Very helpful in tracking our team's value, but needs to be more simple, beautiful and intuitive
What do you like best about the product?
It's nice to have a ticketing system that keeps track of how much value you & your team bring to the company. The home dashboard and the graphic that shows projects that still need to be done is helpful. It's good to be able to quickly see past versions, and have a place to keep old versions without having to save them to your computer.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is not as beautiful or intuitive as it's potential. I think a lot more play and a more aesthetic UI would make the experience more enjoyable. The software works seamlessly, I can tell it's well engineered, but I think they need to do a redesign of the UX / UI. Trello, another app we use to manage our projects, or Google products are more enjoyable to use, because the colors, simplicity and design engages the user and doesn't feel like a 'work' app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We didn't have a way to track what my team (Creative) was bringing profit-wise. We would get contant emails from tons of teams requesting graphics, websites ect. but no one was aware of the amount of traffic and work we were putting out. Jira helped streamline that process, and prove where our work was going. It also helps us track what team member is assigned, keep track of past revisions and communicate with the person requesting.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend looking into JIRA if you need a way to track the data for the projects you're putting out there. Because I'm in a creative dept. we tend to choose more visual software, but I think it could be good for a team like ad ops that has a lot of incoming projects.
Innovcative Tool, Different Uses
What do you like best about the product?
Jira allows for different views or epics, that allow for multiple parties to include the items they need to get done. Used in different ways it allows for innovation and tracking.
What do you dislike about the product?
No theme choices, cannot personalize like other tools
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communication
JIRA helps keep things organized and easy to search
What do you like best about the product?
JIRA works great for our team in several ways, but I believe it works best for managing internal workflows that are required for customer deliverables. Year on year, we change these processes, and JIRA allows us to modify workflows, while still leaving old deliverable tickets in easily searchable form.
What do you dislike about the product?
Order of operations for setting up filters can be difficult to remember. I often find myself having to track down an internal JIRA expert to help me configure new filters.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The internal need to keep things organized. We sometimes are sending hundreds of deliverables in a day, and JIRA helps track all of our team's bandwidth.
Agile projects in a team environment
What do you like best about the product?
Jira allows for teams to work smarter on Agile projects. The ability to create user stories that can be associated with Epics for tracking large tasks makes reviewing overall projects much easier. We also have the ability to create sub tasks for stories to track dependencies tasks may have and enable users to pass larger tasks back and forth as needed. The addition of being able to integrate GitHub for pull requests associated with each story makes managing code within Jira a pleasure to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the predefined workflow of Jira takes some time to get familiar with. However, being able to adjust your methodology to the workflow doesn't take a long time to quickly get use to.

Implementing Agile principles to Web Development, Design and UX
Fantastic Tool for Tracking Issues from Inception to Completion
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use comes to mind. The interface is very intuitive and straightforward. JIRA is feature packed. As the project manager on a large maintenance and development project, I am able to use most of the features. I have a rather extensive dashboard with great visualizations of projects and statuses. For example, I have three separate projects in JIRA. One is for all of our field maintenance issues, one for software maintenance issues, and one for our software development projects. Within each of these projects exists issues that my team members can tackle individually. Each issue is given a ticket number. Each ticket can be filled with comments, pictures, and files. My developers can log the time they spent on this issue. There are statuses that the developers can select ("In Progress", "To Do", etc). After using JIRA to track issues for over a year, we can search previous problem and see how they were solved.
What do you dislike about the product?
JIRA is feature packed. However, I haven't found a way to set reminders or calendar events within JIRA. This would make my life so much easier as I can schedule my resources accurately. Ideally, I'd like to open a ticket and add it to a developer's calendar. Or open a ticket and set a reminder on my own calendar. Currently, I'm setting up separate alerts and reminders on Microsoft Outlook. If the feature was within JIRA, I believe my work efficiency would improve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using JIRA on one hand for issue tracking and solutions. On the other hand, I'm using it as a project management tool to manage software development projects from start to finish.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're dealing with a lot of isolated issues, this is a great tool for tracking those issues to completion. From a project management standpoint, JIRA has a lot of helpful features. There are still areas of that can be improved, but I've very much enjoyed my experience. I believe JIRA is headed in the right direction - recently I was informed that Kanban boards can be implemented into the project. This tells me that the JIRA developers understand deficiencies and are taking steps to correct them.
Also the fact that JIRA exists on the cloud means that you can use it on any device from anywhere.

JIRA - Very Effective & Quick
What do you like best about the product?
Its a very user friendly tool and effective in managing, tracking & logging issues. The assignment happens without delay and it sends out email immediatley. The real time report is big advantage. Document upload & attchments are added advantage.
What do you dislike about the product?
The looks are little clumsy. But as you get used to it in few days its a very handy tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking issues, its progress. Assignment of tasks helps business to track issues & progress of development.. Collective reports in real time is very effecive of management.

You can send notification to all stake holders by tagging them using @name.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not good for tracking incidents and production changes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1) Project updates (Progress made, tasks completed)
2) Deployment requests for lower environments.
3) Project allocation to resources
4) Logging defects in App testing and including triage results
5) One of the best features of the JIRA tool, I liked, is that it has features to log daily status and update everyone on your state.
6) If you are waiting on something from a colleague, you can always tag him/ her, and he will get a notification. Tagging Managers for the status update or if help needed/ or escalations done with ease.

JIRA Review
What do you like best about the product?
JIRA allows multiple users to monitor the product development lifecycle without having to collaborate in person. You can manage agile boards and contribute/remove input for the entire team.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a learning curve with JIRA. If you haven't utilized this type of product in the past, it can take some time to get to know the product and learn how it will apply to your business. However, once you get past this hurdle it is an extremely useful product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're solving the problem of not having everyone on our development team on the same page. I've realized several benefits including easy communication, quicker turnaround time in the Business/IT relationship, and increased development quality.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure that everyone is familiar with the product before rolling it out to the larger group!
JIRA in the workplace
What do you like best about the product?
The fact that I can track multiple projects over time and then go back and see any issues that arose is very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some aspects of the UI are strange. For example, why can't I remove a project from high priority status after it's completed?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of all the projects that go on. We've seen more transparency throughout the company.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get one person on your team to really understand every aspect of the software.
Sensible project management system for development projects
What do you like best about the product?
The platform is very comprehensive and allows for efficient the management of all sorts of software development and marketing projects. Initially, it takes a bit of an adjustment but once you get used to it, it's pretty easy to find your way around the platform and figure out all the different functionalities it offers. Roles are assigned very easily, and the comments functionality helps eliminate a lot of unnecessary email communication. All changes made to a project can be tracked easily for better accountability and higher productivity.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira is not ideal for marketing projects, however, it does the job when necessary. Formatting options are rather counter-intuitive. Closing a Jira issue is also a hassle - there are a lot of unnecessary steps (that's especially valid when dealing with simpler, short-term projects). For some file types attached to a Jira issue, there is no visualization/preview available and you need to actually download the file in order to view it, wich is not very time-efficient. Searching for an issue or a project by keyword can also be improved as it does yield search results but they are not always 100% accurate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jira to organize all of our various software development and marketing projects. It allows us for clear and transparent communication; keeps teams organized and on track with deadlines, and generally enhances the work process. With Jira, the entire company has access to every project that is being worked on, and this allows for better workforce distribution and improved team performance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely give it a try if you need a reliable project management system.
