Overwhelming, but good for the task
What do you like best about the product?
The amount of features, the JIRA Query language for searching bugs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The overwhelming amount of features, it's easy to get lost if nobody's guiding you.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bug tracking, we needed a way to track bugs and their solutions, as the support team was getting bigger and bigger. It's perfect for such a task, but sometimes the amount of fields and features makes you not want to fill them all in.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure your team is big enough and at least someone is experienced with it.
Works, but feels outdated
What do you like best about the product?
I love that it keeps me updated with all project happenings (i.e. automatic emails when any changes or updates are made) and a running log is always up for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
Making any changes to the project requires LOTS of clicks and it doesn't always feel well organized. The interface itself also could use some work. It's bland, dark, and reminds me of a product form the 80's in appearance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it as an easy way to cross-team, cross country, cross time zone, manage and solve data issues. It's been a wonderful alternative to using Salesforce.
Nice tool
What do you like best about the product?
Everything, works very well with Tastrail
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it's not so easy to search for particular issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bugs, Test Plans
Best Tool For Scrum
What do you like best about the product?
The Interface and how well it is organised to accomodate your scrum needs
What do you dislike about the product?
the pricing plan looks a little bit strange. till 10 we pay 10 bucks and then whole lot of money for the 11th one !?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
the Project Management and the interactions with our customers are going on pretty smooth!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
consider using whole package of Atlassian. (Confluence, Bamboo, Tempo and .....)
JIRA is great for issue tracking.
What do you like best about the product?
Issue tracking and accountability is at the forefront of my use case here. It's good to get people working on the correct issues to make sure that people's time isn't being wasted and that people are being used in the correct way. It really helps to move on issues and also get other members of the team involved by getting as many eyes on the situation as possible.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much to dislike as this product is a very straightforward system, you input issues and bugs and you track them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping clients in the know about their project with the right security is a blessing with this product. The user management system makes it such a simple task.

Perfect for Agile
What do you like best about the product?
Integrates with Salesforce, not seamlessly but users do not have to switch back and forth. Decent tool for project management.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have any dislikes of the product. Each project I've been on has used Jira.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently running projects using Kanban and creating tasks in Jira. I use Jira as a project management platform, tracking, running and generating results.
keeping track of new features/tasks, bugs.
What do you like best about the product?
Tracking of any development features, or bugs is very simple in jira. You can log the work, It is very good for scrum development life cycle. You can raise the tickets for new features, tasks, or bugs and assign it to the list of persons available. Also, you can tag you work with the team name. Comments in jira are very helpful. You can attach files, screenshots of bugs. You can also attach the log file.
What do you dislike about the product?
It took sometime to figure out everything in jira, but once you understand the workflow it is lot easier to work with jira. JIRA is hard to configure for agile development. Also, its UI is not user friendly. I didn't find any other drawbacks of jira.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using the jira for tracking the software development project. Creates subtask in already created task and assign it to the designated person. Creating new features and tracking it in JIRA is very easy. You can simply check your dashboard for the assigned tasks or bugs which needs to be completed without going through the list of all tasks.
JIRA
What do you like best about the product?
Works well for managing tickets for teams. Having the ability to integrate with Subversion makes tracking changes easy
What do you dislike about the product?
The search features could be improved, it is sometimes hard to track down tickets for keywords in title or description of said ticket.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
No business problems to be solved, I am a web developer and current user of Jira for bug tracking and ticket assigning.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jira works well with Subversion repository and can be customized to your needs.
In the newest version you can now use Planning boards with JQL. We are now able to reply to emails sent from Jira and it will update the ticket on the site. This is just one of the many enhancements that can be tailored to your liking

JIRA Used for Project Oversight
What do you like best about the product?
My team uses JIRA to capture user stories, track bugs, and record time. Having everything in one place is very useful, and for our company, which is a mid-market software company, we were able to make JIRA work for our Professional Services group in place of a more comprehensive (more expensive) platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira is primarily a issue tracking tool, and we've had to create some work-arounds to get it to work in the way we needed. But overall, that's the only thing I "dislike" at all. I'm a big fan.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As noted above, we are using JIRA to manage our project work as well as our issue management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I am happy to recommend JIRA to anyone considering it for project management.
