Great Software

  • January 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I especially appreciate using Jira because of the board using the to do, in progress, QA, done columns that agile is built around. It's great for tracking progress and the speed at which products are developed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira is very cumbersome and takes some time to get used to and learning all the included features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to determine the best workflow and pinpoint a common ground between project managers and developers when it comes to titling, describing, and assigning tickets. Jira allows us to communicate effectively and fix mistakes quickly.

What do you dislike about the product?
the color theme could be updated to something more modern.

Able to quickly recognize and assign IT Tickets to the appropriate parties and receive necessary updates.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great product and highly recommended.

JIRA is an inexpensive product, but ultimately we needed more

  • January 24, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It was inexpensive and easy to install, update and use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Used for ticketing purposes and founded it cumbersome particularly with responses and status updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wiki, ticketing, and document repository.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would think if this product is still around that it has more features and has been updated. We used a version from a few years ago and it doesn't appear it is as up to date as competitive products. I think it is useful for a small business like us, but ultimately we outgrew it.

Used JIRA for Marketing Team at a Software Development Company

  • January 24, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JIRA worked well for us in Marketing because the rest of the company (a software development company w/ lots of developers and different product teams made up of developers) were also using JIRA. It allowed the company to mostly work on the same platform and have visibility into different projects and sprints. We were able to mention members of different teams in different departments across the system.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think JIRA is truly meant to be a Marketing team's project management tool. There are others that I've used such as Wrike or Workfront that have the marketer in mind. JIRA was definitely stronger when planning sprints for developers and scrum masters.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping teams on task, tracking campaign progress, working cross-departmentally with other teams
Recommendations to others considering the product:
JIRA can be used for marketing teams/project management but I don't think it is the best tool for the job. Note that if the rest of your company is already using JIRA and you would like a tool that provides cross-departmental communication and visibility into tracking/ bug fixes, this tool will get the job done. We made the tool work for us in a way that met our needs as a marketing team.

    Computer Software

Reliable but a bit too noisy (user interface)

  • January 24, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira has a great query language which allows you to filter for the exact information you need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira is meant for larger organizations. For a small organization that is looking for a quick and simple solution too much configuration is needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User story management in the contect of a SCRUM development team.

very user friendly, nice user interface, easy collaboration
What do you dislike about the product?

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used Jira to track bugs and also for project management, following SCRUM
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Must try once and learn

Very complete tool!

  • January 24, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira is a complete project management tool for teams of software development. Very good for both complex and simple projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
however, for simpler projects I would reccommend trello, which has been bought by the same company owns jira.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We do software development, and we are filling a gap in the market which is the outsourcing for software development.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Study it before implementing.

Fluency of workflow

  • January 24, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira ability to track items through queries and using numerous fields and labels to tag the tickets and integration with confluence inorder to maintain product's roadmap and issue tracker with different graphs and pie-charts statistics are awesome
What do you dislike about the product?
not able to integrate lots of other tracking channels with jira like AHA - we can track through jira in AHA but vice-versa is not possible
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we are handling our roadmaps and list tickets through jira and customise workflow architecture helps in company's tracking progress a lot
Recommendations to others considering the product:
if you are using Jira then use kanban boards for tracking product development and confluence for roadmap and zendesk for supports issues
