What do you dislike about the product?
The basics are great but you do need more skills to use the rest of the tools.
Jira enails users every time you do anything on a ticket... That includes modifying a small typo and highlights your change, that could get very annoying.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go ahead with Jira if your organization is working on development. Jira does not have any issue with Data back up or work flow complications. Jira has a Tour feature where anyone can understand how to handle. Task board like Kanban is excellent tool where users can drag and drop the ticket easily and email will trigger on the same to respective person and for the Monitor as well. Search is user friendly

Search could be better and flow easier. With so many tickets in Jira it's hard to find what you are looking for.

Used for development ticket management. Helps teams easily prioritize tasks and track them .

JIRA drives process and discipline
What do you like best about the product?
JIRA is a thorough and complete tracking system that supports product development and delivery. Use of it reinforces discipline and adherence to standards.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UX is a little tedious and cumbersome at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Better visibility and transparency into the progress (or lack of) made during the development process.
Keeps our team on task and on target
What do you like best about the product?
I like seeing how an entire project is shaping up by looking at everyone's tasks at once. Then, I break it down one person at a time and go through each task with the individual to see how they're doing and how long they've been working on it. It helps us meet our deadlines. The columns are great at getting a quick glimpse of where each task stands.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira is a bit clunky and confusing until you get the hang of it. The creation and moving things along takes a lot of steps. It's not as clean and bold as other project management programs I've seen, but once you get used to it, it's very effective and works.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are moving projects along quickly. We are better able to keep track when someone is falling behind on a task, and adjust accordingly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a reliable and solid program. Shop around and make sure it fits your company's needs.
Feature Rich, Complex and sometimes not user friendly
What do you like best about the product?
Extensibility. You can make Jira do a ton of different things. Its API is generally useful to integrate into other systems. Addons can really add a lot of functionality.
What do you dislike about the product?
User interface is hard to use in various areas. It's missing a vital notification area which makes it very noisy in your inbox. Addons can really addon to your TOC so keep an eye on them. JIRA admins are a thing.. so you have to have a resident expert or two in house.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We track all our work and our time in JIRA. We have many products/projects so Jira always us to run each one just the way we want.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do multiple trials and proof of concepts until you see everything you need from it. You will most likely want/need an addon or two so go in eyes wide open. Also .. use the hosted version if you are a smaller shop and have lower security requirements.
A handy documentation/scheduling tool
What do you like best about the product?
JIRA makes it easy to keep comments relating to one issue all together in one page.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can sometimes be hard to tell what attached documents are the most relevant and what is outdated. It's also sometimes hard to record all relevant information on this page, as work might occur elsewhere and progress happens behind the scenes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's easier to keep track of customer-related work that relies on a schedule across teams. It's also nice to see related issues linked to tickets.
