Great way to compile data, intuitive to use for all levels of tech savvy
What do you like best about the product?
The best part of Smartsheet by far is how easy it is to build new sheets and processes. Once we had all of our data in Smartsheet, we've been able to port almost all of our processes over instead of using a ton of different programs to get and provide the information we're looking for. It's reached the point where other departments are asking "is it possible to do this in Smartsheet?" and I love that I can almost always say "yes!"
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet is great for data compilation and collection, but there are a number of little features that I wish it had (or if it does already have these features, then I wish they were easier to figure out). These are things like automatically forming parent/child rows (to group rows automatically rather than by hand) or making it easier to take information from multiple places at once to compile (rather than having to copy entire rows over). I also wish that all of the different views were available in all different types (such as Card View in Reports).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used to do everything by hand, on physical paper. With Smartsheet we're able to get responses from our employees in the field and easily review their responses to determine what steps we need to take next. We're also able to compile all of our contact information in one place.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet helps me in my daily tasks by keeping financial and accouting information well organized and letting me know the status of specific requests, as well as allowing me to see who they're coming from

The screen is very populated when first opened which can sometimes be overwhelming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is helping myself and my coworkers stay organized and having a reference point for information on specific requests

Smartsheets requires a license for every user.

Delegation of tasks and task tracking was an issue for us.
A customizable product great for intake and tracking
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheets is highly useful for it's user friendly forms capabilities, which makes the intake of data smooth and easy. I also love the automation capabilities, so that projects can be assigned based on responses, and updates/reminders can be sent based on a calendar with little need to manually monitor. Smartsheet is constantly adding upgrades and improvements, which means the things that I commonly wish it could do often get developed fairly soon after I realize them.
What do you dislike about the product?
Getting data to display in a graphic that's dynamic often requires a fairly advanced knowledge of excel like formulas, though the AI integrations are helping make this easier. Also, it would be nice if you could more easily cross reference fields between sheets, or make a multi-select list column based on a preset list sheet. I often have associated fields that I need to update in multiple places because either it's a primary field, which must be free text, or because trying to cross reference makes it too easy to break the data. If I could have a single list sheet, and then columns in other sheets based on that list sheet, it would make things so much easier to update.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to have multiple intake sheets depending on the type of process, but still pull the resulting data together for necessary metrics. We can have multiple departments involved, and reports generated based on that individual/teams needs.

The learning curve is easly accomplished when performing a complex gantt schededuling charts.

Overall works very good, but designating the critical path is sometimes differcult ie. ease of integration

My Honest review of Smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
I like how simple smartsheet is to use. The outline on the side makes it super simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
The thing I dislike about smartsheet is that I wish it was easier to share.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is helping me keep track of my new hires and the training the y have or have not received.
Intuitive and easy to use for collaborations
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, lots of templates to address needs, responsive customer service reps

Lack of simple features like successors, formatting customization (need to do special formulas and hidden columns)

Developing integrated program plans that are easily accessible and editable
Smartsheet is integral to our company's business needs and sucess
What do you like best about the product?
I use Smartsheets every day for work as we use it as our main platform. One of the best things about Smartsheet is how it keeps the team in the loop for our projects. I love how you can create automation/workflow to keep everyone informed. It is like Excel but on performance-enhancing medicine.
I am a try-it-yourself first person, so it was great to download the "Template Set- Formula Handbook." it was easy to read and understand and helped me with my formulas. One of the latest new features that I love is the AI interface to help you write formulas. I can type what I want the end result of the formula to be, and it will create the formula and even populate the cell with the formula.
The "update" and "generate document" features ensure a smooth flow of our internal standard operating procedures. The "forms" feature is beneficial as some teammates aren't familiar with Smartsheet and quite honestly, we don't want them to interface with the Smart Sheet itself.
The community forum is a great way to ask for help, as someone might have had that issue before.

1. Not being able to insert pictures in forms.
2. Not being able to do a double "v-look up" for a formula
3. To send an attachment via a workflow, the trigger is when the attachment is added only. I had to use a helper sheet to get around this. Which unfortunately took away the update function as that put the information on the helper sheet and not the real sheet.
4.Document mapping needs to be done every time a sheet is copied/duplicated, which leaves room for errors.
5. The official "help" and support should be more helpful. Sometimes, the only way to get help is through the community forum.

Helpful for forms and surveys and project management
What do you like best about the product?
The features we use most are forms, dashboards, project plans, and team collaboration. Forms are straightforward to create, project templates are helpful. I started using Smartsheet AI to help with creating formulas.
What do you dislike about the product?
As far as I'm aware you can't create pivot tables in Smartsheet, that would add a lot of functionality. We end up exporting to Excel for this.

We use forms for application submissions.
