Great for Task Management

  • November 08, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to attach files to tasks by dragging them from my desktop and dropping them in the browser.
What do you dislike about the product?
The number of automated alerts that are sent by default when a task is updated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With so many tasks being assigned to my department, it's difficult to manage task directives, assets, and statuses. JIRA allows individual tasks to be entered, assigned, and monitored by a manager.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
JIRA is excellent for task management, but I'm not as sure about its ability to manage multifaceted projects.

Everything about a project all in one place

  • November 08, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I actually love using JIRA. At first, it seemed a little complicated but it is so useful once you get the hang of it. It is really nice to create your project and all the necesary documentation and be able to see what stage it is in when someone is working on it.
What do you dislike about the product?
You get a BUNCH of email notifications. So be wary of you inbox, haha. Honestly, it's helpful to see if anyone has changed the status or added any comments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is just an easier workflow.

Business process inside the company to know at exact time the status of a development. In terms of benefits we are now more organized.

Good features, but the UI is a bit clunky

  • November 07, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is open source so changes can easily be changed and implemented (and changed back if need be). It integrates well with other tools as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are kind of a lot of things to click on. The more things to click, the more time you spend project managing rather than working...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Much better tracking of issues and client communications!

Zaps Bugs Dead!

  • November 07, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to track issues and bugs is a great feature in JIRA. I loved when I used it. Also, great integration with testing tools like TestRails. Using it really allows me to track and manage project tasks more easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Interface was a little kludgy, I think there's more functionality than I took the time to learn. I'd really like to spend more time exploring the functionality and mapping it to my processes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Efficient tracking and assignment of project issues, bug, testing, etc. We implement Enterprise ERP and CRM projects that have hundreds of tasks plus custom development. It can be really useful to track and manage tasks and issues, issue history, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to explore and leverage all of the functionality and options. There's a lot of opportunity tom improve your processes with JIRA

JIRA is pretty good

  • November 07, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I receive alerts for every task I am working on.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I could fix one thing, I would only be alerted when there was an update made to the task, rather than receiving timecard updates for time worked.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Website development and maintenance, design reviews, and dealing with UX team on a global scale.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Very easy to use and user-friendly.

Still Getting to Know Jira...

  • November 05, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira is crazy complex. I am impressed by the number of custom workflows and integrations that we can have in order to really customize Jira for our uses. It seems like no matter what I want to do, there's a way we can make Jira work for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
The flip side of being so customizable is that it can be really complicated. Some of the workflows we have aren't entirely intuitive to configure. I also think that reporting could be improved - I still find myself exporting to Excel in order to manipulate the data in order to report what I want.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jira for product managememt - from documenting issues to assigning user stories to developers. We categorize tickets based on things like epic/initiative, customer request, etc. We then update statuses to show which tickets are being worked on, which are deferred, and which are released.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be patient. It takes time to really set it up in a way that will really work for your company and your needs. If you think Jira should be able to do something, it probably can.
