I feel that each sheet should have permission assigned to it vs just sharing a workspace with multiple people and giving them one access level. I commonly want one person to edit multiple sheets without sharing the entire workspace.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creates an organized system to assign and schedule tasks for myself and other team members. Communicate project info to customer and other while keeping all information in an easily accessible cloud.
Great Tool for Collaborating
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to create a useful tracker that our team can access anywhere, anytime.
What do you dislike about the product?
Columns can not be adjusted in the sheet to be able to add new information that does not align with the column headings. still need better ways to work within a sheet

we have a global team and as the Managing Editor it allows me to see all activities related to specific magazine issue.
Clean and Organized
What do you like best about the product?
The clean organization SmartSheet provides is extremely useful for collaborating and integrating with our team

The only thing I'd like for SmartSheet to upgrade is the ability to include attachments in an Excel export of a worksheet,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to track all of our project request intakes, assign them and track and monitor the progress of the project. It is also helpful for monitoring the number of projects each team member is responsible for.
Good option for auto approvals
What do you like best about the product?
Smart sheets provide a good and intuitive experience in creating flows that require approvals and need dynamic triggering rules.

What do you dislike about the product?
Smart sheets can be difficult to navigate within the spreadsheet. Unlike Google sheets and Excel workbooks, smart sheets formulas can be confusing to use and difficulty learn.
It is difficult to quickly manipulate data biggest issue smartsheet is creation of data visualization's. You have to create a separate workbook view to create each visualization which gets cumbersome overtime.

It's making it easier to collect data from people and send it up through a chain of approvals and automatically letting people know via email
Automated Reminder
What do you like best about the product?
The automated reminder helps to manage my deadlines and relieves work load. As part of a small company, I have multiple responsibilities. Smartsheet helps a lot from tracking small things to outputting the bigger picture when attaining goals.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is very similar to excel which is sometimes confusing when it comes to creating formulas and functions. SmartSheet also tends to lag when multiple users are using it.

The Automation function benefits my work a lot. It can send out reminders and updates for deadline.

What do you like best about the product?
It's a one-stop shop for all things project management. Our departments have been able to leverage many capabilities customized based on internal and external needs. Once you understand the platform's functionality, the tool is intuitive and easy to use. It is an excellent tool for our project managers and teams within all departments can access the information and data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet was introduced as a new platform for our teams. Because it is such a robust platform, it took some time to learn and understand how to use it, and it can still pose challenges when trying to navigate and find information.

Smartsheet has provided our teams with a single place to house data and information. It has helped create consistency in where and how teams track their work and projects. We have been able to leverage the dashboard views internally and externally so we can ensure projects are tracking in the right direction.
