Great product - more capabilities than Excel!
What do you like best about the product?
I like the AI tools available that make creating a formula for what I want nearly fool-proof. I also love that you can link cells in one sheet to a cell in another sheet - we use this to reference forms that are filled out by new hires.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the dashboard creation was a bit more user-friendly - it is one of the next items I want to be able to build myself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Smartsheets to track all the activities and tasks needed each time we open a new restaurant, and each time we hire a new field manager to our company. It helps to keep us organized, assigned contacts to each task, and give critical information in a one-stop shop.
Simple, efficient and effective.
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is easy to use, familiar to anybody who has used either MS Excel or Google Sheets. However, it is powerful enough to provide essential business functionality. It is incredibly useful to have all schedules and reports in a single place that is easily accessible by all the team. The ability to communicate through the sheets, tag colleagues and share notes is incredibly helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be slow to load at times. Also, I struggle to get the Gannt chart view to display how I want it from time to time (i.e. it's either too big or too small). However, compared to other products (e.g. Excel, Sheets, MS Project) there are no obvious downsides - it's simple and intuitive to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our biggest problem was we previously managed our project schedules and progress via two separate excel sheets. Having everything (schedules, tasks, progress, communications etc...) all in one place has made the projects run more efficiently. We are now able to see such things as task allocation, task completion, progress against schedule etc... much more easily. Also, we are now able to make changes to working culture, e.g. improving communications, via the software, helping make things more open and transparent within the team.

How easily information can be shared and eddited by multiple users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Still don't give me all the functionality that a excell document provides.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration is made possible through many users, creating a life environment where we have immediate access to what the current status of our assets is in regards to legal compliance.
An excellent Project Management tool with a lot of familiarity
What do you like best about the product?
The easy of use of Smartsheets comes from it's immediate familiarity due to it's sheet style display. Creating new PM tools like project plans, Gantt charts and resource views is all out of the box so it's quickly become my day-to-day tool.
Setting alerts for key milestones is incredibly easy to implement and any difficulties I've had have been swiftly addressed by the support teams.

What do you dislike about the product?
I've found some of the collaboration aspects a little tricky to get to grips with initially sa some of our teams are used to using other tools so there was a steeper learning curve for some of them, but I imagine that will come with any changes of software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating project plans can be difficult with some tools and I've sometimes struggled to find the correct manner in which to build these but with Smartsheets it's much simpler. The templates that are available are excellent to begin with before you find your feet.
As a business we've sometimes had difficulty communicating the prject/product status to stakeholders but with the dashboarding features this is very easy to implement and share.

What do you like best about the product?
It is a very flexible tool. I enjoy using forms with automations. Update request is very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some forumulas I'm used to using in excel are not able to be used in Smartsheet. Referencing cells and columns from other sheets is very difficult since tabs are not supported.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheets helps us for processes that are not robust enough to warrant a dedicated solution.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is great for sharing key information amongst teams of users. Things like shared editing, history and forms have been helping in bringing teams together.

Smartsheet is not excel which is both good and bad.

What do you like best about the product?
I think Smartsheet is very easy to use and set up solutions. As a busy project manager, I need a tool that I can easily create what I need to run my process and then quickly modify it as things change over time. I like how it is collaborative, and has features like dashboards and automation. The premium apps have been helpful such as datamesh and data uploader. All the available resources to help learn about the platform and be able to ask someone how to do something and get a quick response is fantastic. I use the platform all the time in my job.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the dramatic price increase though it is understandable that the price will go up over time. I think there are a lot of features that can be incorporated and the platform has a lot of room to grow and improve its capabilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is a collaborative environment that can easily create solutions that all work together. It saves me time and helps get my team the answers they need quickly. It also saves me time as I can easily create what I need and not have to go through IT.
An intuitive and powerful tool for Project Management.
What do you like best about the product?
For me its strength lies in the simple way I can acheive my goals of tracking projects and my portfolio. If I come up with an idea then it is usually something that has already been anticipated in the development of Smartsheet and it is easy to implement.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having more granular control of look and feel would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our problem was a lack of visibility of a large portfolio of projects for the Senior Leadership Team. Smartsheet has allowed me to build a dashboard from a comprehensive set of tracking sheets which allows a simple to read view for SLT and the confidence the portfolio is on track.
