Good for the value

  • January 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Our team enjoyed the variety of options we had to streamline our workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our team sometimes felt overwhelmed by how many options were available sometimes. This is why we have stopped using it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We solved an issue of low productivity, which was a huge plus.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure that you consider exactly how you would implement this into your workflow.

JIRA for Technical Writers

  • January 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JIRA is great for creating tickets so the entire team can be on the same page with what is going on.
What do you dislike about the product?
JIRA doesn't appear to support the kind of unique requirements needed for documentation related needs. You are unable to create multiple tickets for the same concern across multiple projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the issue of looking back to see when a change was approved, and to give insight to what other writers on the team are working on. It is nice to see the Dashboard to see what is being worked on and the ability to close out a revision is also great.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would seriously look into the other options that are on the market. This product works for us because our team is so small. I would think that it would work better for companies not using it as documentation resource.

Review on Jira

  • January 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to communicate bug fixes and product changes among developers and product managers
What do you dislike about the product?
Too much focused on tech users and not so easy to use for non developers
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communicating the requirements and issues and tracking them with clients and customers
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Amazing community and ease of use for developers will make it the best product for bug tracking and product management.

JIRA is Just Alright with Me

  • January 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can set up just about any custom functions/labels that you need for any given work flow. It really helps communicate project process between multiple departments.
What do you dislike about the product?
I absolutely hate the UI of JIRA. They desperately need an UX Designer to comet through and clean up shop. It is not user friendly in the slightest. It has far more capabilities that other programs in it's field, but those other programs are far easier to use and have more of a natural layout. Wrike is headed in the right direction in this fashion - but Wrike is not as versatile as JIRA. Maybe the 2 should consider a merger.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communicating project process across multiple departments - from design to development.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You will need heavy IT support for working through customization. It is not a super user friendly software in it's RAW nature.

A great product if often complicated product

  • January 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira does literally everything you can reasonably require of an issue and project tracker and allows a high level of configuration.
The various integrations mean that even if it isn't suitable out of the box there is likely something out there that will plugin and solve your needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is complicated and often can be overwhelming to users. In most organisations I've worked for it has required a 'super user' and standards users often struggle to work out how to do things without further assistance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Issue tracking and project management; we are able to do both across all of our projects seamlessly and it does so more than adequately.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't give up if at first you are struggling with it. There is substantial resource available online; often googling the issue will provide a suitable solution.

Great sprint management tool

  • January 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The variety of visual displays and filters help our team see exactly what needs to be done, and helps us delegate tasks effectively among our teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
I like the occasional email summaries, but there could be a better real-time notification system for when one of our issues gets updated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Effective delegation of tasks, and sprint visualization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good visualization, task management, and issue tracking

Easy to use once set up, difficult to create new jira form flow

  • January 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
very customizable attributes and fields available in the interface
What do you dislike about the product?
with the engineering implementation to make a new jira workflow, it takes us 2+ weeks to create a form from scratch. this is tediously long due to the coding the needs to be done on the back end to get the assignee attached to the jira form
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
project and task tracking
Recommendations to others considering the product:
generally positive use, widely accepted as industry standard

Very intuitive UX, easy to set up, all in all - very, very good software

  • January 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Intuitive UX for user. Customizable for all sorts of workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
There were few times when a weird error comes out, but not replicable. Since it happens only about 3 times in 2+ years, I think that's fair.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workflow is easier than some of the other software I have used.

We use it for sprints and bug tracking

  • January 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use it for tracking our sprints as it's easy to see stories in a sprint and what's in the backlog to be worked on. Also our support team uses it to track bugs, both ones entered internally and entered by customers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to search for anything and find exactly what you're looking, many times when we search for something it doesn't find exactly what we're looking for and instead finds other stories/bugs that are not exactly related.
Also the new UI is hard to get used to since they've moved many things around from where they were before. The new UI itself looks nice but with everything in different places, it has reduced productivity as it requires more work to find things that were much more intuitive in the old UI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keep track of what developers are working on and be able to see metrics on their performance over time
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Check out software like Rally to see if they provide what you're looking for
