What do you like best about the product?
There's a lot of customization options to adapt to your workflow and style
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve is pretty steep, and without the proper guidance is pretty hard to get the most of it. Notifications overload can also be distracting and not filtering your notifications correctly can make it so you miss out on important information.

Keeping track of the backlog for the company, asigning tasks to team mates, asigning priority to tasks.

Jira worth the effor

  • January 24, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira is flexible, while there are established workflows, they can be altered. I also like the integration between the related products, we use Bit Bucket and confluence so connecting them was painless and provides a more unified view of projects and tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve is a little step for some people, creating filters and build dashboards is not necessary obvious. Reading and watching tutorials is worth while.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a widely distributed Development team, we needed a way to keep track of projects, and tasks across many time zones. Jira has given us the tools to work this way. We have much better communication across the entire group.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Chart out as a team how you want Jira to help, and have a good understanding of your processes.

JIRA helps manage issues and projects

  • January 24, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We implemented Jira a few years ago and I really like how issues can be linked together to follow the progression of a project. Jira is very flexible as we use it for product requests and a tools to manage projects. With due dates and the ability to customize you can make it do whatever your organization needs. I like that Jira provides workload management tools such as dashboards and kanban boards that you can customize based on your needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira runs a little slow at times, so speed is sometimes a concern. When implementing I would spend some time in how it is configured and how it's installed. I would also like templates added to better use some of the tools out if the box. Dashboards are a great tool, but gadget are individual java programs that you add, so if you are adding a multiple it sometimes takes a while to load which is concerning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jira for tracking bugs and enhancements. We have found that Jira does well in helping us organize and prioritize issues. Jira allows for the creation of dashboards for your team to highlight issues when coming into the office.Dashbaords have gadgets which allow you to add workload breakdowns, metrics and analytics along with assigned to or issues that your are tracking in once convenient area. Jira also provides a great collaboration tool to prioritize workload with other teams using kanban boards.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jira does well in managing projects and software development and was developed to align with agile development.

What do you like best about the product?
JIRA is extremely versatile. I've used it in an agile environment as a user and in a more traditional waterfall environment as an administrator.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a bit clunky, but if you can get over that it is worth the effort to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Issue tracking, sprints, task tracking, bug tracking.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This product has a lot of potential; it can be used in many ways and in many different environments and methodologies. You can make it work for you.

What do you like best about the product?
We use Jira at work for managing tech issues, it’s easy to keep track of progress on Jira.
What do you dislike about the product?
It’s not the most intuitive platform. I feel like a person couldn’t log onto Jira for the first time and automatically figure out how to navigate it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bug tracking

Good for tracking the work

  • January 24, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As you can create the entire hierarchy of the project structure (Company -> Teams/Projects -> Tickets) it is easy to track all the work that is being done throughout your company. You can tag people, log the time, link your work outside JIRA and other cool stuff here. You can have your own dashboard which tells you the progress of work being done in your team. It further has proper authorization so that only the concerned people can edit the information.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are too many links on the UI which can, at first impression, be intimidating for a new user to catch up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We track our project work status with Jira. We log our daily time spent on the specific tasks. We create tasks and assign it to respective stakeholders so that there is minimal slippage of work.

Detailed and takes some time to get used to but good!

  • January 24, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to assign members to tasks and keep track of bugs assigned to task. It was pretty user friendly and good interaction. Seems like there are many ways to be able to use the tool not just for tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to dislike other than it’s complexity. It just takes a while to get used to and getting the team to also spend time to learn and use the resource was a little rough.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task and project tracking
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It will take some time to learn and get used to but it is overall a pretty strong resource. It helped the team get on track with the project and had other various functionalities such as bug tracking.
