Very good, inexpensive tool for agile tracking

  • January 12, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's simple to use, but very effective. Reduces a lot of manual work.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the subtasks would be more tightly couple It would be nice to be able to finish a subtask in a different sprint than the parent task and add up the estimated effort into of all subtasks into the main task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used this daily as an agile tracking tool. It's easy to learn, easy to administer and meets our needs well.

JIRA the Agile tool

  • January 12, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using JIRA for over five years and user interface has improved during this past several years. I have used it for issue tracking, Agile story reports, charts for project progress and analysis. JIRA has a nice community of developers and third party vendors to assist me on my projects. I can customize it for various development projects and I like features like workflow. There are four principal that makes this tool great as an Agile tool for any projects: sprint planning, stand ups, scrum planing and retrospectives. There are more to usability of JIRA and I just mentioned few of them.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, this tool has been improving every year since I have been using it. I just say additional capabilities for formatting texts like HTML is great to have. It would be nice to drag and drop written HTML codes in to JIRA issue tracking content.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been using that in various web and mobile application projects. It has been very useful in a large team when members are in remote sites (different locations). I have been able to share my progress reports and see other team member's reports when some team members are not in the office (remote).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Continue on improving User Interface.

Useful for large projects, too complicated for small issues

  • January 11, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Lots of flexibility to assign tasks, upload supporting information, and document changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are too many status types in between steps with no ability to bypass the in-between stages. The process is a bit cumbersome for small tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documenting software changes and test cases is now very thorough and allows us better visibility.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would consider whether your project size warrants the complexity of JIRA. It's better for larger projects where flowcharting and project management processes are more critical to document.

Useful but cumbersome

  • January 11, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We were able to relay information back to our developers in a much quicker and organized fashion. It became much easier to track issues over the course of weeks or months.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user experience for non-devs was a bit tough. I didn't have a problem with it but many of my older coworkers did. I know you can't cater a product to an older generation, but a more friendly UX would have helped along our productivity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used JIRA for bug tracking and it certainly helped our IT team get more organized. However, on the project management and sales side, it added an additional step to the bug tracking process that slowed down our productivity.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have a team with poor chemistry, JIRA will help improve communication. We used JIRA hoping it would improve the process of relaying information to our developers, but our poor communication as a company at large never improved.

<p>Affordable yet flexible workflow solution</p>

  • January 11, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Flexibilidad
Precio
La posibilidad de usarlo en muchos departamentos diferentes
Simplicidad para usuarios no técnicos
What do you dislike about the product?
Speed. Now it's a bit faster, it used to be slow (cloud version). Sometimes you need to get expertise in order to configure it, which makes sense due to its flexibility.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Software Development
Continuous Improvement
Recruiting

The main benefit is integration and being all on the same page.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you need this level of flexibility. Otherwise, there are simpler, even cheaper tools out there.

Salesforce Developer Using Jira to Collaborate and Solve User Issues

  • January 11, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the Jira Rapidboard thing (Scrum Board). It allows me to simply drag and drop tickets on customize column we created for easy process and tracking. Collaboration, tracking and amendments is now easy through the comments section of each ticket. Also the rich api's of the tool is really awesome, integration to Salesforce is also possible which makes me love this tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike searching tickets. It's really hard for me to search a ticket. Also the HTML thing on comments. Please make a pure text :)..
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're trying to solve proper handling of user issues. User issues are mostly send via email before. But after using JIRA, it became more organize and well tracked.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
JIRA is superb in every way. It allows you to just simply drag and drop tickets on customized column you created for ease of tracking and process of tickets. All cents worth!

What do you like best about the product?
It works perfectly in my current company, you create a ticket and get notified when an action has been taken, it really helps me follow up of specific tasks and be on top of my projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would prefer that when you upload a document or image, it will show the thumbnail of the attachment right next to your comment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project Management, I amazed how the notifications of JIRA help me not to miss anything.
Recommendations to others considering the product:

Decent project management software

  • January 10, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Since everyone at our company uses it, it is consistent and easy to connect to everyone.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool seems unnecessarily bulky. It is busy visually and has a lot of layers of complexity that seem unnecessary.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing multiple projects across organizations. It is helpful for managing high-level project overviews and detailed tasks.
