Smartsheets is very collaborative!
What do you like best about the product?
I like the collaboration aspect of Smartsheet; you can collaborate with other users on the sheet simultaneously.
In addition, the Salesforce connector is vital for our reporting needs. To have live information flowing back and forth helps users outside of Salesforce have a view of our data. The same goes for the Hubspot connector.

It does not collaborate with Tableau.

Smartsheets help connect multiple business units into one system so that everyone can easily collaborate and have a full view of our data.
Smartsheet helps manage projects
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy and versatile the product is to use. In its simplest form, you enter your data into a spreadsheet. From there, you can choose the way to view your data that makes the most sense: as a grid, a gantt chart, a Kanban board, or a calendar. The versatility comes in the ability to add formulas to calculate values, integration with Microsoft 365, sharing via permissions, and project tracking and reporting. If you are willing to invest time and effort into learning the product, their is considerable power on tap.
What do you dislike about the product?
While it's easy to get started and if all you want to do is accomplish task management, the learning curve is minimal. But like any product with a heavy set of features, there needs to be an investment in learning and working with the product to get the most out of it. That part I don't mind. The part I do mind is that the product is not always intuitive. I've been using the product for years and there are still things I struggle with that should be simple, like finding my sheets. Navigation needs to be reworked. Smartsheet has made some effort to improve this over the years, but it's still a challenge. It's probably the number one frustration expressed by our users. The second issue is cost. Some integrations are included, but others cost hefty sums. In one instance, we wanted to connect Smarsheet to Jira, but we discovered that the integration for our small development team would cost more than the product itself. As another example, basic reporting is included, but more advanced reporting is an extra cost. Reporting is such an essential function of product management that I feel this should be included. I don't expect Smartseet to give away its product and services, but the pricing structure makes the product a difficult value proposition in some respects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Employees are expected to enter their KPIs into Smartsheet and track progress toward completion. These in turn are tracked against the organization's goals and mission. More recently, we've started using Smartsheet in Kanban mode to track our organization's largest projects, evaluating progress in weekly, all-staff standup meetings. Everyone can see what their contributions are, identify critical paths, monitor roadblocks, etc. From task management through "big picture" management, Smartsheet is helping to keep everyone--and every project--on track.
Comprehensive Project Management, Team Collaboration and Workflow Automation System
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how versatile Smartsheet is; I can customize columns and switch between views as needed. It's helpful when I'm trying to identify patterns in tasks or track progress over time, because I have an overall view of projects that allows me to analyze data at a glance. The automated reminders are also very useful to ensure everyone meets their deadlines! Overall, the convenience and organizational benefits that Smartsheet provides make it one of my favorite project management tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find Smartsheet's interface options to be extremely limiting when it comes to keeping track of information. Without external markers a la table borders, I often have difficulty identifying omissions and errors in data presentation. Additionally, the lack of an option that allows me to easily merge multiple tables for concise summaries is extremely frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet solves the problem of workflow automation, which has a number of benefits for me personally. By automating the transfer of data between departments and the collection of approvals, I'm freed from having to micromanage my projects every step of the way.
Powerful Organizational Tool with Workflow Automations
What do you like best about the product?
I find that the most useful part of Smartsheet is the collaboration, easy-to-review comments and attachments per row, and the various workflow automations that are available on the sheets.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how there are limitations on the VLOOKUP formulas, which means I'm forced to use the INDEX/COLLECT Formula. It really should implement a similar function to Excel's XLOOKUP formula, which is much easier to implement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves the issue of having to store large spreadsheet files on my local drive, and allows me to pull data easily from one sheet to another using column formulas and workflow automation to update row statuses.
Great Application for Big Companies
What do you like best about the product?
There are many many uses for this program. The ability to notify line by line updates to team members with a click of a button is quite helpful. Automations and Datamesh are two of my favorite uses.
What do you dislike about the product?
You are not able to just highlight a field and copy/paste like you would an excel document. the field has to be double clicked to get the actual data to copy. This can be mildly frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Real time updating and the ability for all of us to work in the same sheet at the same time can be really really helpful.
Works for multiple audiences with so many uses
What do you like best about the product?
I like that we are creating documents for different types of audiences in our company. We deliver overviews for retreats and use Smartsheet for our day-to-day project, budget, and staff management.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet is so customizable that it takes time to get familiar with all the range of uses and tools available. I would like to see more "hands-on" short video training.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can link all of our data to our dashboards. The system gives us enough flexibility with formulas that it achieves the same results as Excel but with more options for presentation and overviews of our results.
Daily Project Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the ability to view the project in different formats, ie. Gantt Chart, Calendar, or by sub-tasks. The update emails to the responsible parties and linkage to other projects or smartsheets is excellent.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although the detailed progress is recorded in the "conversations," the inability to see all the updates from a particular row in one concise summary is missing. I also wished that the system would connect well with some of the various ticketing systems that we use such as JIRA.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The project manager needs the ability to report to senior management on multiple complex projects as well as keep all the people responsible for smaller tasks up-to-date.
Collaboration tool in Global ERP system implementation
What do you like best about the product?
We use Smartsheet in a global ERP system implementation program. One of the main uses is to develop and execute cutover plans. It is a very good tool for collaboration when many people are involved. We never occur any access issues that you can see on other platforms and it is intitive to use for new users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Users has to create their own accounts. No single sign-on using company AD accounts. We also plan down to specific hours. The date field format cannot handle date and hour. That could be an improvement point.

Online collaboration and real time updates of status in during cutovers.
A Smarter, Happier Way to Manage Projects
What do you like best about the product?
As a tech-savvy individual, I find Smartsheet to be a highly user-friendly tool. What I particularly appreciate is the dashboard creation feature, which enables me to present data from my main tracker in a clear, concise, and visually engaging way
What do you dislike about the product?
What I find challenging about Smartsheet is the recent changes in permission access. Although I am one of the admins of our workspace and a designated 'Member', I encounter difficulties accessing certain folders where I lack editing permissions. Previously, as a licensed user, access was more flexible and not a concern. However, I recognize that these changes in permission settings are intended to enhance data security and accountability.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet addresses our challenges and benefits both me and my team through its centralized tracker, which provides a secure and effective way to manage our work in one place.
Easy to use and extremely useful!
What do you like best about the product?
I regularly use Smartsheets to build project timelines. With the ability to add predecessors, creating tons of complex schedules is quick and easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the only downsides is that it's not the best collaborative tool. Often, I have to refresh to see updates that a coworker has made on a document.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Smartsheet, I can have all project schedules live in one document that all my team members can access. Everyone can check the document at their leisure.
