What do you like best about the product?
Jira is a comprehensive tool, allowing all project team members to keep updated. The level of detail is comprehensive - a critical aspect for keeping tabs on every task.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira limits me to sitting at my desktop. When I am on onsite with clients, its difficult to acess real-time data in a quickly digestable manner.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira allows me to run large-scale, long-term projects seemlessly. JIRA is our primary tool to track project success.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ensuring you have a power user (or power group) who can help troubleshoot and customize your instance is key to success.

What do you like best about the product?
Jira is vey easy to work with as long as you have the correct rights assigned to you. It is an excellent system that allows you to maintain all of your documents related to a project in one single pane. You can easily share your documents with others and track how long it takes for something to get done.
What do you dislike about the product?
As I previously mentioned if you don't have the security that allows you to fully utilize the system it can be a bother and turn out not to be to useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking Projects from the start to the finish.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great system to work with

Robust tool for teams of any size!

  • March 28, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JIRA works as a powerful, robust, and relatively easy to use tool for our development team to keep track of everything anyone is working on at any given time. JIRA's issue tracking helps to make sure that every action in an iteration can be accounted for, and can be referenced to in the future if any problems arise, which gives everyone the satisfaction of having accountability.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface could use a little bit of an update, and for someone jumping into using an issue tracking service with no prior experience there is a bit of a learning curve that might throw some people off.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using JIRA helps to keep everyone on the team on the same page. The ability to be able to track the progress of everyone on the individual stories, spikes, and epics that they are working on helps to give everyone a sense of accountability and community in a more business-oriented fashion.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're going to adopt it, be sure to do it fully! A lot of people that use JIRA on my team and other teams at my company don't utilize all of the features of it. Do it early and it'll save project managers a lot of headache!

JIRA has a lot of tools needed to help you manage your Developer/QA/BA Needs

  • March 28, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JIRA offers a complete solution to help a software company track all dev work, what has been tested or needs to be tested and what is in the backlog. With their KanBan board, we clearly see what is in the pipeline. We can weigh each log with points and see how many points we can accomplish in a sprint.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like the ticketing solution they have. With every software company, comes a customer service team. Unfortunately, due to the nature of our company, the fact that emails could not easily be built with images. We also found the UI for our clients was not simple enough.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had a custom built software to hold all development documentation but it was awful to say the least. With JIRA, our communication has improved and the fact that it joins with Confluence which is great for BA/QA and functional docs, makes it all better. We seem to have a better handle on what we do and development logs do not fall through the cracks. The last thing you want is to send our a feature into production and nobody tested it because the log was left behind somewhere and QA did not see it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
JIRA helps you get organised. The only issue that we came across is that JIRA offers no training or help. You will need to find a consultant who is accredited by JIRA. They usually charge a pretty penny so make sure that you company is completely ready to make this switch. Have everything listed that you want to do and do it once. Have 1 person in the company assigned as the "JIRA Champion" so that once the consultant leaves, that person can take over and be able to make the necessary changes of business evolution.
