Ease of use - Jira
What do you like best about the product?
I like the feature it has on time tracking on projects

What do you like best about the product?
I like the button functionality / easy to resolve issues / reopen issues.

I dislike how hard it is to find previous issues via the search functionality.

We mostly use JIRA for bug tracking purposes.
Very Useful Tool for Managing Development Projects
What do you like best about the product?
Makes it quick and simple to keep track of all project tasks throughout the project lifecycle, refine requirements and assign team members. Accommodates agile development and makes our processes more efficient by grouping issues into sprints. Great communication tools with pinging to ensure that all team members are kept updated and can answer questions in a timely manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
Universal/general settings are not intuitive and are quite complex to set up. Going back and revising them is not easy either. Managing multiple projects can sometimes cause a cluttered interface that requires filtering to get to what you need to view. Ease of user use is often times tied to the initial or universal set up, so if users do not know what they are doing it can be a problem. Mobile interface is limited and does not allow access to all features, which can make it difficult to manage on the go.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows us to document all of our projects in terms of requirements and track the project process in a very detailed way. Great for overall development project management that has increased our effectiveness and efficiency.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great choice for development project management and bug tracking software. Minimal learning curve in terms of user involvement in a project.

Automated notifications, watching feature and custom dashboards make management of open requests easy to manage

Wish notifications could be modified to send only when there are major changes rather than minor ones only

I use this to track partner requests and bugs for various end-partners. I like the tagging feature for this

JIRA makes the development process easy
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how easy it is to see where JIRA tickets are at. I also love the ability to quickly communicate via comments or to loop someone in who is not on the ticket.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setting up JIRA to work how you want it to can be very time consuming and confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the need for a one stop shop for development and product to work together and for the overall business to get an idea of where we are at in process of building new features.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend JIRA because their software covers everything your teams need from A to Z in the product development process.

What do you like best about the product?
Jira is a powerful tool allowing you to create epics, stories, add tasks and further divide them into subtasks, individual vs team assignments and an Agile board to be able to track the progress of these tasks.
Jira's inherent workflows and capability to create customized workflow for task management made it easy and effective to track the progress of each task and switch task between Development and QA Team.

What do you dislike about the product?
Getting started can be a bit of a chore. Not just in configuring the tool, but in trying to anticipate how your team will want it set up you start using it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking project progress, monitoring the roadmap and reporting to stakeholders. Jira has transformed our organization and how our project management operates on a day to day basis.
Easy to track for software development
What do you like best about the product?
I love the simplicity of use. It's easy to track enhancements and bugs and have project managers assign projects in the order of priority. Also allows for everyone to see what others in the team are working on.
What do you dislike about the product?
for larger companies, sometimes it's hard to find other teams Jira pages. It does have a search feature built in but when there are thousands of pages it can be cumbersome to search.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were trying to have a central place for our team to track milestones and bugs for our projects. It became really beneficial in our agile processes to be able to look up future and past enhancements as well as for scheduling developers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for an all-encompassing project management product that also allows for implementation of bug tracking and enhancements, this is a wonderful way to go. Also has a pages feature that allows a team to put resources all in one place.
A powerful tool
What do you like best about the product?
Highly configurable and flexible but there is definitely a learning curve, as to administration. It takes time and experience to master the tool and use its full potential.
What do you dislike about the product?
There was a downtime in their cloud service recently and it took a while to fix. It was quite disruptive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creates transparency, allows reporting without much extra effort - provided the system has been set up properly.
Its a great agile tool for story management
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of use and the various features available. It is easy to navigate as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dont like that it cannot be configured fully based on ones need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using this to capture all my user requirements and track progress.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it primarily for Agile implementations. It is not suitable for waterfall methodology.
Efficient and collaborative platform for Scrum teams
What do you like best about the product?
I like how it visually helps me manage scrum teams and the sprints that we have in flight.
What do you dislike about the product?
With our current instance we have some issues around metrics and with getting appropriate plug ins.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to use Jira in helping our scrum teams increase velocity and make all the stories transparent for both the team and management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think its a great tool however there are some challenges with getting metrics outside of the canned reports that come with Jira. Overall I do like the platform and I am able to do my job more effectively with it.
