Effortless Project Management with a Need for Better Updates
What do you like best about the product?
I use Asana to track projects and bugs, and it solves the problem of keeping track of all project work across all teams. I like that I can easily multi-home tasks and create action item tasks. This is really helpful when another group's project work impacts my project, as I can multi-home the project work into both their and my projects. I also find it very useful to easily create an individual task with a description, assignment, due date, comments, and links all in a single task in a project. The initial setup of Asana was very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's no easy way to view the latest work done in a project. You have to know where to dig for information if most updates are in a subtask. It's difficult to get a high-level view unless someone tags you.

Optimize Project Management with Clear Flow

Asana has been very useful for managing improvement projects in my current role as a process engineer. What I like the most is that it has a very clear workflow, for example with the task flow: pending, in progress, in validation, and closed. Asana makes it easy to follow up on actions resulting from meetings and ensures that things actually get done. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy.

Streamlined Project Management with Room for UI Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I think the planning aspect of Asana works out very well. I like the fact that I can add tasks and subtasks, and it handles that really well. Since I'm running a consultancy with multiple clients, it's essential that I have an accurate snapshot of what is due and when clients expect it, and Asana helps in that regard with a well thought out timeline.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the way Asana handles files confusing. It's nice to attach them to messages and comments, but once they're associated with a project, it's really hard to manage them. I can't get a list view or sort them, and they end up in a strange masonry style. Also, while the initial setup was straightforward, Asana, like many project management tools, has too many features which makes it hard to keep it simple. The design lacks a clear visual hierarchy, which can bury important options and information quickly. It feels like the UI was designed by engineers or productivity experts, and could really benefit from a visual overhaul for better clarity. I also really, REALLY dislike the fact that the pricing is at best, disingenuous, and at worst, deceptive: even as a solopreneur, I'm forced to buy 2 seats, so like countless others, I have one extra seat that I just don't need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Asana for timeline management and as a central hub for communication and file access.
