useful once you are familiar with it.
What do you like best about the product?
It does a good job of linking bugs, stories, and tasks. It also tracks (when used properly) the time spent on tasks and gives very useful reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you don't know what it can do you can miss out on a lot of functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is very useful in tracking Sprint tasks and giving good reports on Sprint progress.
JIRA Review
What do you like best about the product?
Though JIRA is a closed source program, it has much wider API possibilities and more varied plugin infrastructure which can offer more opportunities to customize the tool for the requirements of your business
What do you dislike about the product?
JIRA should go open source like its rival Redmine. JIRA does not have a built-in source control integrated wiki
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Court system applications that consist of multiple city departments to communicate via REST APIs. JIRA is better for bigger business platforms (e.g. Includes several projects
Great integrated issue management tool
What do you like best about the product?
For me it's the number of integrations JIRA has that make it indispensable. From GitHub to Salesforce, JIRA integrates with just about everything (not all for free). It also has nice kaban boards for managing project flow or measuring sprint progress.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's fairly simple to stand up a cloud instance and start using it if the general settings work for you, but if you need custom work flows it can require quite a bit of work to setup. There are also couple of limitations on the cloud based JIRA. For example there is no way to close really old tickets. There's also no way to assign new issues to a queue of users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For us JIRA solves a couple of problems keeping track of issues and managing the work of our dev team.
Strong tactical agile devlopement supporting tool
What do you like best about the product?
cloud based. easy to create new projects. pricing was decent relative to other applications
What do you dislike about the product?
the user experience. awful to navigate through
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
hard to quantify. it certainly saved some administrative time
Versatile and friendly
What do you like best about the product?
Jira tickets are easily linked and set with dependencies. If any ticket number is referenced within the text of a Jira, it's automatically hyperlinked to the referenced ticket.
Has Customizable workflow based on ticket type.
Has Customizable workflow based on ticket type.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, nothing much. Dashboards are convenient but it's a bit tricky to default yours.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Much better control over development management and workflow.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try.
Has lots of other services that can be linked for additional features
What do you like best about the product?
How well it can be scaled to have additional features by connecting it up to either Confluence, Bitbucket, Github, etc ... I love customizing also with the API to integrate with other services not already supported up front with Atlassian. Mostly used with other internal web tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
With lots of features comes complexity. Some things I still haven't figured out yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Issue tracking at its finest. Very easy to communicate through it and share sources for internal solutions on our issues tracked.
An excellent issue/bug tracking software
What do you like best about the product?
Jira is so fast at being able to log new bugs and has an excellent workflow management capability, allowing to chose what type of project is created, create sprints and also implement versioning.
The software is so easy to install, support is great and has great reporting and role based functions.
The software is so easy to install, support is great and has great reporting and role based functions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Somewhat over complex for new users and also some of the reports require a bit of understanding.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prior to Jira we didn't have any issue tracking software specifically aimed for development and was all logged in separate places including spreadsheets. We now have a centralised place to store all the issues and defects, allowing us to role them all up into sprints. Definitely recommend
Jira has been great for improving our development process
What do you like best about the product?
Jira is very flexible and has many integrations. There are lot's of plugins that are also useful. We love how easy it is to use the kanban board and sprints and to set up different teams and workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has a steep learning curve and to a novice, can be daunting. I wish it allowed you to collaborate cross project a little better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task management for our development process
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get someone to dedicate their time to learn how to use it.
Very good project management tool
What do you like best about the product?
It is really well set up for keyboard shortcuts and very flexible.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to learn how to use JIRA with a cold start.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management across many people and teams.

Helpful, But Not Intuitive
What do you like best about the product?
JIRA is the ticketing tool preferred by a lot of the web developers that we work with. As far as task management, it has a better designed UI than most, and has a lot of components that are quite helpful when working with a team (such as commenting, ability to add files and images, and ability to add multiple watchers). The customization of project details (such as priority, resolution, type, etc.) is also very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've found that JIRA isn't very intuitive and takes quite a bit of learning. I use JIRA on a limited number of projects and am still learning my way around things. I find that it's a little too difficult to perform basic operations like viewing my tasks (mostly because I always forget how to find them). I'm sure that once I get acquainted I'll enjoy it, but I have to admit that I've lost interest in the process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JIRA is a great tool for working with developers. As a designer, it's been a helpful tool to keep track of what problems have been solved, which are in progress, and which are backlogged.
