Excellent for staying on top of tasks

  • May 03, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I personally like the ability to track where issues and tasks are at, how much work has been completed on them and what the estimated time remaining is. I can see at a glance where mine and my team are up to.
What do you dislike about the product?
The navigation can be a bit tricky until you set up custom views. Now that my custom views are set up properly, I can simply click a link and get taken directly to exactly what I want to see.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Logging and tracking issues and projects. I also use it as a way of noting down ideas as they arise. I don't have time to do most things as they are thought of so it is great for logging for future. When I complete one task or project, I visit my Jira queue and see what I can do next depending on priority & time constraints. It is a great way to get some quick wins done if I only have a short time so I can clear the queue a bit before taking on my next big project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This tool is excellent if you are in need of keeping track of jobs or time tracking. There are numerous plugins that you can install to automate things such as how long is spent on each task. It is also great for other teams that aren't necessarily IT departments or developers. We have it implemented across multiple teams so they can assign jobs and sub jobs to each other in order to create a bit of a workflow.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Jira, hard to setup and maintain, but good for agile teams

  • May 02, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We like the story and agile features best.
What do you dislike about the product?
the administration, settings, configuration, rights, continuous changing of features is too cumbersome
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been using much of the Atlassian stack for dev and CI. However, the setup and administration and config errors were too much, so now only Jira is left for development.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The administration is hard, sometimes impossible (server errors). Customer support is cumbersome. Jira is nice, but the whole integration/stack is not so nice.

What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not particularity fond of the UI, can't seem a bit too much information at times. Also not really user friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

What do you like best about the product?
It's clear, easy and full of features. It's nice for both project managers, to organize sprints, and for developers to have a clear working pipeline.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the new UI has minor bugs, but they are solving it now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for application maintenance (eCommerce bug tracking). We saved a lot of time having all the communications in one place, and we reduced the total amout of emails.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's complete and extensible through also HelpDesk and GIT for versioning.

  • May 01, 2018

What do you like best about the product?
JIRA is a great tool to Plan , track and manage software development in Scrum and Kanban mode.
We widely use this tool as our Sprint boards and Kanban boards. At the same time it gives the previlage to query set of JIRA's whenever needed.
Also it helps to Prioritize and discuss our backlogs during backlog grooming sessions.
It also gives us to privilege to create the workflows as needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
JIRA is a great tool to use with. People often dislike JIRA just because they have not made the configurations and set up in the needed manner :)

Jira for UAT for Websites

  • May 01, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Backlog management has huge value and is easy to use, arguments which can be conveyed with ease to business operations roles which see significant churn. Benefits are having an enduring list of online features which you can move up the backlog in value, flesh out further with the team, and move into production.
What do you dislike about the product?
Inability to clone issues, so you're forced to re-enter information and waste time. It would be valuable to be able to visualize releases in gantt-like fashion with a ribbon above, or via another view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
UAT for websites, across the matrix, backlog creation, and planning sprints and releases.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ease of adoption and workflow templates/drag and drop and alignment with agile are the best features

Simple One-Platform Solution For Many Users

  • May 01, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy integration into one platform, ability for everyone to access, opportunities to customize. Allows for many individuals to use this platform and access information across a wide variety of projects in one location.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a little bit restricting on the choices for optimization. Also, you can see everyone's work -- while there is an opportunity to select only your work, it opens up some security issues where you can access anybody's work at any time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simple one place solution -- the other platform we were using was always complicated and required a lot of awkward back and forth through emails and our other platform. JIRA allows for everyone to easily login to one place and find all the materials they've been looking for instead of searching through endless amounts of old emails. Moreover, it makes the response process more autonomous as you can automatically select people to notify or watch on projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely recommend for those looking for an easy and simple process where everyone can understand use the platform across a wide variety of locations and job titles. Makes it a one stop shop for campaign management (for the majority overall).

Best in the market for agile projects

  • April 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JIRA is a very good user friendly tool for creating stories/tasks no matter what the team size is. I can write a simple query to run a report what I have done for particular task within a particular time period. Easy to monitor the status of the tasks such as to be started, tasks in progress, build phase, testing, done/delivered. The status report that i send out to my boss can be easily summarized with the help of JIRA. The confluence page in JIRA is great feature(I would call it as wikipedia) to have where each project documents can be saved and accessed by anybody working on the project.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial setting up of the workflow absorbs a lot of time. The search functionality in JIRA is not that great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project Management, issue tracking, succesfull delivery of projects can be one of the top most solutions of using JIRA. The collaboration between the developers, testers, BA, product owners can be dealt on one single platform efficiently.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Without any hesitations or second thought I would recommend JIRA
