The system is fast, look simple and clean. Extensible
What do you dislike about the product?
Easy to start complicating the UI when adding plugins. For example, we added a chart to the dashboard which is very slow

Bug tracking and documentation
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take time to simplify the default and resist the urge to add stuff

Jira review

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira is a perfect tracking tool that can be used across projects and by all team members. Jira has multiple boards for Scrum and Kanban way of working. Overall Jira is a perfect tool for projects working on Agile framework. Jira can also be used for bug tracking and assigning the bugs to different teams and the team members will update the bugs as there any sort of progress or if the bugs are resolved. One can quickly set up new boards for new projects and the teams can start updating and keep going.
What do you dislike about the product?
As we do the Jira Configurations as per project requirements, Further the notification feature that is been used for most features generates many mails.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking projects working on Agile framework that is both Scrum and Kanban boards. Jira is very useful to track teams working across locations and in multiple timezones. Jira also assist in creating the reports for quick analysis.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend as Jira is perfect tool for Tracking and project management

The best project management tool - a bit hard to understand at first

  • July 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best is the way you can determine who is in charge of what and at what point in time.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a while to figure out how to input complex operations/processes that your company may not have had clear before trying to implement JIRA.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Like I said, who and when is in charge of what makes everything within and among departments that work together so much easier! We've realized we do have to take a 1.5-3 hour meeting every 2 weeks to review all the tasks and make sure it's all being done in time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're a small company looking into saving money and implementing JIRA, I would recommend hiring an intern/employee with project management skills and making them understand all of the processes of the department first. When all of that is laid out, with clear details of who does what and what are the tasks, then make them understand JIRA. Study JIRA, play with it and create the boards/projects/workflows with the help of the manager/person in charge of that department.

Exceptional Lightweight Project Management Solution

  • July 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JIRA provides a great ticketing system, paired with the ability to quickly generate custom views using their JQuery syntax. Their filters and Kanban boards are my favorite features. With many small projects it is invaluable to be able to quickly see an overview of the status for each of our projects, and what kind of workload is assign to each of our developers.
What do you dislike about the product?
The default workflows and permissions settings are a bit restrictive. It can be annoying to have to constantly pester our site admin when he fails to assign me the correct permissions to fully administer a project, and having to have him update the workflow is a nightmare. This may be a case of him miss-configuring site settings, but I feel this may have been less an issue if the defaults where different.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JIRA is essential to managing our developers, our workflows, and our projects. We are a small company with outside devs, and without JIRA, I would be spending most of my time managing, rather than actually designing and developing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are questioning whether of not you really need a professional ticketing/project management system; stop questioning and give JIRA a try. You'll realize how much a system like JIRA can do for you.

Great tool for Sprint Planning and Bug Tracking

  • July 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's extremely customizable and the project boards make is super easy to visually see the progression of each task within the project.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the customizable configurations can be confusing when you get started, but with a little practice it gets easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to clearly demonstrate the state of a project. The ability to track bugs and allow 3rd party resources access to projects so we can collaborate together.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want a highly customizable product this is a great choice. There is a bit of a learning curve for the admin and users as with any software. Their support team is only available via email and the response time can be slow at times.

Configurability for all project types

  • July 21, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JIRA is easy to learn how to use and is highly customizable for all the different parameters and project types in organizations. The agile board feature is excellent for Product Managers to plan work and track sprints that the team is working on. Collaboration with remote teams is made easier by the @mention capabilities in the text editors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customization creates complication! We don't have a centralized administrator for JIRA at our company and this allows teams to customize to their heart's content, creating some over-configuration in our projects. JIRA has broken down each part of the app into very specific types and schemes and these make configurations very flexible, but sometimes difficult to understand and unwind when you are trying to make changes
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing the software development lifecycle - documenting feature requirements, tracking bugs, tracking production support requests (when escalated to development), generating release notes, managing the scrum process. We are able to collaborate with our teams across borders and better track our team's velocity and blockers using JIRA
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get some admin training and understand what you are trying to use the software for. The out of the box project options are great, but you need to understand your operational constraints to use the software to its full potential. Learn JQL, it is a powerful tool for getting information about your projects.

Easy To Use Issue Tracking System

  • July 18, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy to track the workflow of my reported issues, which is especially important because I work with several different electronic systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Getting email notifications for every issue that involves my team can be quite annoying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We report issues to our software development team, and we track releases (i.e., that issues are being included in the next release/update) and status updates in JIRA. This is much better when monitoring who is working on an issue and when it will be resolved, in comparison to searching through an email inbox.
