Custom Issue Tracker

What do you like best about the product?
JIRA has some of the best customizable workflows and screens that I found in an Issue/Project management software.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the customizations can cause issues if you are sharing screens/fields across different projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was able to implement JIRA into a business that had no change management. As the business grew JIRA was also able to change and grow. It started off with just tracking issues and a basic workflow to a Managing projects and tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Their sweet of products is great. We started with the starter pack for our Development team first and then expanded it out as a Company wide application.

What do you like best about the product?
JIRA is the only way I can keep sane while managing a group of software engineers. I can track their in progress work, logged time, and plan future projects accordingly by exporting ticket details.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are limitations to the export of reporting and what you can filter by.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Planning future projects accordingly by exporting ticket details for past projects to set realistic timelines.

What do you like best about the product?
This tool is very helpful in tracking team activity and assigning task.

A bit complicated to implement and managing.

We are solving problems like tracking activity of task in team. The work of the team members are more visible now.

What do you like best about the product?
Customizable to track what I want and the built in reporting is very nice.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no way to do cross project burn downs when reporting on larger epic type projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking and reporting of enhancements and bugs being worked on by engineering teams.

It is good but expensive

Ease of use, it is really quick to get up and started and to get new people using it

almost too many views and functions - and too many clicks to admin projects and make changes to workflows

Using JIRA has created a central repository for software development issues and ticket tracking

Great product, a bit tough to get a handle on at the beginning

What do you like best about the product?
I love that it keeps everything organized and easy to see at a glance. It's been very helpful in logging what tests have been successful and what has not been.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that on the onset, it's tough to understand. If someone is not familiar with development sprints, it's a tough concept to grasp with Jira in the beginning. There feels like there's somewhat of a learning curve in the beginning because there are not walk through tutorials or explanations to icons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're solving our lack of transparency to other departments and our previous lack of organization. We're also finally tracking our data better and using Jira to help document our successes and failures.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's best used by those with more technical backgrounds, who are familiar with the proper use of development sprints. For product managers without a technical background, they will likely need assistance in understanding different portions of Jira.

Powerful product management tool

What do you like best about the product?
We hold daily stand-ups using JIRA dashboard, it is a powerful tool to track and prioritize individual progress. The JIRA tickets are globally searchable, so it is quite easy to know the progress of other teams too.
What do you dislike about the product?
We need to fill many fields when creating a JIRA tickets. Most of the time we clone JIRA ticket, resulting in unnecessary emails sent to the watchers of the old ticket.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Product development.

What do you like best about the product?
Makes planning days so efficient plus allows you to be hooked up with other dev tools like Testrail.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its painful to install it on a linux OS. Stick to Windows and everything will go smoothly

Planning, keep track of issues, bugs etc.

What do you like best about the product?
It is very flexible and well integrated with many other products on the marketplace.
What do you dislike about the product?
JIRA is extremely flexible but also easy to go wrong with. It takes quite a bit of care to set up workflows, manage boards, configure forms, etc. It is also easy to let a project spin out of control with too many open issues, but if used properly it is quite powerful, particularly for distributed teams.
