Tracking in JIRA
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to do many things, assign tasks, monitor time, track bugs, see progression in project completion to better give idea of due date.
What do you dislike about the product?
Too many areas to search through to find what you need, not user friendly, difficult to learn and teach, did not like the set up of projects, task building/set up and file sharing within JIRA. Also, you must have a good team that follows directions and checks off their tasks when complete and puts actual time in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management, time tracking to better estimate our time to bill the clients, bug tracking. We realized we undercut ourselves and did not put enough time into the timeline/budget for all that needed completed/fixed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to have a good team and someone who has previously used JIRA so that they can set it up and teach you. Make sure it stays clean and don't let it get too bulked up with unfinished or finished tasks that haven't been marked off.
Jira
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use dashboard, had no issues using the software, learned it in a day. Kept me on task, updated, helped prioritize projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
N/A I had a good experience overall. The software did exactly what I needed, no complaints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kept requests organized, prioritized and allowed us to get work done and track it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good project management tool. Easy to use, for multiple users. Keeps things organized and on track.
Step right up!
What do you like best about the product?
I love how this application keeps all my job tickets organized. It is easy for me to find my open tickets and to check their status
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much I dislike about this application. It really is an upgrade to what we were using in the past.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The number one business problem being solved with JIRA is organization. I am able to quickly find and review all open tickets. Another problem being solved is time management. I am able to open a job ticket and receive updates on it's status without having to log in and out of the application itself.
Confusing to use
What do you like best about the product?
It keeps track of what it needs to (projects)
What do you dislike about the product?
The overall UI is confusing. For example, when attaching an image, it doesn't always attach to the comment and will instead attach to the whole ticket making it difficult to reference. I also REALLY don't like that being assigned to a ticket doesn't automatically make you watch it. I'm on the ticket, the default should be to watch it, I shouldn't have to remember to go in and click to watch.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management - ticketing system.
Got Bugs?
What do you like best about the product?
JIRA helps us organize and prioritize bug related issues that arise with our software application.
What do you dislike about the product?
Site navigation isn't the greatest for getting around. Not ideal for seeing high-level existing reported bugs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JIRA is great for collaboration internally on outstanding issues, next steps, and priority for existing bug-related problems.
Used for Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
I like how you can open new issues to ensure that things are being done in the proper amount of time.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is boring looking and looks outdated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving project management with clients. I can talk to client internal teams while working g for an agency.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I honestly think this platform is only good with communicating with IT teams. Creative teams like better looking interfaces
Effective for Software Product Management, UI Could Use Some Work
What do you like best about the product?
We have just begun using Confluence, and having both our internal Wiki and project/product management in one place makes things easier. It's also nice to use something where you know the startup won't go belly up, as Atlassian is huge.
What do you dislike about the product?
They did just release a new UI, but it just seems clunky to me. Whereas Slack and Asana clearly make design a priority, JIRA is more functional. It may just be a personal preference. The other thing is that there are very basic features that I feel a mature product should have, and yet there are many support forum posts that force you to come up with workarounds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Product management - it is specifically built for software PM and it does have a lot of useful features. The benefits of having all things in one place is especially useful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For engineers, use this. For other types of projects (digital marketing agencies, etc) I believe there are better solutions.
Great issue-tracking tool
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, performance, and integration with other systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not enough details in help contents, outdated UI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use JIRA for tracking work-related issues and realized improved team efficiency.

What do you dislike about the product?
- Can be cumbersome to configure if you do not use a default workflow
- New interface is better but ... not if you knew the old ones

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Evaluation for all our business are now tracked and easy to follow using a Kanban like dashboard shared all over the company
- We use also JIRA Helpdesk : great for ITIL based service desk

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Plan some time to tweak it and launch it for small teams and then grow from there.
Large scale deployment will take time and maybe external consulting
Large scale deployment will take time and maybe external consulting
Versatile project assignment organizer
What do you like best about the product?
The workflows can be customized to meet the actual needs. Smooth integration to Confluence is also handy.
What do you dislike about the product?
The things that I dislike using Jira are mainly related to improperly configured workflows which do not allow any mistakenly made transitions. But as far as I know this is because of configuration, not product limitation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making sure that everything that needs to be done actually gets done. Getting the big picture of the current situation of a project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Some people say this is not real software for bug tracking or testing, but consider also this option very carefully. I have found it very useful.
