    What is our primary use case?

    My main use cases for Sprout Social  include publishing as well as social listening and tagging for reporting.

    If a PR incident occurred that generated buzz on social media, I would receive a request to complete a social listening report. I would build a Boolean query within Sprout Social  to pull relevant mentions of the topic, and then I would build out a presentation using that data to share with leadership.

    We use Sprout Social to publish content on the day of and schedule it in advance across all major social media platforms. Specific post tagging helps to categorize content for easier reporting.

    What is most valuable?

    The scheduling in advance feature across multiple platforms at once is very helpful. Sprout Social's social listening interface is easy to understand and digest, and the UI there is very strong.

    The scheduling feature definitely makes work more efficient, as it prevents having to work on the weekends. As long as we have everything we need during working hours, we can schedule that content out and save time that way. I appreciate the customizable widgets for social listening, as well as the way the interface looks, making it easy to understand.

    Sprout Social allows multiple members of the team to effectively manage content calendar planning, and it also gives our external agency partners a view into the work. It lets us publish to multiple channels at once and schedule content in advance, which has improved collaboration across teams with insight into different handles and content calendars.

    Using Sprout Social helps us post content within peak active windows. By having that content scheduled in advance, we can better reach our more active audience times, which has a direct correlation to increased engagement and impressions.

    What needs improvement?

    Sprout Social could be improved by being able to schedule out Stories, which is a current limitation. In the event that we have stories to post on a weekend, for example, that still requires manual posting.

    For how long have I used the solution?

    I have used Sprout Social for about two years.

    What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    Sprout Social is reliable in general. I would like to see specific examples in social listening of what is being referenced, but in general, the capabilities are strong and continuing to improve.

    What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

    As we have expanded and consolidated handles accordingly, Sprout Social is definitely scalable. It was very easy to implement and add or remove any new handles or channels, as well as users.

    How are customer service and support?

    Customer support is excellent. We had a dedicated rep who was available to answer any questions and support with new reporting needs that we had.

    Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

    I previously used Later in a different role, and then when I joined my current role, we had Sprout Social already established.

    What other advice do I have?

    I would recommend establishing a strong relationship with your customer success manager and developing a close relationship in order to be best supported throughout your usage of the tool. Test and learns on Boolean queries to make sure that your query is pulling the most relevant mentions, and then create a benchmarking dashboard to easily reference. I would rate this product an 8.

    What do you like best about the product?
    Generally, I find the user experience much better than most other social media management platforms (and I've used a lot of them over the years). Things just seem more intuitive to find both on the standard user role side and that of the administrator. Managing users, teams, roles, and the overall setup of the backend is fairly easy to do without too much effort. Other tools were challenging to set granular permissions for users. The customization features allow us to easily build workflows.

    We've used Sprout for over a year now and I can't think of a time that the tool wasn't available or working. On occasion, social networks have had connection issues, but Sprout still worked.

    As far as reporting, we have the advanced analytics tool and find it helpful to develop custom reports for our stakeholders. There's nothing we can't figure out based on these tools.

    The basic social listening package is also helpful. I particularly like the AI tools built into it that help us identify common themes and general metrics to help us make content decisions.
    What do you dislike about the product?
    The integrations are lacking. There are only a few and they aren't very helpful for our group. Many other tools have significantly more integrations that would help us with our workflow and roles. Some examples would be ClickUp, Microsoft Outlook calendars, GettyImages, SharePoint file integration for media files, Canto webdam service, and direct PowerBI app connection.
    What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
    Sprout Social has helped us with workflow, reporting, user management, security, and understanding what those on the web are saying about us.

    Workflow: We have folks who are content generators. Previously, their content went directly to our social accounts and many times, since they are not trained communicators, the content wouldn't match our tone, style, or persona. This workflow has helped us allow more people to submit content for our social channels while allowing experts to review the content before posting.

    Reporting: The standard and custom reports are robust and allow us to better report on our progress to leadership in a clear, concise way. We've recently started experimenting with the Sprout API to pull data into homemade dashboards that bring together other mediums to track progress in one place.

    User Management: Connecting Single-Sign-On (SSO) to our organization and then managing each user is relatively straightforward and allows for granular permissioins which helps our workflow. I wanted our users to see only what they need to see, nothing more, nothing less, to improve their own workflows. We've found that average users get overwhelmed if they see too much in the tool, so these granular permissions help us match what they see to what they are responsible for doing.

    Security: One place to access all of our social media has removed direct access to accounts from all but a trusted small group. This has politically helped us since units can still submit content to their accounts even though they no longer have direct access.

    What is our primary use case?

    Sprout Social  helps me to get an aggregate of how my posts are performing across all social media platforms.

    Since I usually have to post on various platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and so on, it's quite time-consuming to visit every single platform, and it doesn't really show the full picture. Being able to use Sprout Social  allows me to see what truly performed well objectively.

    What is most valuable?

    The best features Sprout Social offers are the ability to post across all platforms from one place, the ability to review the performance of this post in one place, and also the ability to combine all the analytics from all these platforms into one report.

    It helps me to create reports that I can show to stakeholders about the full picture of our digital marketing channels.

    While I can post and look at some analytics on each individual platform, I truly love how Sprout Social gives you the option to create reports that are easy to read and easy to understand by non-marketing stakeholders.

    What needs improvement?

    It is not perfect. Sometimes its information or its syncing to platforms is clunky. So you end up having slightly wrong information or data. It could also definitely be a bit more user-friendly or fun to use.

    Sprout Social's AI capabilities have room for error and should be taken with a grain of salt.

    For how long have I used the solution?

    I have been using Sprout Social for six years.

    What was our ROI?

    I have created reports using Sprout Social that my higher-ups have discussed. So it has been able to inform higher-ups in the company who have then gone on to make decisions based on these findings.

    I used my Sprout Social data from my organic content posting to make a case for having an advertising budget. By simply presenting information through this report, my higher-ups were able to grant me a higher advertising budget, which then resulted in new followers and users on our platform and hitting KPIs based on these followers and users.

    What other advice do I have?

    Take some time to read the resources on how to actually use Sprout Social. There is probably more than you are aware of.

    I would rate Sprout Social an eight on a scale of one to ten. It is pretty good, but it could use some improvements such as enhanced user-friendliness and more reliable data syncing.

    What I liked most was the smooth navigation, which allows me to manage multiple social media profiles from a single place. It's intuitive and easy to use, making it straightforward to compile and present clear results to my team.

    It offers integration with many applications, but some specific platforms we use are not available.

    Sprout Social solves important problems; for example, it improves the management of our social networks and has become my favorite tool for managing multiple profiles from a single place. It's amazing, and I hope it continues on this path.

    What do you like best about the product?
    Sprout is easy to use and understand. You don't have to dig around through multiple tabs to find what you're looking for -- it's intuitive.
    What do you dislike about the product?
    I hate having to constantly log in to Sprout Social with their MFA. It takes much longer than it needs to to log in (sometimes the code takes a while to send to my email), and I wish there was an option to leave it for the week or month. It's pricy to add additional seats, and I wish the pricing could be tiered by access structure (e.g. not paying as much for someone who only has access to respond to review vs. a full admin). The AI writing tools used to be better before the last update. I don't use it as much as I used to because I don't find the tool to generate great captions now.
    What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
    Sprout allows us to schedule posts ahead of time, organize them, track performance, and organize interactions with consumers on our pages.
