Flexible content workflows have supported rapid seasonal updates and improved customer engagement
What is our primary use case?
Contentstack runs all of our composable media for our site and serves as our main CMS, working in partnership with our headless UI solution. All content and editable messaging are run through Contentstack to display on our site.
A key component of our business is updated messaging to keep up with seasonal and market trends. We needed a solution that allows for quick, ad hoc but still controlled content updates that we could get a large amount of our team to use. Contentstack has been incredibly helpful for us to ensure that our site is always changing and staying up to date.
What is most valuable?
The best features Contentstack offers are its extreme flexibility to our needs, which meets all use cases. Support is helpful and responsive, making it easy for the whole team to manage content. Contentstack has an intuitive interface that is very easy to use.
The interface has helped us manage our logged-in and non-logged-in channels, mobile, web, and desktop, mainly to deliver content and descriptions of our products.
Contentstack has positively impacted our organization by helping us save time since it is fast and easy to use. Through its intuitive interface, we have been able to use it very easily, and we have observed 50 to 60 percent of our time being saved. Additionally, there has also been an increase in our customer flow in our organization from 40 to 50 percent.
What needs improvement?
Contentstack can be improved by offering additional analytics via the API, providing training and examples, and updating SDKs to reflect technology change.
I chose 9 out of 10 because if they work on the very low rate limits on bulk publishing, they will definitely earn a 10 out of 10.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Contentstack for five years and nine months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Contentstack is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Contentstack is very scalable.
How are customer service and support?
Customer support is very responsive and active.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Previously, I used Contentful and Storyblok . Feature-wise, there is not a lot that separates these CMSes, and it is hard to assess in a software selection phase exactly how the products stack up against each other. Ultimately, the choice of Contentstack came down to the dialogue with the sales representative.
How was the initial setup?
My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing was that it was cost-effective and affordable.
What about the implementation team?
I purchased Contentstack through the AWS Marketplace .
What was our ROI?
I have seen a return on investment with a seamless translation flow through the XTM content connector. Structured content improves the SEO ranking of our site, and users can create beautiful content without the help of a developer. We have observed 50 to 60 percent of our time being saved since we started using Contentstack, which has a positive impact on our organization.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing was that it was cost-effective and affordable.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Before choosing Contentstack, I evaluated other options, including the Netlify platform and commercetools .
What other advice do I have?
My advice to others looking into using Contentstack is that it is great at serving content to JAMstack front-ends. As content can be all of landing pages, SEO text, assets, campaign pages, and legal text, among other things, a lot of users need to access Contentstack just a little bit, but Contentstack charges per user rather than per content, which becomes quite expensive. I would rate this product 9 out of 10.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Flexible, Highly Customizable Platform—Navigation and Basic Tools Need Work
Content workflows have become streamlined and non-specialists manage versioned content efficiently
What is our primary use case?
Contentstack serves as the CMS behind our website builder platform, which powers several content-driven websites across the business, including our corporate site. Across all the sites using this platform, we have around new visitors per year. We use Contentstack 's modular block functionality and link those blocks to custom components in our website app.
I use Contentstack to future-proof the next iteration of our website and enable non-website specialists to contribute to uploading content. With Contentstack, we are able to narrow down the user access and approval flows.
What is most valuable?
The best feature Contentstack offers is content versioning across various environments.
The content versioning feature helps my team by solving our technical problems through good technical documentation and content versioning across various environments.
Contentstack has positively impacted my organization by helping us save time and expand our organization since it is easy and flows well.
We have saved forty-five to fifty percent of our time since we deployed Contentstack in our organization, which is a positive impact to our business.
What needs improvement?
Contentstack can be improved by being mobile responsive, as it is hard to edit content on the go, and more customization of display options is needed, specifically for columns available to filter various entries.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Contentstack for five years and eight months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Contentstack is stable. In my experience, Contentstack is stable, with no issues of downtime or reliability. I really appreciate that, since it has helped us run our workflow and organization perfectly, which is a positive impact.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Contentstack's scalability is very scalable.
How are customer service and support?
The customer support is very responsive and proactive.
I would rate the customer support a nine out of ten.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I previously used Contentful .
I decided to switch from Contentful to Contentstack because feature-wise, there is not a lot that separates these micro-services, and it is hard to access in an AWS selection phase exactly how the products stack up against each other. Ultimately, the choice of Contentstack came down to the dialogue with the sales rep.
How was the initial setup?
I purchased Contentstack through the AWS Marketplace .
What was our ROI?
I have seen a return on investment, as we save time deploying content, allow more members of our team to manage content, and get to the market faster, removing technical dependency anytime we want to make a change to the site.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing was that the price was average and somehow affordable either way.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Before choosing Contentstack, I evaluated other options, such as the Netlify platform.
What other advice do I have?
My advice to others looking into using Contentstack is that it is great at serving content to Jamstack front-ends. Contentstack could improve the usability of the content editors, as well as the commercial model surrounding users. As content can be all of landing pages, SEO text, assets, campaign pages, legal text, and more, many users need to access Contentstack just a little bit, but Contentstack charges per user rather than per concurrent user, which becomes quite expensive.
I would rate this review an eight out of ten overall.

Modern content workflows have replaced legacy sites and now save our teams significant time
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Contentstack is to replace a legacy solution on-premises Sitecore. The scope of the use case was to replace our customer's legacy website using Sitecore in 10 languages with Contentstack. I use Contentstack management on our website. Contentstack has been able to help me address how we deliver content across our website in a way that allows us to merchandise and brand in every way our marketing and e-commerce department desires.
I use Contentstack to power our blog. I use scheduled publishing extensively to be able to plan my work and I make content components that can handle all structured content in order to automate graphical elements on the sites.
What is most valuable?
The best features Contentstack offers are customer service, which has been by far the most reliable and responsive in any vendor I've dealt with. Contentstack listens to feedback and builds features and technical improvements. It enables me to build and architect content through the use of their core software and user interface.
Contentstack has positively impacted my organization by really helping us save time since we are able to use it well in our organization. They were also happy to jump on a video call and review code to help our team overcome issues. This was all included in our contract.
I can share specific outcomes or metrics that show the positive impact Contentstack has had, as we have been able to reach our clients very well and on time since we started using Contentstack. We have been able to save fifty to sixty-five percent of our time since we deployed Contentstack in our organization, which is a positive impact in our business.
What needs improvement?
Contentstack can be improved with better rate limits on bulk publishing entries and assets, such as a ten-entry, ten-locale limit. I also suggest having more meaningful error messages for users, and it would be beneficial to have a content type to support building a website navigation.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Contentstack for five years and three months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Contentstack is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Contentstack is very scalable.
How are customer service and support?
The customer support of Contentstack is very responsive and proactive.
Contentstack's customer service stands out for me because there was a time I was stuck, and they really came through for me during that time, and it was very difficult for me to navigate through my insights. Since I decided to rely on them, they have never disappointed. That was a very good response from them.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I previously used a different solution which was Contentful.
How was the initial setup?
My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing was cost-affordable and efficient.
What was our ROI?
I have seen a return on investment as we have been able to save forty-five to fifty-five percent of our time since we deployed Contentstack in our organization, which has also led to smooth running of programs in our organization across different departments, which is a positive impact to us.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I purchased Contentstack through the AWS Marketplace.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Before choosing Contentstack, I evaluated other options such as WordPress.
What other advice do I have?
The advice I would give to others looking into using Contentstack is that I would strongly recommend Contentstack for sites and applications that need content that changes and content is published frequently. For example, pages with product descriptions, blogs, FAQs, fact pages, and stories. With Contentstack, I am able to leave all creation and alteration of content to the business team, demanding less from the technology team. I would rate this product a nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Platform has streamlined content workflows and is driving higher conversion and customer engagement
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Contentstack is to manage our website, which has been able to help us address how we deliver content across our website in a way that allows us to merchandise and economize e-commerce department desire.
How has it helped my organization?
Contentstack has positively impacted my organization by helping our processes flow easily, allowing us to tackle our problems quickly while receiving positive feedback from our clients.
A specific outcome that shows how Contentstack helped my organization is that we have observed a 30% increase in our conversion rate and also a 40% increase in our customer rate.
What is most valuable?
A quick specific example of how Contentstack helps my team to deliver or manage content is from basic text and images to personalization, with business logic and campaign-driven content to help improve conversion on our website.
In my experience, the best features Contentstack offers enable us to build and architect content through the use of their easy-to-use software and user interface, and they listen to feedback to build features or technical improvements that help customer usability and experience.
What needs improvement?
To improve, I suggest more freedom to create deeper levels of nested modular blocks to fit our use case of few content types and many entries, as well as the introduction of a dark mode or option for reskinning the UI.
It would also be better if they invest in a notification or recognition system for duplicate images.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Contentstack for four years and two months.
How are customer service and support?
On a day-to-day basis, I find that we deliver with reliability, great customer service, and a user interface that has enabled our team to build and architect content with ease through Contentstack.
Additionally, the support is mostly quick to answer on smaller issues, but for bigger issues that require more insights and maybe bug fixing, it can take a while between the updates, which leaves you not knowing exactly when the exact solution is made.
What other advice do I have?
My advice to others looking into using Contentstack is that it has flexible functionality, which opens up a lot of possibilities for businesses with proactive web development teams to create their own website builder app to compete with third-party agencies, especially useful in large enterprises where non-technical teams often turn to expensive outside agencies, which costs more in the long run than an upfront investment into an in-house application. I would rate this product an 8 out of 10.
