Nobody ever got fired for using Jira...

  • January 24, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact it does what it says on the tin, its reliable and bug free which is good and has every feature under the sun.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its getting very dated and clunky, kinda Frankenstein looking software now - a result of trying to do too many things over too many years. I'd love to see it re-done from scratch with just the core functionality built better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we run sprints and build software and Jira does this for us, its the industry standard.

Jira Review

  • January 23, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's very easy for a beginner to quickly learn the basics of Jira. The visual drag and drop features make it easier to use than other project management software I've used in the past. The plethora of plugins greatly expand Jira's abilities. If Jira doesn't do something you need it to, just browse the store and you'll probably find a plugin to fill your needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The backlog can be quite confusing. Difficult to easily nest tasks under user stories. A lot of the features aren't very intuitive, such as the ability to create filters -- it's hidden away in various menus.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jira as our project management platform.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're just using Jira by itself, it'll do the trick, but it's extremely bare bones. Utilize the marketplace to find good plugins.

Jira is a great tool for organizing teamwork

  • January 23, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira is a great tool for organizing teamwork. It allows us to keep a solid backlog of both our bug and feature tickets for the entire team, while also providing tools to help plan, develop, code and track projects online.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is not the nicest at times, and even though it looks good, there are definitely some usability issues. However if you learn to use the keyboard shortcuts everything becomes a lot better
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira allows us to keep everyone in communication throughout our sprints and features. It's great for making sure that we can easily have a one stop shop for all of our product planning and development
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's quite a feature rich piece of software. I would say only consider using jira if you really need it. there are many free or cheap alternatives that will do the job for teams under 10 people. Jira really becomes valuable when you begin to track and communicate tasks accross teams (customer success, marketing, product etc). This is where it shines, and when you should consider it

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Drag and drop fileshare, team tagging, relating tickets
What do you dislike about the product?
Still 'feels' complicated in layouts, you still can't truly customize your fields down to just what you need
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Team collaboration on projects, status on work, at-a-glance burndown charts with Agile
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use the wiki page to document and track business or IT details, if you use Salesforce look into the SFDC integration tool
