Good but not great

  • May 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the email notifications and collaboration
What do you dislike about the product?
Just kind of ugly and clunky to use, I have trouble sorting through everything and visually it all looks the same, it's just a wall of content.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ticketing system, coordinating projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jira is really a weird combo of bare bones simple plus some complicated confusing things. Look at the features. Pair with another program for keeping track of richer data.

Simple, easy to use

What do you like best about the product?
The search function is great and makes it easy to find older issues for later reference.
What do you dislike about the product?
Atlassian always sends an automatic update to everybody on the watch list, even when minor edits (spelling mistakes) are made. It'd be great to have an option to not send an email upon update.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
General engineering issues - feature requests, bug reports, etc.

The best tool for the project management

  • May 20, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the way that the task are created and assigned to people. And also I find very intuitive how the people can log hours against a task. Also I think that as project management is one of the best. It's very good and makes the experience very close to the one in real life while a project is going on.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it's very difficult to go through the tasks for each sprint. also the mechanism to drag and drop sometimes fails and it's not simple to restore the previous situation. Anyway we're still talking about a great tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management
Recommendations to others considering the product:
NA

Great product for agile

  • May 17, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira has allowed us to easily manage our development backlog, and track statistics on our Sprints to help us measure productivity. Would highly recommend for other agile teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only thing I would like to see is a feature to more easily track and schedule large projects for the future, develop the product road map. There are add-ins you can purchase but nothing included.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used to take hours in spreadsheets to rearrange priorities and stack-rank tasks, which can now be done by dragging items up and down the backlog list. I can also effectively gauge the amount of work required for each larger project by grouping the incidents together and viewing total points it will take to complete. The reporting tool helps me evaluate our velocity so that I can more effectively give time estimates to customers and 3rd parties for project completion.

Helpful Bug & Software Development Tracker

  • May 17, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira is an efficient and useful bug/development tracking tool for any company in its beginning stages. You can use the various dashboards to track bugs, product features, design features, and even for non-technical goals (though there are other companies that probably have better tools for this, such as Trello or Pipedrive). Each issue that is placed on the dashboard is assigned a specific number, making them easily searchable. Issues can be very easily edited and commented on, and it is useful to know how issues have moved throughout the varied boards and the time it takes to resolve to develop them.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that there is no voting feature for Jira besides "upvotes". There should be a system of upvotes and downvotes (such as in Reddit).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira is great for tracking new product features, design features, and non-technical goals. There is far more transparency across the company as you can assign issues to specific people and see what everyone is working on at any given time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jira is perfect for startups and young companies where change is constant. I would not use Jira if there aren't consistent product updates and features being released.

JIRA is perfect tool for issue tracking and release management.

  • May 16, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JIRA is easy to use and all configuration can be done easily from the front-end. And in addition to the great usability, JIRA has a great community of users that can support you when you need it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Marketplace add-ons are always targeting the newest versions and this is not feasible in most cases, upgrading jira, although it is free, is not a viable option because the development team highly rely on jira to track releases and any downtime or new bugs coming with the new version is not appreciated, so we only upgrade when there is a major package is out. But it is not Atlassian's option to force add on developers to support older versions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Issues log tracking, bug fix tracking and release management are the main functionalities that we are using and this solves the clingy email back and forth for issue tracking and makes our release management SSA-E16 compliant.

Good bug/project tracking solution

  • May 15, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is a good way to track specific bugs and projects with details from multiple users. It allows for details including adding attachments as well as calling out specific individuals. It is great that everyone can be on the same page to see progress or to submit insights or new information on the bug or task.
What do you dislike about the product?
For the most partm, I don't see anything really lacking right now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This is great tool to track all projects and tasks for the customer requests we receive. It allows multiple users to chime in with detail. I am able to stay organized and up to date with different tasks so I can update the customer as new information is provided.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think it is great to give a try. I have not used a lot of solutions in this space, but it seems to be quite helpful.
