Good for managing agile projects

  • November 25, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that the user interface makes tracking tickets easy. Project reports help to ensure that you are making good progress on your project. I also like the notifications of ticket status changes and that you can customize which tickets you're following so that you aren't seeing things you don't need. I like that you're able to link tickets from multiple boards and you can have different kinds of boards such as agile or kanban.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customizing seems more difficult than it should be because of the different access levels that are granted to people. Additionally, there isn't a way (that we know of) to create templates that can be used for each project. So setting up projects takes time because we have to customize each project in the way we'd like to see it shown. If we had the ability to create templates, that would be ideal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JIRA allows us to keep product teams organized and performing efficiently and effectively.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I'd recommend looking through all of the different features/functions because there is a lot that is available that could be easy to overlook.

Agile project management. Successfully transform the organization into agile

What do you like best about the product?
Extendability and sandbox it provides for customization of process
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be repetitive if you are setting up multiple projects and workflows
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were trying to build a uniform intake process for our teams under one tool. We realized jira provided this with low upkeep cost from resourcing and training

Love this for Task management

  • November 22, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it syncs with Confluence. It's simple to use and took very little time for our users to figure it out. It has templates for Kanban which we use for simpler projects as well as Scrum which we use for larger more complicated projects. It is also easy to include users outside of the company which is important for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I can think of that may be a negative is the usability for less tech-savvy people. But this would only apply if you are the person initially setting up the projects (not the people grabbing tasks).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management and task tracking. It makes it easy to create a backlog, organize tasks, track those tasks, and track the work done by individuals.

Jira is a great tool for managing long-term software development projects

  • November 19, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira does a great job of agile project management. Being able to track user stories, add points and display in a configurable workflow are great aspects of this software.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, I haven't found anything I don't like about this application.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Jira to manage a large and complex software application project using SAFe Agile methodologies. The software allows collaboration and alignment across a few different remote teams and stakeholders.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I definitely recommend using it if your project is complex, consisting of many user stories, and if you are following agile practices. It also comes in handy if your team / stakeholders are not centralized.

It is good to have different boards for different projects and manage thousands of tasks in a very organized manner. Jira makes it easy to track the completion level and performance of each assignment. Besides it allows to communicate and cooperate with your colleges right in the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would be great to have some on-boarding materials.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JIra provides a real nice solution for project management.

JIRA for project management, issue and task tracking

  • November 17, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the comments section. This enables us to communicate back and forth with BSAs. Is also a great feature for tracking changes, and clarification.

within the comment section i love that you can tag the people you need.
Subtask feature is also great for paper trail.

What do you dislike about the product?
this is probably user error. but sometimes i create a task and assign a sprint. But then i'm not able to see that task on the kan ban board.

Since canned reporting in JIRA is limited, I would like to see an ability to export or connect to reporting softwares.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have multiple developers and BSAs. JIRA is great one stop PM software.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I've worked in Agile environments where no PM software is used. As a developer, i like having a software instead of trying to track in excel and or powerpoint.
