Great for scaling agile practices

  • March 22, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Default UI can be intimidating, but it is configurable to make it as user-friendly as possible, ability to scale some standard best practices across teams, very extensible given the suite of add-ons from Atlassian marketplace
What do you dislike about the product?
Configuration can be unwieldy, some limitations on capabilities out of the box forces you to add on several other products to make it work the way you want
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
scaling our agile practices, building consistent workflows that make getting things done easier
Recommendations to others considering the product:
have multiple people trained on administering JIRA

industry standard for QA

  • March 22, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Cost and ease of use for all QA process. Administration is very simple, printing issues is a good way to track changes when fixes are deployed.
What do you dislike about the product?
exporting data is for online Jira is done in JSON file and does not save the preferences.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
for all QA testing it has become the standard. minimal training is needed to get QA analysts going on it. Love how it keeps track of bugs and testing. we can setup time frames for upgrades and bug fixes due to the ease of use
Recommendations to others considering the product:
the ease of administration and cost (cost should be first) Jira would be the best chose for software developers bug tracking

The standard for a Application Lifecycle Management Tool

  • March 22, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The modern UI is very intuitive. I was able to easily navigate through the application after only a few minutes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some screens seem a little busy making it difficult to find what you are after.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We required a tool for Project Managers to track time/requirements/issues that all team members could use as well as providing a space for non technical users to view the status of their request.

Great Organization Tool

  • March 22, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how JIRA helps teams organize themselves. It's really helpful to break work down and assign it out in such a visible way. I like the organization and being able to create a hierarchy of tickets and work. I especially like being able to edit tickets in bulk - when closing down a product that is particularly helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think there are key updates they are missing -like being able to create Epic of Epics for better organization or being able to have product releases (product iterations) vs feature releases (the tech work). I really dislike not being able to get features like creating an over-arching epic over smaller ones, not being able to split the work between two team members when you use time tracking instead of story points.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have found a better form of organization and we are working on more clearly defined objectives. I believe we've seen how much work we can accomplish thanks to the organization of JIRA as well as being able to solidify our ideas before work starts. The tickets help each engineer better speak up for their sprint during sprint planning.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It can have a learning curve that requires you to invest time and your resources to learn it. I would recommend getting some teams involved early so that they can help onboard other teams. The best I've seen this done is by training scrum masters who can help onboard their teams.

Jira - A Review

  • March 22, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira allows us to be able to track bugs, feature requests, and updates/ Combined with its ability to integrate with other features we use (slack) it makes it super easy to get real-time updates on bug fixes and patches.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the interface is generally clean and easy to use, the search feature isn't as robust as some other platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking bug updates and fixes, Assigning tasks and projects across customer support, marketing, and the design team. We also used the various comment features to notify each other of updates (the tagging feature is a particularly useful oen for that).

JIRA review

  • March 22, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JIRA helped me capture, assign, and set priorities to my teams work. It allowed me to manage the whole process of application development making sure that all things are covered, from concept to launch. Its simple, intuitive interface enables collaboration with teammates and allows you to get the job done in an effective manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only negative thing I have to say about JIRA is that it does not have the ability to move multiple tickets to the next column at once. I found this to be time consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I really enjoyed using JIRA because it allowed me to work with my internal team as well as the team we had overseas. We didn’t need to constantly be calling each other to report bugs and issues, since it could all be tracked on JIRA
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend JIRA to any company that has any issues or bugs do track and doesn’t want to constantly be calling and meeting with team members to identify these problems.

JIRA is a great task management system that scales for small and large teams

  • March 21, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to choose between types of tasks and then being able to see it in a minimalistic board. It is very difficult to really know what's going on in Trello because there is so much going on for a single card. JIRA simplifies it to if you have a task, if it has an epic, and if it links to other tasks. It can address more complicated scenarios than that but those are my main focuses.
What do you dislike about the product?
The navigation can get confusing as there's one on the left and one on the top. I've learned where things are through memorization and use instead of it being very intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're managing our tasks much better with JIRA and even with our team getting larger we haven't had to redesign or upgrade to something different.
