JIRA is an excellent choice for small/medium development teams

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Backlogs, Sprint Planning, Workflows. Everything is customizable to achieve any team's needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Time tracking functionality is not good enough. Need to use third-party plugins to get a better result.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving communication issues between Management, Development and Q&A. Information about Sprints and Backlogs are now visible and accessible to everyone.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you plan to keep track of agile teams, this software will help you achieve this goal.

What do you like best about the product?
For the price, you can't go wrong. We host ourselves so the 10 bucks a year is a bargain.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not the easiest of software to use. I am not a developer so perhaps a more technical person would find it easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were looking for a way to track bugs during the development of my software.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Could be useful for you. At the price if you host yourself, I would highly recommend trying it out.

Huge amount of features if you know how to use them

  • March 31, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
integration for your team and a place to keep all things related to a project, team, or task
What do you dislike about the product?
the software is super complex and can de daunting to understand all the features that it has.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
communication and tracking. this is the hardest thing to keep track of. as projects go on, things get complicated and jira is a great place to keep track of it all - if you use it right
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to get some training with it. it can do a lot if you want it to. or it can be a usless tool that you never use.

You get what you pay for

What do you like best about the product?
it is very inexpensive. The iPhone app works much better than the web app.
What do you dislike about the product?
lack of functionality. If I receive a bug report from a user through a normal email that happens to include a screen grab, I have to save that image as a file in order to upload it. Would not be an issue if I only had to use it once. Am not a developer, but the infrastructure guy. Honestly, I am very frustrated with this product and would dump it in a heartbeat, but it is not my decision. Personally, I use other software to track my internal tasks as this software is so clunky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have an issue tracking system that keeps end-users updated with status changes. We can justify our existence.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you only need basic issue tracking for almost no cost, then JIRA is your method. iPhone app works great and is so much better than the web app.

Non-developers had a hard time with the user interface.

The development team is communicating far more effectively than before.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it! It is incredible.

All pur projects in company are made through JIRA.

  • March 29, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The integration with other tools like Confluence.
A lot of fields and options to insert details of tasks.
Admin privileges are good to have so that users dont mess up things.
What do you dislike about the product?
The visual separation between the story and bugs need a little work.
Sometimes it is hard to tell if I am looking at a story or task or a bug.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing all the development work.
Planning the releases and tracking the progress.

I'm a big fan

  • March 28, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to tag users in comments as well as being able to directly assign cases to resources
What do you dislike about the product?
search functionality is somewhat lacking/not intuitive. As a result my team often opens new tickets up for issues that have been previously logged.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We implement supply chain software for our clients. Specifically my team rolls out our Warehouse Management software at distribution centers. We leverage Jira to track bugs with our R&D team
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's good for issue tracking and code maintenance. If your looking for a tool pull reports easily or dynamically add columns to issues lists, this is not the tool. Salesforce would be a better bet.
