Leveraging Smartsheet in Human Resources
What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoy the flexibility smartsheet offers. The automations and dynamic view have provided us with a variety of ways to share information with our workforce.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some functionality constraints related to sharing attachments within a sheet. There are times we'd like to share only a specific document and smartsheets current functionality is all or nothing. Some of the logic/rules only offer 'and' or 'or' logic and it would be nice to be able to have them interchangable when needed not a one or the other.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the absence of a robust HRIS system, we have built smartsheet to manage benefit enrollments and performance reviews. We have built automations to share information with internal and external custmers to elminate human error.

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to create from simple to complex workflow, dynamic notifications, dynamic view
What do you dislike about the product?
The licensing cost could be lower but the enterprise license justifies everything for the smaller organizations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing a project and tasks has been simpler, we were in a need of an approval system and managed to build the solutions from smartsheet with multi-level approver

What do you like best about the product?
I like the way I can structure my project plan with timelines, assign it to the correct persons, send reminders, add documentation and keep track of all the progress

Sometimes copy paste and conditional formatting is not working like excel, this can be improved

Smartsheet -- A Smooth Spreadsheet Experience
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has been very useful for maintaining a shared record. I appreciate the frictionless feeling of using it and it has a very low learning curve. Admittedly, this is a fairly basic usage of the program, and I am not personally using some of the more advanced features. However, we do utilize formulae and filtering capabilities and they have been very robust and useful. I use Smartsheets daily for work and have never encountered any unexpected errors or bugs, which is appreciated. Because Smartsheet is very visually similar to other programs that I have previously used, it was not difficult to learn or to adopt. The interface is also visually appealing (in my opinion, more so than other programs). I also very much appreciate the ease of adding notes ands attachments to a row without them needing to be added in an actual cell. I have never personally had to use customer support, which is a positive!
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some restrictions when using the program without a license. However, it works very well for our needs, so this is not really a downside for us. As my use is fairly basic (keeping track of things), I haven't really run into any issues, so I can't personally comment on more advanced features -- maybe there are less features than provided by other programs, for example.

What do you like best about the product?
The collaborative nature of Smartsheet is the best feature in my opinion. I like that my team and I can be working in the same sheet together and see the real-time changes. I think this, along with the automated processess that make changes to multiple sheets, makes Smartsheet a fantastic collaborative work management tool. My team and I use this function on a weekly basis, so it is great to keeping things up to date with our latest edits.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think that smartsheets can be a little complicated for some of the less "internet-friendly" members of my time. There are a lot of functions that do some really great things, but unfortunately some of my team members have trouble grasping how to complete these functions. However, I think Smartsheet is wonderful for having a wide array of templates that can be used so you do not necessarily know how to input the more complex functions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having one document/sheet that everyone can work in simultaneously from anywhere. I think it is really helpful with helping our team keep up to date on deadlines, open matters, and task assigning.

Smartsheets is a fantastic, easy platform for storing your files and data. "Excel with benefits".
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheets facilitates easy addition of comments and displaying threads of conversation stored in each line of the database. This is great for team users who are sharing the data and want to track history of discussion and changes. I appreciate the easy and straightforward "look" of the spreadsheet and how easy it is to upload and attach files. The interface is very much like Dropbox which I am very familiar with. Seach functions are easy and menus are simple to follow. I appreciate the auto save function as well!
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no obvious downsides except to say the format suffers from the obvious limitations of a Spreadsheet, which is not always the best model for data structure, e.g. compared to a Oracle SQL database. Spreadsheeys are obviously good for financial presentations and listed / columned grouping. The application we use tracks supplier and specifications, to which the spreadsheet is well suited.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The task we manage is the progressive review of information about a supplier. We use a combination of tick boxes, data fields and drop down menus to track progress (left to right) across the sheet. The ease-of-use benefits us because one user can attach files for review, then another user can progress across the sheet to track our evaluation. Smartsheets is a very well-designed visual data interface!
