Great tool for bug reporting and agile task management
What do you like best about the product?
As a software tester, Jira is so straightforward to use. I'm particularly a fan of Jira Query Language (JQL) which allows you to quickly search for existing tickets across all, or a particular, project without having to use an 'advanced search' page which can be limiting. I've found that the ability to export lists of tickets into CSV format so I can analyze them further has also been greatly helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, figuring out how to view the specifics of projects can be tricky - particularly if you don't have admin visibility.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jira to collaborate as a project team, organize tickets, report and track bugs, and (to a lesser extent) communicate with the customer during the UAT stage.
Great for staying organized and tracking issues.
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy and intuitive to use. Allows for everything from story and epic tracking to test executions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be difficult to add automation to as the api is very difficult and seems to change frequently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Software bug tracking and feature tracking. It allows for releases to be very organized.
Very robust platform
What do you like best about the product?
Jira allows us to manage all of our product development and specific development projects within one single platform. We have multiple projects within each specific product, over 20 developers and Jira provides a great set of features so we can manage all sprints the best way and ensure staff is notified and has the latest updates on each project they're involved in.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's very complex at times. Sometimes finding issues that have been closed or creating a specific report can be quite complicated and not intuitive at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's the internal tool we use to manage all in-house development projects and it's been very successful so far.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Excellent platform, very robust.
Antiquated 1.0 technlogogy in dire need of an overhaul
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create several tasks in one sprint with the same fields filled out
What do you dislike about the product?
Pretty much everything. The layout and design is very antiquated. There are always browser issues (i.e. different display issues depending on which browser). As someone who has been using this for the last 8 years, there is little development or innovation at all that I have seen here.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking both technical product development issues as well as overall team tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look long and hard as this may be overkill for your needs.
Everything software that helps get work done!
What do you like best about the product?
From simple task management to complex projects, JIRA allows users and stakeholders to get exactly that high level “health” of a project without getting into details- unless needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not been a fan of th add-ons- for the most part, they don’t always work so I think the Atlassian crew need to work on that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simple project management but across a team. So dashboards and progress bars go a long way.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely do the trial first and see if it’s a fit for your company and culture.
Project management at your fingertips
What do you like best about the product?
Its intuitive and very easy to learn and use. Great to keep track of features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Rally allows you to pull data out to an excel sheet and I have not found a way to do this in jira.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to track multiple features and their work for a software product for a release.
simple to use
What do you like best about the product?
simple to use...easy inteface and not many clicks are required to do the job get done
What do you dislike about the product?
looks bad somehow ..doesn't look high tech in the world of social media
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
simple to use for bug tracking, stories, run sprints and track it
Powerful tools, powerful (sometimes overwhelming) customizatoin
What do you like best about the product?
Designed for agile development with pre-built boards and intuitive reporting.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be difficult to find how and where to configure settings and workflow, always have to search to figure it out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Product development, time management, and prioritization. We've centralized our bug reporting and incident response into this one, powerful tool. Benefits have included simplifying our tech stack, powerful integrations with our ticketing software (Zendesk) that bring the support team on board, and intuitive visuals such as dashboards, reports, and color coding.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
JIRA has become the industry standard, and for good reason: the workflow engine and agile features make it easy to adopt so long as your company has a vest interest in working with agile (or similar) methods. You can start using the program on day one and customize as you go for greater and greater accuracy.
JIRA is awesome for PMs
What do you like best about the product?
I love how teams and tasks can be managed in JIRA
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more apps for JIRA server and greater integration with Stride
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows me to manage global teams
Does everything we expect and more
What do you like best about the product?
JIRA has all of the expected features we want. I like that the scrum master can load tasks into the current sprint for development. Developers can change and assign tasks to themselves and change the status of each task as it comes closer to beinng completed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The search feature could probably be improved. It doesn't really display the most relevant results for a given search term. Overall though, JIRA works very well and allows everyone in our team to keep track of what everyone is doing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With JIRA, it's been easier for us to manage projects and tasks. We also find have found it easy to interact with one another to help make our projects successful and done on time. One other great thing about JIRA is that we can customize fields based on our unique requirements.
