JIRA helps manage projects, and keep the team organized and focused on the project milestones
What do you like best about the product?
The Agile board is a great tool for all team members to see where their input is needed. In an organization with worldwide presence, JIRA has helped our teams stay in sync. There are many great ways to customize JIRA to fit your team's needs, and most of the features are not complicated to manage. We've been able to save time on projects using Jira's Agile board to assign work out, and maintain end to end work on user stories. As a scrum master, I can always pull up the Agile board for my team to get reports produced for management.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features that I like have been removed. For instanced, I liked the ability to cut and paste screenshots, now I have to save images and upload, so it takes a little more work for something that used to be simple. JQL history was also removed, this helped with rerunning searches without having to save filters. I opened a request with Jira, but they have not taken action after several years.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Jira to facilitate building software applications. We track user stories, defects, and enhancements with this product. It keeps all teams informed on priority and scope for sprints. The best benefit is having a central location for tracking client reported defects, and new features.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When adopting Jira, the workflows need to be configured for each team. It's pretty important to have a knowledgeable admin running the software, and setting up configurations for different projects.
JIRA is very useful for QA testing
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and communicate with teammates bugs we are having
What do you dislike about the product?
Constant email updates about every change that a teammate makes in the system
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps a lot to track bugs and make sure that work is being done efficiently
Best software task management flow ever!
What do you like best about the product?
The integrated confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket gives the software development a seamless view yielding a more productive engineer doing less context switching.
What do you dislike about the product?
The new navigation in confluence and JIRA (on demand) needs improvements, its hard to do the regular searching, accessing your kanban boards and issues. With previous explicit menus it was an easier navigation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Software Development pipelines
Excellent Project Tracking and Organization Tool
What do you like best about the product?
It simplifies the conception, planning, storyboarding, tracking and realization of projects extremely well. There's no comparable out there.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some integrations don't work all that well. Jira uses HTML5 and integrated software that doesn't has some issues. It can also be a little tricky to setup integrations ideally.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's what our development, product management and quality assurance teams use to track our work plus state what we want to do and know when we're at the end goal.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
See a demo, evaluate what you use now and what you need Jira to do. Ask questions about everything - and I mean everything - that you need/want it to do. There are creative ways to use Jira but they may not be the most intuitive or most satisfactory either.
Learning Akita
What do you like best about the product?
The way jira breaks things down into a step by step build.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pages can be very busy and hard to read
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
No problems
Jira rocks
What do you like best about the product?
Lots of filtering options, keeps track of all tickets, can see tickets in a ton of diff pools/cats
What do you dislike about the product?
Can’t search ticket by relevant words only by ticket number
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Work allocation
robust management system
What do you like best about the product?
It can be as simple or complex as you need it to be as far as the setup of tickets is concerned. Different teams can easily collaborate and link tickets. Making certain items required helps to ensure that our tasks are sent to and seen by the right people. Custom filters and dashboards ensure that you are able to see what you need to. The Kanban board as well as ability to search by creation date and story points ensures that we don't leave tasks behind in the everyday shuffle.
What do you dislike about the product?
Navigating within Jira is difficult for certain things like epics and filters, even for experienced users. It annoys me that I have to click Advanced Search every time I'm in the Issues area in order to access my custom Issues filters even though that's what I use every day. Some things are so hard to find that I bookmark them. To me, with an online solution, I shouldn't have to rely on browser bookmarks to find things. On top of that, I'm a very experienced user! It's even harder for my less-experienced colleagues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our documentation tracking used to be on a spreadsheet. We migrated everything into Jira and saw an immediate gain in terms of turnaround time and tracking. We are able to more easily share our progress with those who have requested or are otherwise interested in the documentation. It's been a lot easier to prove just how much work our teams does, too.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure that you have someone experienced with JIRA to teach anyone inexperienced in it about its uses.
Great platform for software products, issues, and tests
What do you like best about the product?
I like how Jira has continually updated their platform to make it more aesthetically pleasing and easier to use at the same time. Jira makes it easy to keep track of the issues we're having with our software.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, I can't think of anything that I don't like about Jira. The layout used to be confusing, but it continues to improve!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're solving all of our bugs/glitches that slow down our business with the help of Jira. Jira has benefited us in that we can now quickly address issues and keep them better organized.
Keep your projects and team on track
What do you like best about the product?
I've used Jira at a few different companies, and I really like how easy it is to customize dashboards to use for your team's specific needs. Also that it integrates with Slack makes it a super useful tool to manage our team's workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have challenges organizing and tracking closed tickets, there is no out-of-the box widget for this solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team uses it to track various projects, I use it specifically to keep track of my workload.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jira is a super helpful tool, and is not just for developers tracking progress in a sprint. I'd definitely use Jira again.
