Outstanding procuct
What do you like best about the product?
Robust features for ticket management and support. Integration with Git projects and the rest of the Atlassian suite. Relatively intuitive user interface design and terminology for those familiar with agile software methodology.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the tabbed interface design elements can be cumbersome, but this is a byproduct of the robust features JIRA has, and is a tradeoff I'm willing to accept.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Effective sprint planning and resource management, aids in prioritization of feature enhancements and upgrades. Also helpful in tracking projects that have been left to be resolved later.
Great tool for product development teams using agile
What do you like best about the product?
It is a common platform for everyone who is directly or indirectly related to a project. The GUI also makes it so simple to demonstrate and understand progress of a project. Straightforward, built for software development. JIRA is easy to use and intuitive for everyday use. The ability to customize your own dashboard is my favorite feature. JIRA provides a high level of customization to views, workflow, screens, fields, boards and reports. Just about every portion of JIRA allows for custom changes to fit your project needs. Customization can be done a a global and/or project level. Security is also customized to allows for various group and user access.
What do you dislike about the product?
My concern when I first started using it, was about how long it would take to learn to use the product efficiently, but I learned it very quickly with no training.
Because JIRA is truly based on Scrum, it follows the "all or nothing" rule where if any part of your story is incomplete at the end of the sprint, it must roll over to the next sprint. JIRA does not split stories.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jira to manage iterations in our software. We have a remote development workforce, so this is the central tool used by our development and product teams for formal communication around issues (stories, bugs, features, etc.). I use the tickets created by Dev to write documentation based on requirements.
Bug Tracking, Workflow, and More
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite part of JIRA is how we are able to keep, rank, and log all of our software bugs in one place. This also helps from a workflow management perspective, as our entire distrbuted team is able to stay on the same page.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because JIRA is so robust, it's fairly difficult to properly configure. The UI itself is also not super friendly – so that can make it tough for non-tech savvy users to interact with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our biggest use case is with bug tracking for our software releases. We have been able to cut down on the confusion between our dispursed teams – as everyone is able to see the issues, their progress, to whom it is assigned, etc.
Not a bad tool for first time project management/issue tracking tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can visually monitor many projects simultaneously. I like that you can add tickets and issues to the system relatively quickly and easily. The tool is pretty intuitive and it only take a few attempts before you understand how the system works.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that when you open up the big Gantt chart, it doesn't automatically take you to the current date. It takes you to the beginning date of one of the projects. In this case, I have to scroll all the way through to find today's date. There is not a button that allows you to click to get to that point in time either.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking projects, submitting issues and creating tasks for other individuals through out the organization. It allows upper management to see transparency within the organization. Shows them who is doing what, who is fixing what and how the time line is looking. Great tool to show transparency.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try and have a clear understanding of what types of outcomes you're looking for from your issues logging/project management software tool. Make sure that JIRA can handle those prior to selecting your vendor.
A perfect project tracker
What do you like best about the product?
Different sprints are allocated in a manner that it is easy to work on and see who is doing what
What do you dislike about the product?
less admin to manage. There are lot of companies wherein they might challenge in finding a jira admin
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project tracking

Bug and product Feature Management

What do you dislike about the product?
It’s sometimes is cumbersome to attach a proper hierarchy to all issues

Ideal for issue tracking
What do you like best about the product?
Jira makes issue tracking easy and works seamlessly with the atlassian suite of tools. It's the best tool I've used for bug tracking, sprint planning, developing new features and tracking metrics related to issue resolution. The integration with other atlassian tools make it indespinsible.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you have jira but do not have access or budget to other atlassian tools to integrate, functionality can be somewhat limited or the licensing can get expensive. For example at my current company they do not have jira service desk like my previous company did, so we have to use the jira issue collector feature instead of service desk which has more features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira is much easier to use than other request tracking tools we have used like request tracker. It makes it easy to visually see issue resolution over time with dashboards and graphs to create real time reports
Jira Project Management Tools
What do you like best about the product?
Flexible system to track projects. A lot of available plugins to customize, setup automated reports, etc. You can build your own queries, agile boards, and scrum boards.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a huge price jump once you exceed 10 users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking projects and their related tasks. Helpful to have it all in one shared location and not floating around in multiple spreadsheets.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great cost/benefit for small user groups (less than 10 people).
