Excellent Business, Software, and Service Desk ticket system
What do you like best about the product?
With all of the Atlassian tools, JIRA (along with Bamboo, Crucible, HipChat, etc), provides everything you need for software development. Additionally, while others are using JIRA for development, business and service desk applications can be used as well. There is also a wide variety of plugins available from time sheets, calendaring, and much more. If you can't find a plugin, then write your own... Atlassian provides an easy SDK.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only problem I have with JIRA is the lack of support for plugin development. I understand why there isn't support, but if there are bugs in their API, they won't assist.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use JIRA for project management, with custom plugins to interact with third party tools, virtual machine build requests, etc. I also use JIRA for agile development with my team.
Great software for development tasks

What do you dislike about the product?
hard to export to excel or other software

Great system for ticketing and task reporting
What do you like best about the product?
Great system for ticketing and task reporting. We like how we can develop custom workflows to manage our agile development
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the same dislikes as Confluence. Search is sometimes convoluted and hard to get the exact result you want. Their filters help though.,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Agile development task tracking
Project Coordinator uses for JIRA
What do you like best about the product?
JIRA is useful in that it clearly delineates tasks for specific projects, and allows you to tie specific individuals to corresponding projects and related tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
JIRA lacks strong user friendliness. Meaning, it is difficult to locate certain projects and tasks within the platform. Additionally, it is not always clear where you can perform certain actions, such as creating a new JIRA story.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my position, I use JIRA to assist the project manager in coordination and organization of specific projects. One major benefit I have realized is JIRA beholds the capability to organize several tasks under one project, including the capability to notify certain employees within the company of a task through the JIRA site.
Effective and flexible tracking solution
What do you like best about the product?
I like that no action goes unrecorded. Every edit to every ticket is tracked and notifies the appropriate parties. Also, I had no part in setting up our Jira infrastructure at my company, but from what I can tell it was pretty customizable in terms of what fields the tickets include and how tickets are organized. It's also really helpful in proving workflow progress or road blocks -- you can see who's holding something up.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be buggy sometimes or have unexplained downtimes. I don't think this is on the part of my organization. Last week, for instance, nobody was able to submit JIRA requests for about 8 hours, despite IT monitoring it constantly. Also, this might just be an implementation issue, but I wish email alerts would give more information in the subject or body of the email other than the ticket type and number. It's sometimes hard to find the email notification I'm looking for if all I see is a number ID.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's useful for organizations that push a large amount of documents and bug fixes through multiple stages of review. The document part is what my job focuses on. I'm able to have multiple documents in multiple stages of review across many different teams and don't have to exhaust myself keeping manual statuses for each doc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure the amount of content you're working with is large enough to justify learning and implementing a new (sometimes complex) tool. It's insanely helpful, but takes time to set up, implement, and maintain.
Tasks made simple
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, after the update things got even easier, i find the tool extremely intuitive and useful, I can assign task and communicate improvements just with a tag
What do you dislike about the product?
After the update sometime i find it a little slow and I have to clean cache to make it work again
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
3 departments work with Jiira. It ensures transparency and speed
Enterprise level Issue-Tracking tool
What do you like best about the product?
JIRA has been designed by people who truly understand what it's like to run a large scale project.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the flows are strange at first, but eventually make sense. There are no real things to dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Issue tracking and project management is now a breeze.

- Its really cheap if your team is equal or less than 10.
- Very flexible, suitable for all team: software development, marketing, designers, support, etc.

What do you dislike about the product?
- We have the on-demand service, the response time and loading speed sometimes can be laggy or slow.
- little bit expensive for small team (11~20)
- the email notifications isn't customizable
- sadly no mobile client yet.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team work remotely all the time, Jira helps us to keep documented and track on our daily work. Every version release is archived with the respective tickets. Very helpful when running a git blame and bug tracking.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use all the Atlasssian software stack you can if possible, such as Bitbucket and Stride for better integration. Haven't used Bamboo yet, but we are planning to.
It's expensive, but worth it.
It's expensive, but worth it.
I'm inexperienced with similar systems, but JIRA's annoying
What do you like best about the product?
I guess it's easy to upload documents (drag and drop) and trace conversations on a task.
What do you dislike about the product?
Gazillions of emails. The inability to skip steps in a workflow is very annoying (the main cause of the gazillions of emails).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for interdepartmental task assignments. It does help tasks not get lost between time zones, as many of our coworkers are on the other side of the world, and JIRA is certainly better than trying to keep up with a task via email when you can't get quick responses.
Awesome
