JIRA gives out what you put in
What do you like best about the product?
JIRA can be a really nice way to organize and prioritize "to-dos". Whether it's a prioritization list of engineering needs, a way to organize and push UX recommendations, or simply to keep track of bugs, it's simply a nice organized interface to keep all of these sorts of things in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
JIRA gives out whatever you put in. The usefulness of JIRA is truly dependent on you and your team. My company has several teams that use JIRA, and all of them have different things to say about it- and it's really due to how diligent certain teams are about inputting items into JIRA, tagging them, discussing them, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organization and prioritization of basically anything. Benefits are that it's simple enough to use, and that you can access it from any device. It's easy to learn and it's easy to look at and understand what you're seeing- especially because JIRA allows you several ways to display a JIRA board.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Please consider how much effort your team is willing to put into JIRA before you consider purchasing it. It really is a great, useful tool, but if your team doesn't utilize it well or go into it as a large team effort, your user experience will suffer.
Excellent tool that boosts your team productivity
What do you like best about the product?
The Agile board is definitely the feature I use most. The ability to drag and drop my current tasks on the board is awesome.
What do you dislike about the product?
Search mechanism could be much better and precise. Also, I dislike that we can't move subtasks between tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Team organization;
- Product Management;
- Planning;
- Keep track of progress;
- Track of future release / Bugs

You have to use the Agile board. Its definitely a plus.
JIRA Review
What do you like best about the product?
This function in JIRA allows you to control who can view the issues. It consists of a number of security levels which can have users or groups assigned to them. You can specify the level of security for the issues while creating or editing an issue.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the application misbehaves, I can't tell if this is infrastructure or what, usually this occurs when I am in a browser other than Chrome
I am not aware of a mobile app for it but if there is one that would be cool
I am not aware of a mobile app for it but if there is one that would be cool
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Defect tracking and monitoring progress of the project were difficult just on emails, this tool has made both easier for us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As mentioned sometimes the application misbehaves, I can't tell if this is infrastructure or what, usually this occurs when I am in a browser other than Chrome. Please try to fix this. also, I am not aware of a mobile app for it but if there is one that would be cool.
Excellent Platform for Agile projects
What do you like best about the product?
The Kanban board is a big help for daily stand-up huddles.
Task & user story creation is a wonderful feature - the ability to create sub tasks, assign, manage and follow-up is a wonderful feature. Very easy to track status of tasks and group them in many user friendly ways is a good feature.

What do you dislike about the product?
Report creation is not a big hit in this software. With all the amount of data fed into this tool, a user should be able to generate various types of reports that fit various business needs. There is no ability to generate a consolidated report of all issues, tasks, user stories etc in a single report, this becomes tedious when you're managing multiple projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management has become easier with this tool (especially when there are multiple projects to be hendled)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great tool for project management - keeps everything related to a project under the same roof.
Powerful functionality but hard to use
What do you like best about the product?
Super useful analytics and tracking for large teams (or small teams!). It is good to have project management all in one place. I think that the functionality is built specifically for development and engineering, so a lot of the functionality is lost on me as a designer. The 'team board' makes it easy for someone to see what every team member is working on, and how long it is taking them. It is useful to have large tasks with multiple sub-tasks below it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is very complex and not intuitive. I've found that the project managers always seem to figure it out but the rest of the team figures out the bare minimum. Also, the program is designed (or seems to be) around engineering teams. This means that there are lots of useful tags and functions specifically for building and fixing things. This is not useful for the workflow of the people on the team who are not engineers. For example, there is no useful way to manage iterations on mockups, or comments/feedback on certain pieces of those mockups. I think JIRA would benefit from an archive function, so that older iterations can still be accessed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira handles collaboration and transparency, so it's a good way to track what a team is working on and how a project is progressing. Obviously it is an improvement on email chains or sticky notes on a wall (this is how we used to do it before Jira).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is probably worth watching a webinar or taking the tour to really figure out how to use Jira.
Good but Not Great
What do you like best about the product?
It provides organization to our organization. Plus, it decreases the amount of emails I receive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Moving cards and marking a task as complete can be more difficult than it needs to be. To me, Trello has a better, easer to use interface (while I know it's not as complex).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to be cohesive unit and leaders to stay in the know on everything.
Jira tracking
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility. You can create any ticket/issue types and workfows for any business or development flow. The automation and rules you can define help keep the processes clean
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish some of the reports were more flexible and that the import was a bit more user friendly
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we were a growing development team and needed something that will be user friendly but allow us to ensure process adherence. And the developers had to like it
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do a good evalaution because while you can change the configuration post implementation it may be difficult. Overall it works well and has been well accepted by the team
Complicated
What do you like best about the product?
I liked that this program joined our overseas factories and our office for design projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
There were too many different parts of this program that made it seem like more work instead of eliminating problems. Since this was a communication tool for with our overseas vendor I felt that the language was to easy to be interpreted differently .
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We no longer use the program
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure all employees test it out and understand it before purchasing
Intended for tracking dev tasks, but really can used for any project tracking
What do you like best about the product?
Allows my marketing team to collaborate with our development team in a tool/product that they're already comfortable with, which means they communicate more and things get done more effectively. Also, I like how each task is treated as a project ... with its own history, file database, and fields.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing I would say I dislike about Jira.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking development feature requests, issues and bugs ... as well as the occasional marketing request and desk task.
Great product for team projectx
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to set up projects and enter bugs, tasks, issues, etc. for your project team. It's easy to comment on tasks and track time to tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reporting functionality is terrible and not intuitive. The admin tool functionality is also a bit difficult to use and figure out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking progress of projects from beginning to end. JIRA helps us stay organized, keep on task, and complete all tasks that need to be complete so we can meet our launch deadlines.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's the best project management and bug tracking tool out there.
