Excellent Issue Tracking product
What do you like best about the product?
The issue tracker and bug reporting functionality is very easy to use
What do you dislike about the product?
JIRA has been very slow on our computers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Issue analysis and bug tracking.
JIRA was a great tool for quickly reviewing and auditing work performed within an organization.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the idea of managing data in this way. In the QA field, writing reports about work completed helps developers understand their place in a development cycle. It also helps fellow QA figure out where they should focus their future testing.
What do you dislike about the product?
JIRA was a tad complicated and took a few months to master some of the most basic features, including: parent tasks, sub-tasks, cloning, deleting, and converting tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JIRA can serve as hive mind of sorts, where all employees involved on a project input their discoveries for all others to share.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider instructing employees thoroughly before they begin using JIRA for their tasks. JIRA can be confusing and there are permissions that may make it possible for anyone to accidentally ruin several hours of work that has already been completed. I have seen this happen on previous teams.
Powerful tool, steep learning curve
What do you like best about the product?
I am able to track projects in great detail and collaborate with others.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are too many features that my team doesn't use so it makes it intimidating for new users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to manage projects in a collaborative environment.
Great for alignment across the team
What do you like best about the product?
Use JIRA across both business and technical teams. Great to align the team on our roadmap, current tasks, and levels of priority.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a way to create deadlines for subtasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Product management, project management, road mapping, feature prioritization, collaboration
Detailed tracking for defects and stories
What do you like best about the product?
Highly customizable fields, easy integration in to Kanban-style or Agile teams. Markdown support. Easy linking with other Atlassian products like Bitbucket, where you can just mention the ticket number in the PR title and it gets hot linked to the story/defect.
What do you dislike about the product?
Search can be made user friendly. Older version of Jira had a better search filtering UX. More intelligent Label creation process - Many times we end up with duplicate labels created by different users with minor differences ("MONITOR" vs "monitor"). So maybe a way to identify similar pre-existing labels can eliminate duplicates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking dev progress, bug fixes, QA and release notes.
One tool to track the complete project
What do you like best about the product?
JIRA is a great tool to track the feature development and bug tracking
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike but I felt the workflow options are bit confusing at times.. I know it is configurable too ..
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One page show case to business to track the complete applicaiton
Useful product for teams
What do you like best about the product?
Workflow management is nice and easy to setup, Kanban boards are great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of really easy to follow guides or templates for getting super simple workflows setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task management, project management.
On the right path but should improve performance and user experience
What do you like best about the product?
it has multiple pre-configured boards to visualize performance and share across org that is really good.
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn't have mechanism to handle many things at user or admin level hence too much centralized with sys admin which is certainly a pain to deal with
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trying to use it in place of physical boards though it's in use for sometime still to be fully familiarized by teams
Jira
What do you like best about the product?
I can track defects and user stories, and project management functions.
What do you dislike about the product?
You cannot tie in Epics to another Epic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Create user stories and issues, plan sprints, and distribute tasks across your software team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It improves the team performance based on real-time, visual data .
JIRA for Globally Distributed Teams
What do you like best about the product?
I love the way JIRA can be used for enabling the Global Delivery Model with multiple teams working in multiple time zones towards a common goal.
What do you dislike about the product?
Again, this is a personal taste. But I don’t find the UI of the tool appealing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Global Delivery Enabler. We are assigning and tracking the tasks through JIRA and collaborating through the tool. The benefits are reduced overhead meetings for handover.
