JIRA's ease of use is it's strongest selling point as the learning curve is not steep.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setting up reports can be a little tricky as configuration can be complex.

Project management by a multi-disciplinary development team. Productivity and efficiency have both been enhanced as the management of tasks is much easier than the previous product we used.

Allows collaboration across all team members as issues are identified, prioritized and worked to resolution.
What do you dislike about the product?
Report for project status meetings is clunky.

Great tool for planning and execution

  • January 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira is a great tool for activites planning and execution. It can be used both to short or long term software product increment.
The Scrum based management is also a must for our team, since its the default software development metodology in our company.
Beyound that, there are great tools for manager and clients, like charts and reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since there are too many features in Jira, its learning curve is rather slow. Newcommers have a hard time learning all the features. This sometives make people stop using it.
The design could be more clean, and the software itself coud be more intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it to track bugs, planning software product incremens, in short or long term, manage the software development lifecycle and to status report to our customers.
The key benefits we could summarize are:
- Unique interface for developers, manager and customers
- Ubiquous access
- Tools which cover all software developmente lifecycle
- Great agility when using the Boards features
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jira is a great tool. It has a lot of feature, but I recommend to start using just the sprint and board features. Then, you can slowly learn new features and put into your company software development lifecycle.

JIRA makes it easy to manage projects - but too much info!

  • January 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
ease of tracking projects and reporting issues. Alerts are another important feature that i think is useful, so is the comments that act as discussion boards for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
too much information tends to make JIRA overly complicated. There are many reports and one easily gets lost in all the mayhem!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management and Bug reporting mainly. We run multiple projects and JIRA helps us to ensure we run all of them smoothly. Time estimate recording is also something that we have found useful when we are doing resource planning.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
JIRA makes project management and bug reporting and tracking much easier. It also makes estimation process for individual user stories simpler. However, too many workflows sometimes make simple things complex, and that's something one needs to be aware of. Reporting is extremely powerful, but again, too much information makes things complicated.

JIRA is a great tool for user stories and requirements for projects

  • January 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's clear and transparent way of communication across service lines. We use the tool to report bugs and also requirements for projects, from using JIRA the business is more lined up and the process is clear.

We have also customised dashboards for each project which means that people across the business can get detail and understand progression without having to drill down to the detail if they not require to do so.
What do you dislike about the product?
Too many email notifications, much prefer to use a JIRA dashboard.

Dashboard require a consultant or a specialist in the business to set-up and operate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Requirements for projects used to be stored on Excel sheets and only technical requirements would be put on JIRA.

This meant there was not one source to go to and requirements were complicated to track and we found due to traceability that some requirements were missed.

This new approach has had a huge benefit and enhanced the requirements process to be more robust.

Jira works magic

  • January 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
If you utilize Jira for what it is and figure ways to integrate it with other productivity tools like Slack, Aha!, github/bitbucket you suddenly have a great product development (doesn't matter cloud, Mobile, software).

It's great to set a roadmap in Aha! and then figure a way integrate Jira so when developers and engineers add features, knock out sprints, you start to build a nice process oriented continuous development product management and product development organization. And this can be small, medium, or large enterprises.
What do you dislike about the product?
It only integrates some things with these other tools. And it becomes annoying in Slack, but that's more a slack issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Develop a well oiled machine like continuous process development organizational structure that is organized and on point.
