Great tool for productivity and small companies, great UX. Young but much potential

What do you like best about the product?
The user experience is excellent and smooth, with not many bugs and apps for PCs and phones with all major OSs supported. Sync between devices is fast and reliable and allows you to focus on what matters.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customer support is not that great. Customer-facing direct support, in my experience, has always been entirely useless, and the engineers you refer to afterwards are slightly more helpful. Still, they do not really provide solutions; they often say, "they will implement this or that feature in the future", and then that feature is never heard of again. Notion risks jumping into the Twitter model...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion helps me keep track of my progress, objectives, sales, and whether I am hitting the goals I impose on myself every week. This is crucial for my job and helps me be more time efficient.

Notion is a great way to efficiently store the notes.

What do you like best about the product?
The notion can be accessed anywhere using the internet with just one click right away. It can be used as a web app, desktop application, or mobile app. It is convenient.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes typing in notes is a bit laggy. The response for typing speed should be improved. Also, I would like to see a better interface with more customisable options like themes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion as a part of my daily life. I use it as a note-making app for data structures and algorithms. It also lets me store code snippets and many more.

Best Knowledge sharing platform out there!

What do you like best about the product?
Sharing FAQs regarding different business units is very easy with Notion. For all the new sales hires we make, this has dramatically reduced the ramp time since the onboarding information they require is efficiently organized in Notion
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool has a very steep learning curve, which is surprising since it's a straightforward drag-and-drop solution. It was not easy to set up as well, Apart from these, I did not find any negatives with the tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion has become a one-stop shop for information about the business, different departments & general FAQs about policies and easy-to-access HR documents. This saves a lot of person-hours across departments.

What do you like best about the product?
Improved AI agents and tools built in help with the flow of information, research, etc. The notion marketplace continues to expand making it easier to find templates for projects or starting points. I have not tried working with a notion expert yet.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can still take time to setup a project or work with more advanced work flows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion is good for scheduling and organizing tasks for a team. You can assign task, set deadlines, and track a project. You can embed documents and links in the project as well and display the project information in a user friendly format.

Notion is theone-stop shop for team coordination and creativity.

What do you like best about the product?
Full cross-departmental and cross-project integration.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would love to see Notion implement Google drive connectivity without Zapier or plugins.

We have a lot of databases that live in Google drive, it would be grand to be able to simply point to source data.

Additionally, would love to see the MERGE CSV functionality be able to remove duplicate entries.

All of the above apply.

Would also like to see AI as a native function rather than an upgrade.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cross department coordination, including planning stages handing off to dev and execution teams.

It's the easiest way to focus on what matters

What do you like best about the product?
Thanks to the power of its databases, Notion allows me to quickly find any information, even if it's from a long time ago. This gives me peace of mind and allows me to move forward in other areas of my work without stress.
What do you dislike about the product?
Databases are currently very powerful, and having so many options can be overwhelming. It would be good if they could be simplified a bit without losing power and customization capabilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion saves my time when i need to search any important document of my company, also search personals documents, help me to organize my projects.
Also help me to manage inventory of products, manage important payments of services and be creative, increase the speed when writing my ideas.

A fresh look on database organization.

What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Notion in my current company, and it's the most intuitive database tool I've ever seen. Notion helps our team organize work and projects and it is great for brainstorming new ideas as well. There are so many different uses to it, I have only explored a small part of it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The amount of pages that are created can be a tricky thing if teams don't know exactly how to track and organize them. At least Notion is creating new ways to organize groups and pages. One thing I don't like is the fact that some changes are sort of "imposed" like the new default split screen view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion helps me brainstorm and keep track of new ideas. It also helps my team keep our database organized and easy to find.

A flexible, cost effective, well documented solution for all of your organisational leads

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is easy to get started and is seriously well documented, so for the most part you can usually find what you need to know on Youtube or other tutorials. It's easier to link databases together than you would think and there are some good templates out there.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not so much the functionality, but to get the best out of Notion you really do need to understand the basics of databases. I'm not really a database expert so I often have to look things up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a small business owner and consultant I find most of the 'off the peg' systems are too feature rich and complicated for my requirements. I'm using Notion to fulfill a lot of the functions that I'd spread over multiple tools like timesheets, CRM and project management all within one environment.

Notion makes the process of going from rough notes to polished docs fast and effective!

What do you like best about the product?
A colleague turned me on to trying out Notion, and from that very seedling of a first page I edited, I've used Notion extensively and continued to bloom with it — even written the equivalent of a few novels in it. It's compiled features I've used in other tools, and made them a lot more elegant and streamlined.

Historically, I'd often get frustrated with how Google Docs, Zendesk, and others mangled my formatting, with unpleasant errors galore. By copypasting the same stuff into Notion, I could essentially clean up that detritus. And there's NO separate "publish" step, a page has live-editing! (You can always do a "staging/test" on a separate page, if need be.) Plus, making pages public or targeting shares is super-easy.

My business uses of Notion include project management for task tracking (via card columns), comprehensive user documentation (and the process of translating it from internal ➜ external consumption), and presenting ideas. On the home front, my wife and I also used it to write and edit our wedding vows, record proof of stuff needing repair, and so on. In short, there were times I was getting involved with another tool, then went — "Why, Notion can already do that! Just use Notion!" And one of my favorite uses of Notion is keeping track of my musical productions, serializing them with annotations, so I'm clear on what's almost done, what needs to be delivered, and what I might just be mucking around with.

I get excited at new Notion features adding value (tip: stay tuned to https://www.notion.so/releases !) and not overcomplicating the mix. I've seen other tools where the balance tipped a certain way and obfuscation got in the way of a good thing. So its growth trajectory over the years has been promising.

I like how I can drag audio files directly into Notion. I'm disappointed at what other tools (like Nuclino and Miro) to date still don't support us sound citizens.

The use of emojis, colors, and visual elements makes pages a lot more colorful and memorable — and dare I say, even fun!

Overall and importantly, Notion makes it easy for different departments to get involved, including team members that consider themselves "non-technical". It hasn't raised hackles like other tools with a jagged learning curve that are "unintuitive".

The backup feature is reassuring, something you don't think about going in, but you'll need it down the line if your data is even remotely precious to you.

Support has usually been quite helpful to me, and my many questions across time. Sometimes they'll overcomplicate matters by asking for unnecessary info on a small obvious thing... but I know it's just because they want to learn more. Better to err on the side of overcommunication, right? :D
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish we could add more custom styling — not going crazy, but custom colors with exact RGB values for text and solid background colors would make a big difference with matching branding. I know there are 3rd-party tools that aim to address these needs and things like custom domain names, but having it integrated seems really fundamental.

Also, when I last checked, there wasn't a way to see original code used for IFRAMES, which seems terribly clunky, since it means I have to store that code somewhere else (like in a separate Notion page), or risk it being obfuscated. This matters for anyone using embeds like Bandcamp and SoundCloud widgets with custom parameters.

But on the whole, Notion has been awesome!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
See the "What do you like best?" section above, where I address that. To summarize, even though I've used it for many things (just about all the main advertised use cases!): at present, Notion helps me organize and retrieve loose pieces of data in an approachable and neat way, like turning various Slack messages into a fully-formed help article, and keeping my projects moving forward.

Amazing Productivity Software

  • September 01, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion is a must productivity software for businesses or students. I use it as note-taking software for my study (Computer Science); the thing I love most is that you can create as many databases as you want, and it is possible to do a lot of operations with the data.
What do you dislike about the product?
The part I don't like is that it is not as famous as other productivity software that offers less. It doesn't have many features, but I am sure the developer will add them in the following months.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it as note-taking in my university path. I'm a computer science student, and it helps me to create tables with automatic functions and roadmaps for my projects
