Good Product Development Management Platform

  • November 17, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira is a great tool for identifying and tracking bug issues as well as organizing and executing new product development. It is very easy to set up Epics, User Stories and development sprints in order to successfully execute on development schedules.
What do you dislike about the product?
Really the only dislike is that it offers so many tools & capabilities, you can keep uncovering more efficient ways to use the service and platform which can be a little disruptive
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This is how we manage our development cycles. We have become much more efficient with this over the last two years, but it has helped our organization become faster to market with our development and we have released more new products and features in the last two years than any other time during my 7 years with this division. Most recently we uncovered a new way to auto-upload user stories into individual Jira tickets, to make the process significantly easier. As we continue to get more effective with our use, we are seeing significant financial savings due to our efficiency with development.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a great platform, but take the time to learn and understand all of the power and tools that it can provide, so that you can set up your workflow appropriately for your business

I use jira to drop issues regarding the project I'm on.

Better than a spreadsheet

  • November 16, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
There is a lot of functionalities that are available to help you. Sprint, backlog, ranking, releases to name a few. There is a good amount of customization that can be done to the platform. It can integrate with other tools which is very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a bit difficult to pull information. That may be more since I haven't explored all the functionality that JIRA provides.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sprint planning, Bug tracking, Release Deployments, Stories. We've been able to streamline more of our agile processes using JIRA.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend doing a tutorial to get the best usage out of JIRA.

Solid defect tracking for teams

  • November 16, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira is highly flexible, it allows for integration all sorts of useful tools
What do you dislike about the product?
Like any information management system its only as good as the information entered into it
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were developing multiple video security projects simultaneously and sharing information between all of the different teams.Jira enabled us to track issues through multiple iterations of a product, create test plans, and generally quantify the quality of our products at any given point in a development/release cycle
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you develop any product and don't have an adequate solution for defect tracking I HIGHLY recommend Jira, it takes quite a bit of setup on the front end but it is worth it in the long run.

Best Agile Software Product Development product on the market

  • November 15, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The UI and structure of the application are great. Love the tie in between Jira and Hipchat
What do you dislike about the product?
Feature creep. The more it's used, the more companies want it to adapt to their way. The more the software does this, the more complex it becomes. And it has become that. KISS. I wish Atlassian would make it great but focus on the broader market
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saving and tracking everything in one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take advantage of the trial. Also, try it with Aha for great 2 way roadmapping.

Keeping our product and engineering teams sane

  • November 15, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We are in JIRA daily pulling together our plan for the week. From Sprint planning to Kanban style boards, we live and breathe in JIRA.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's SO many controls, which can make it difficult to not fall into a customization hole when you should be planning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We run our API and product off JIRA - it's essential to our workflow. It solves the issue of knowing what's going on and what's up next.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure someone on your team takes on the Role of JIRA master. It's as good as it's managed and up to date.

JIRA - Great for streamlining

  • November 14, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy how easy to use JIRA is and how it streamlines productivity, allowing all teammates to gain a better sense of what others are doing, what needs to be done, and what is complete. I thoroughly enjoy the KanBan board, as well. I use this board daily to complete various tasks needed by my scrum team.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much to dislike about JIRA. It could be project based, but I personally have a hard time navigating between boards. Yet again, that could be my project having too many boards and not the functionality of JIRA.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using JIRA to assist with Agile Scrum. I have realized that it really helps facilitate communication and promote productivity among scrum members.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do it! You won't be disappointed.
