Intuitive and User Friendly
What do you like best about the product?
I like status tracking of all ongoing projects. It provides a clean high level outlook on all ongoing updates. The comments section for each issue is another great feature that prevents important information from being lost in email chains.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it can be difficult to make clear that a certain bug or issue is related to a previous issue
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need a more organized process with short term goals that feed into a larger and longer term vision. This creates that exact environment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As a client of a web developer using JIRA this is a great way to get real time feedback from our web developer on what is being accomplished. The sprints have allowed us to complete larger amounts of work in a shorter amount of time because of the targeted focus with each sprint. It also allows us to create a back log of work that is not lost by focus on another aspect of our website.
Like jira
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it keeps information in one spot.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to load scripts in without a template format
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are keeping stats on test scripts
Crappy UX/UI
What do you like best about the product?
Works okay- there are better systems out there. Needs updating.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI could use a serious revamp. Looks outdated, and functions could be better executed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Used for web dev project management. Just didn't have all the features we need, with too many that we didn't.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do your homework, check out some other platforms and do a trial.
JIRA for teams
What do you like best about the product?
As a team, you can plan, design, track, and follow up each task in its most detailed minutiae on any given project, regardless of the size of the project.
What do you dislike about the product?
how to get other users to follow through without having to babysit them!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
testing the design and function of software for medical research professionals; updating the software for different clients or different projects as they change; the benefits come from realizing feasibility in a real setting where time might be limited or wifi isn't very readily available. Prioritization is also another key benefit using JIRA.
Need to keep your team up to date with all projects?
What do you like best about the product?
This service is terrific. In our busy web and application design environment we keep the whole team updated with all projects to make sure that deadlines are met. We have been using Jira for 4 years now and we are always able to keep each one of the projects that we get on our table always up to date and well documented.
What do you dislike about the product?
At this moment there is no much about Jira that we do not like. Again, we have been using it for very long and are happy with the results it has yielded so far.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the past before Jira, there were projects that will get ignored and left out of the bunch. With jira, projects are always visible on our table and we are able to take them and make sure they get completed by the end of the deadline.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a way to manage your employees and keep your self on top of project management this is a great choice for your business. We work in a university environment solving all kinds of issues and tickets and this application has helped our team to stay on top of our tasks.
Greatest asset is greatest weakness
What do you like best about the product?
Jira's customization options are myriad. I've used this platform for several different projects at a couple different companies and have configured Jira in vastly different manners for each. From a customer support ticketing portal, to agile software development, to asset creation pipeline, Jira's flexibility is laudable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Oh man, it can be such a pain in the butt to get Jira projects locked down the way the team needs them to be. With all the workflows, schema, permissions, etc., being a Jira admin take a while to get up to speed and is very time consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task and bug tracking, milestone scheduling and planning.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have an admin is experienced or has the time and support necessary to get up to speed on the minutiae of Jira unless you're satisfied with the default parameters.
Jira - brand marketing review
What do you like best about the product?
Streamlined way to keep track of stakeholders' progress and input on a single project. The comments section allows multiple people to weigh-in and provide feedback and input in a clear, organized manner and the notifications to my email keep me looped-in on updates in real time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Navigating your dashboard and finding tickets through search yields unreliable results. This system is not responsive or instinctive enough for me to be as efficient as possible. There also nuances like the reporter needing to be a watcher to have an optimal experience that are not clear to new users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Jira mostly for project management: creating, managing, and coordinating marketing-related assets for my clients. Other stakeholders I work with will also include me on tickets for me to oversee and give feedback/approvals.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have someone with experience give you a tour on how to use this system and find your own way of keeping track of all your tickets so you can find them - only really searchable by the ticket number.
Great for project management
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is for me to keep track of all the issues our team is working on. I'm able to easily track the workflow progress and see who I have assigned to each issue. I love being able to filter the data to show how much we have done over the years, use it to track employee progress and performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
The boards are difficult to configure without SQL knowledge. I wish I could more easily track how long an employee is working on an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I receive requests to enter the CVs for incoming faculty members and I'm tasked with assigning those CVs to three different employees and myself. We have three weeks to complete each request. Jira allows me to keep track of the requested information and make sure we are completing requests on time. Jira allows us to track and compare year over year, how many CV Early Entry Requests are being submitted. This allows us to look back at previous years and months so we know what to expect for the future. It has allowed us to show how our workload has increased to show the need to hire another employee to help with data entry. We could easily show this need because of the ability to filter the data to meet our needs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
JIRA is a great product for your issue and bug tracking. I wouldn't be able to complete my job as well as I do without it.
Every feature and more
What do you like best about the product?
There are definitely no lack of features! We used this for project management and bug tracking and it was very customizable.
What do you dislike about the product?
There was one dedicated person who had to run the software as a full time job. There were so many customizations that she was constantly trying to give people permissions or get things set up the way we wanted it. It was not very easy to use and the learning curve was huge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The project management side of things was pretty helpful but the bug tracking was primarily what I used it for. I liked the filtering options so I could find bugs relevant to just me.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Know that the learning curve is large and it will take a bit of time to get the software doing exactly what you want it to do.
Nice tool for project maangement
What do you like best about the product?
I really do like the fact that JIRA perfectly fit for full agile scrum methodology or kanban methodology and when you run several project withi several team (with different methodology. Able to deal with both project mangement and bugfixing.
Managing all on JIRA avoid to use many other tools.
Managing all on JIRA avoid to use many other tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the fact that you have to reconnect quite often so on daily basis it can be annoying, but this is a really small default
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JIRA enables global overwiew and enables to manage all operation so for customers, and this means better visibility.
