Great functionality, hard to onboard

  • October 24, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira allows you to manage workflows and collaborate on a very deep level. It's rich with features, which makes it adaptable for a variety of businesses and applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not very intuitive. New users, as well as individual contributors who don't need to dive deep into its functionality, will probably find it frustrating. This makes it tempting to have individual contributors (such as freelancers) work outside the system, which ends up causing its own complications. It would be nice if there was a simpler interface designed for non-devs or people who are working on only a couple specific projects or boards. That way, the whole team could use the system more efficiently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communication among remote team members, simplified workflow, better communication around priorities, deadlines, and who owns tasks .

Service request documentation, testing plans, approvals for project work
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Define roles, hierarchy, dashboards.

JIRA is an effective IT ticketing system

  • October 23, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I address tickets for other system users regarding an enterprise database I administer. JIRA effectively combines clear assignment practices, clear document upload and tracking for documents I must place in the system, and a clear notification system.
What do you dislike about the product?
Interface is fine but could be a bit more user-friendly, I have to do scrolling up and down to deal with all aspects of a ticket.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IT ticketing; document tracking. We have realized significant benefits in efficient tracking of a large system with many users/ticket creators.

A software development project management solution

  • October 20, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Replaces the walls of sticky notes from the old days. JIRA’s built-in graphing makes it easy to generate and look at burn downs and track velocity. Its integration with email streamlines communications, both between the sprint team members and external parties and stakeholders.
What do you dislike about the product?
The burn down charts and projections may not emphasize the call for action by a team leader. Team members viewing the projections may turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaberation and corrdination for a major software development project.

One stop shop for managing your project

  • October 20, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to manage multiple projects, with different tasks, allocating resources and integration with bitbucket.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the UI feels overwhelming because of the number of features being offered. The UI needs to be a bit more friendly and easy on the eyes
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management and allocation of resources.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great tool. Easy to manage projects, track bugs and allocate resources. Its latest integration with trello makes it even easier to manage lanes and sprints.

Versatile bug and task tracking

  • October 20, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Single dashboard interface to all projects with lots of filtering options
What do you dislike about the product?
Could do with more common default views out of the box rather than having to setup everything yourself
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Track bugs found through internal and external testing and outstanding task on software projects
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely worth a try if you need enterprise level software for bug and task tracking
