If you can find the feature you want to use, it's great.

What do you like best about the product?
They've thought through pretty well how you would do agile development and given you all the tools you'd want. They also created their own search language that's kinda sql-y that I've come to enjoy. We also really like the capture tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
They've got "flow" issues. Man, sometimes I can't make heads or tails of how they would expect someone to get to the right screen from where they are and I have to use their search tools to find the right place.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We track our issues and use their capture tool to report bugs quickly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try. If you're needing a full service tracking tool Jira is great. If you need something a little more simple, maybe try some of the others.

What do you like best about the product?
1. In my professional life i have used this tool for quite sometime and i am happy with the performance. It is a good tool to keep track of the project deliverables especially in Agile development.
2. It is a one pit stop for the stakeholders to be updated on team performance, and the progress on different teams.
3. The dashboard feature allows the user to pull data from different interfaces and get a clear picture of what is going on.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Although they do provide a lot of customization options, it is very limited.
2. This tool works best with Agile methodology.
3. As a first time user the tool can be a little intimidating to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One pit stop, where multiple other tools can be integrated to provide data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A good tool for Agile Development.

Great Project Management tool!

What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to export data easily, Kanban boards are great. Easy to manage product enhancements and small projects within our company. Easy to follow other Jiras and tag people or customers.
What do you dislike about the product?
They did an update of their UI recently and there was no heads up or notice, I had a hard time finding the kanban boards or the create new jira button, new UI design is a little complicated and not intuitive. I liked the old UI better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking bugs and product enhancements. Collaboration and better communication between teams.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for it, its a great product.

Great Software Once You Get a Process Established

  • February 20, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira is an awesome tool for product-engineering-design collaboration. It truly is what you make of it and has a lot to offer in terms of labeling, organizing, and search functionality. Kanban views, click-and-drag backlog management, and dashboarding to see everything on your plate in one location are highlights.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have changed the way we use Jira at my organization numerous times and finally hit a sweet spot that works for us. It's relatively intuitive but can be a bit much to pick up - there's just a lot to it. Not necessarily a bad thing, but don't expect it to be as easy to use as a traditional Kanban system. Also wish there was a stronger notification system - could be some hidden feature that exists already somewhere, but right now I receive all notifications via email and it can be a bit hard to follow when I have a lot of tickets in our workflow at once.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have implemented a strict labeling, tiering, and ticket writing process that has streamlined our processes and allowed for seamless communication with stakeholders.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have an organized process going into it. Come up with uniform nomenclature that you use across the organization. It can get messy if you let it.

JIRA

  • February 20, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Highly customizable; all workflows, fields, issues are easily accessible which takes the burden off the developers and project management team can maximize their potential.
What do you dislike about the product?
Multiple users can't edit at the same time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is how we keep track of all the release items that come in through our department. All of our documentation is maintained here.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
JIRA collects all data in a single, searchable location and provides access to any users at any time. JIRA is mostly appreciated for issue and bug tracking although these aren't the only features.

Great tracking/ticketing tool

  • February 20, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The quickness to understand it for new hires. It isn't the prettiest site, but the usage is mostly intuitive, and with the number of clients Atlassian has, we often find new hires with experience in JIRA.
What do you dislike about the product?
It could always look better. That's seemingly a petty "dislike", as the site is easy to use, and we are a high-level user as a company.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it almost exclusively as a ticketing system, and have designated a couple folks internally to act as "JIRA SME", so we can hand to them what we need from the system. It is working well this way.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There aren't really alternatives for us in the ticketing field, without looking at entire systems. We use other software for project management and documentation.

What do you like best about the product?
The software provides very good documentation and the UI is very intuitive and easy to learn.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far I haven't found anything to dislike other than that one incident where we couldn't view our backlog. The issue was reported and it was resolved quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using JIRA to manage our agile development process. Software allows to organize and track our project collaboratively. There's a lot of reports provided to help keep track of project status.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Would recommend to agile teams looking for tools to keep track of their projects.
