Handy tool for tracking tasks

  • January 29, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use this heavily to track daily tasks across our team. This product provides insights on the team's progress in form of Velocity charts, scope change and completion. Very useful in case one is multi-tasking on multiple areas simultaneously.

Great way to track dependencies, by linking tasks/stories with other team(s).
What do you dislike about the product?
Ability to specify that a Story was partially complete (like a percentage), and the remaining percentage would be continued as part of the next Sprint.

No integration with Jetbrains UpSource (Code Review tool)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Efficient tracking of daily tasks and dependencies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great product to track daily tasks. We learned many features with due course of time. Search for best practices for the product.

Amazing for dev teams, great kanban options for any team

  • January 29, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Our dev team recently adopted Jira and the difference in ease of submitting tickets and collaborating across departments is absolutely night and day. Tickets are easy to submit, follow, and receive updates on, and our dev team uses the heck out of the "swim lanes" (aka kanban flow.) Total game changer for our company.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly I'd have to say that this tool is better for one-off tasks than for managing complex projects (as I like to use Basecamp for.) Having said that, it's great at what it is/does and has awesome options for customization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simple cross-department ticket submissions, receiving support tickets from external clients, and even tracking individual tasks (as a replacement for Wunderlist, et al.)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for a simple ticketing system or a one-at-a-time task assigning/tracking system, Jira is A+. It's got a ton of features that I haven't even tried yet, but in those two areas specifically it's excellent.

JIRA makes workflow better, search needs some work

  • January 28, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JIRA handles workflow well for users that need to hand a task off multiple times until completion. I like the clean, simple design and user interface for JIRA. I love that JIRA is web-based--it's simple to open a ticket from my mobile phone to check a quick status or even open a desktop view on my phone and take action.
What do you dislike about the product?
Search is not "google" quality yet. Filters and JQL take time to learn. I don't like the time it takes myself and others around me to feel comfortable with the tool, mostly due to not understanding how to search or create dashboards. It still feels a little too "engineering" designed at this time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My company uses JIRA to handle task management, support ticketing, office requests and more. Using the tool across the entire company keeps us organized in a similar fashion.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you train users on search functions and workflows the rest is very intuitive.

JIRA is a fantastic tool to manage development projects

  • January 28, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
At DCI Group, I found JIRA to be a fantastic tool to streamline our design and development processes between multiple teams. Creating tickets allowed our team to keep our projects organized and on track. In today's work culture, we heavily rely on e-mail to communicate, and messages can get lost in the shuffle. JIRA streamlines all of your projects by number, allows you to move them from "backlog" to "current sprint" based on priority, and track the progress. Additionally, whenever a team member pings you in JIRA, it auto forwards to your email which is great if you do not keep it open in your browser. I love JIRA and would recommend to a colleague.
What do you dislike about the product?
I found the workflow tool to be cumbersome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating websites on time and on budget.

Good project management tool

  • January 28, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira supports multiple projects and has a very friendly UI. It's a great tool to track the issues, the progress of the current development and time spent for each sprint or release. Jira has a very extensive user access control, so it's easy to set up correct permission to all members of the team. It also can be integrated with github.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a bit of time to set up and feel comfortable with the system. Despite on a friendly UI not everything is intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it to:
- create sprints for each week
- track the progress of sprints
- manage releases
- as a bug tracker
- track the time spend for each task
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a nice management tool that can be easily customised for different types of projects and it has a very good UI.
