Simple, Cheap, Robust

  • October 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best part of using JIRA are the integrations with the rest of the Atlassian software tools (Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket, & more)
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the newest (summer/fall 2017) UI updates have made it a little more difficult to figure out what i'm trying to do. I think things got a little too minimalist, which sometimes makes it hard to find what button/link i'm looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bug/issue tracking. We have realized some serious time/cost benefits by maintaining our issues in a tracker as fully featured as JIRA.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
To get the full effects of using JIRA, you should consider making use of other Atlassian products, which integrate nicely with JIRA, such as Confluence (wiki), Bamboo (CI), Bitbucket (code repository) & HipChat (messaging.communication).

Nothing! Jira worked as planned and fit all my requirements
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira was utilized for daily ticketing of bugs within the software for the developers to fix.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a trial run and I guarantee you'll enjoy using it!

From many to one - improving efficiency and doing more with JIRA

  • October 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira makes it easy for me to keep track of hundreds of issues spread across dozens of projects. I can group them in an incredibly granular way, prioritize them, sort by date, et cetera. It's very powerful for teams because it loses no functionality as teams get larger. Jira helps make both individuals and team more productive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that Atlassian's Jira Cloud platform is not faster. Performance on the cloud product is often slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira has helped us improve/solve:
- FInance
- HR
- IT Service Desk
- Applicant Tracking
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jira can require a lot of customization to really get the most out of it.

A complete toolbox

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
In my opinion, JIRA is a leader in work management - it offers a solution to every department from from Product to Dev to Support. The upside: every department can look at the others work in one app.
What do you dislike about the product?
The increasing complexity shows in the App. Workflow- and User-administration are not easy to understand and the dependencies between different functionalities is not always clear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organising internal and inter-department work as well as agile Product development.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are also considering tools like Trello, make sure that the complexity JIRA offers is really needed. If the answer is yes, there is no where else to look.

Learning Agile and teaching

Slightly Strange But So Useful

  • October 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Though they recently finished an update, Jira is very useful for all types of project management. This includes small projects that you can use a kanban board, or others. We are able to keep track of our projects, include links and materials, and you can create subtasks! Love that feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
The upload section isn't organized in any sense, which can be frustrating if you're uploading more than four things at a time. You can't put them into folders to keep them organized, you can't reorganize and place them in any order (I think it's at random?), and you can't view them without downloading them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're better able to take care of cross-departmental collaboration more than ever! Everyone can see it, we can show who is currently in charge of what, and leave comments to keep everything updated. This is great for transparency.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Yes it can appear intimidating- but try it out! It's great for keeping an eye on projects and you can create different pages if necessary. The ability to go across different tasks and issues is so helpful, especially if you're needing to reference other concerns. This is also great not just for projects, but others use it to track technical work and bugs and the like.

Great incident management tool

  • October 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to flip through tickets easily, as well as assign others tickets
What do you dislike about the product?
I sometimes get frustrated with the system performance, though that can be due to a client issue
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it as the main ticket and incident monitoring tool and it’s great

What do you like best about the product?
the drag and drop functionality is very easy to use and you can master it even if from Non IT field. you can use JIRA to plan multiple projects, uses our workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
when the setup is done, you don't often need to visit admin tasks, every time you visit you have to learn again how everything is configured.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Marketing projects with complex workflows needs to be managed by JIRA, It allows us to customize automatic assignments and dialog box triggers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have one simple project then it's not for you, It's meant for projects with complex workflow

Awesome ticketing service

  • October 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This system is the ultimate ticketing system in the industry, every feature that you could imagine is part of the system and is easy to use - best system out there.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing much has arisen during my use, the search engine is extremely intelligent but at times hard to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ticketing management as well as project and product planning.
Many loading and capacity calculations looked at as well making it a one stop shop.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Amazing software, some cheaper alternatives are available, but none will have the complete feature such other than JIRA.

JIRA for teams integration may be a good choice

  • October 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
You could use JIRA Core or JIRA Software as is, and with a little bit of configuration you are working on tasks.
The better is that you could improve or develop the tool following the development of your teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
The response for improvements requirements is terrible. There are requirements with more than 5 years old, with a lot of votes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A kind of team building and teams coordination it would be possible taking the advantages of JIRA flexibility
Recommendations to others considering the product:
After several loops of improvements, you want to analyze your internal processes to adjust the behaviour of your tool and guide your teams to a less flexible use of JIRA and get more benefits of the task and project management
