Amazing Functionality, Difficult to Learn
What do you like best about the product?
The best part about Jira is how easy it is to take a large amount of tasks and manage them easy within teams and departments. We've been able to track and manage software improvements with ease upon bringing Jira to the team.
What do you dislike about the product?
My biggest dislike of Jira is that it isn't necessarily the easiest software to learn to take it to the level one might hope for. It's functionality is there, it's a matter of getting comfortable with Jira to be able to utilize it's tools and tricks to make project management that much easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest business problems we're solving with Jira are task and prioritization management. The benefits we've realized while using Jira is that it allows our team to have a great understanding of how tasks are coming along ( indirect communication) and group understanding of the prioritizes to see the roadmap we've set forth in our software development.

Jira is a great software collaboration tool despite the initial learning curve
What do you like best about the product?
I've been working with Jira for 3 years now. The thing I really like about Jira is how easy it allows to manage and track projects. I also like it's flexibility when it comes to working under different Agile modes. Another thing that is really useful is that it comes with support for integration with multiple third parties. As a developer I also had the need to use Jira's API and that was also possible thanks to it's online documentation which is pretty good.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira is a great software tool but it comes with a somewhat complex learning curve. There are lots of things that can be done with Jira and people need to give themselves a bit of time before getting use to it and get ting the most out of it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been mainly using Jira to manage projects (software) and track it's state. Also for bug reporting and capacity planning.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give yourself sometime before trying something else. Jira might seem expensive and complex but in my opinion is the best software you can find out in the wild when it comes to project management and bug tracking.

What do you like best about the product?
JIRA is a good way to organize tasks for large projects and keep all parties accountable. Adding priority levels to tasks is especially helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Navigating JIRA is not always intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JIRA is especially useful for projects where partners may be scattered across the country. Everyone is able to log into one place and track what has been done, what still needs to be done, and who is responsible for doing it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you are comfortable using JIRA before expanding it to the larger team. There will be a lot of questions about how to navigate it or even use its most basic features and you should be able to answer them if you're leading the project.
A good option, with room for improvement
What do you like best about the product?
Useful flexible features, a whole suite of products that work well together, and out of the box functionality that makes getting projects done easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
The admin and customizations can get out of control quickly. The issues and screen schemes and permissions and notifications and workflows.... having to go five places to change one thing. It is a mess in there. It leaves extreme flexibility but also takes a lot of upkeep.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management and issue tracking. We use Jira of agile software development, Kanban team work and task ticketing to content teams. Our entire organization is in Jira so we have a source of truth for project progress, eta, issue tracking and communication. Before Jira a lot loved in email but as our startup grew we needed a more open forum so history of work want lost. We can answer with a quick search how recent a change was or if a bug was reported. It helps personally with productivity keeping a clear what’s next task list. It is easy to use so even the extremely tech adverse have no problem working in basic ticket types.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your organization has multiple projects or is working in a agile method this is a good ticketing system. It has lots of bells and whistles but the core ticket and usability always shines through. It is not very pretty which our creative teams complain about but it gets the job done.
The Feature Packed Task Management Solution
What do you like best about the product?
Jira is good for providing workflow visibility, maintaining a record of outstanding issues, and a way to prioritize tasks. It's a powerful way to cooperate with numerous stakeholders while concurrently working on multiple projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira has a lot of functionality and features, as result, it can be overwhelming. Many teams only need task management, not an entire fully integrated, feature packed platform - because of this, Jira often runs slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jira for task management, tracking correspondence, and to prioritize our projects and work flows. The tool has helped ensure the whole team is on the same page and what each stakeholder is working on.
JIRA - Helping Us Do Our Jobs With Less Hassle
What do you like best about the product?
The thing I like best is JIRA's flexible project management. It gives every member on a team the whole picture of the process they're involved in, and lets no issue go unnoticed. Team members even get immediate notifications on matters that they are interested in, and they are able to respond, share, and attach documents.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike JIRA's semi-complex interface. I think it is very easy to use once you understand all its functionalities, but it may take time to feel familiar with the site.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use JIRA to as a project management platform to help my team set priorities to our work. It allows me to see the entire process of a project so I can make sure all parts are complete. This product lets me get my work done efficiently and effectively.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try JIRA if you're looking for a customizable platform that will help you easily manage your team. It also works great on mobile for when you're on the go!
Great for Tracking Projects
What do you like best about the product?
I am a Technical Writer, and I use JIRA to manage the updates to my company's user guides. Before JIRA, my team tracked edits in email chains or Word documents. With JIRA, we can track all of our updates in a centralized place. We can immediately see what each person is working on. I like that we can assign tasks to specific release versions, and also see what tasks haven't been assigned yet.
JIRA is a great "CYA" tool; we have a record of who requested, reviewed, and approved changes. We can also upload attachments to show emails, screenshots, drafts, etc.

What do you dislike about the product?
Depending on which version you have, User Management can be a little cumbersome. There are so many features in the program; I don't even know what most of them are because they are not applicable to me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A major benefit of JIRA is having a record of changes, as well as a record of why certain decisions were made. It also allows my team to manage large, complex projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
JIRA is a great product. I recommend using it.
