Lots of features, but not very intuitive

  • July 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira gives the user a lot of freedom to customize according to what works best for your team
What do you dislike about the product?
There's definitely a learning curve/time required to get accustomed to the software. Search, for example, is pretty difficult if you don't know the exact ticket number you're looking for, or if you mistake which board the story you're looking for is on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
communication between different web development teams (front end, devops, etc), especially on epics that require effort from multiple teams.

What do you like best about the product?
Jira, the platform that most adapted to what we are looking for, the application that gave us the greatest security so far. Jira belongs to that select group of software that makes it continue to be used, keep updating and keep growing with them.

+ Jira has particular characteristics that provide a tangible investment and investment of time and resources of each participant of the team.

+ Jira supports the current methodologies of development and planning, which are clearly agile, oriented to the use of each resource to maximize productivity.

+ Jira has allowed us to achieve comfort to create a filter when generating reports, search for outstanding customer's tickets, direct and effective communication for the attention of incidents and improvement reports.

+ You can create new add-ons and configure Jira in the style of each work rhythm, all under an impeccable visual frame with security and good load balance before all requests.
What do you dislike about the product?
- It is important to know that Jira gives us great support to the user, and their attention is a priority, but many times they do not guess the problem. It is an element to review in Atlassian.

- The introduction to Jira's world is expected to be as magical as its interface and performance. The truth is that it is complex to build filters and move around in the application when the user is new.

- You want to run a correct download of the reports at the end of the month or at the end of the week, the reports are delivered in spreadsheets, but with a presentation that leaves much to be desired, in turn, when setting the dates they should have more or less days so you can perform the download correctly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira helps us in:

+ Monitoring of incidents and improvements provided by the client, we elaborated a plan based on what we are informed by email.

+ Ability to add comments, attachments, images, tangible evidence when an incident is reported.

+ Division of projects, some of them focused on business management and others on the follow-up of process development.

+ All the equipment within the application, being productive and contributing its grain of sand so that in the end it is reflected in the reports that Jira generates and has contributed a great productivity.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The use of Jira gave us a better perspective of the project, it led us to track, inform hours and manage incidents and customer improvements with more success than ever.

I recommend Jira when the project is based on a true Ágile planning methodology and when the team is really committed to doing a good job, and that their performance speaks for itself, as is our case.

I recommend those companies that have not yet implemented an application to track incidents and project management as a whole, to do so and start and end with Jira.

We use JIRA for all of our marketing ops tasks

  • July 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use and ability to create a Kanban board has worked for us very ewell. We use it across our marketing ops team to keep track of everything and make sure it's all up to speed. We also use it across our creative and other teams. The best feature is its ease of use.
What do you dislike about the product?
It gets a little difficult to manage when going cross-functional. You can't really tie/tag from different projects/workspaces/boards, so that has been a little confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keep marketing tasks operationally in line and tie in other cross-functional teams and keep people in the loop. It has served us well.

Jira manages our Agile environment well!

  • July 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira makes it easy to maintain current efforts and work in our backlog and allows our team to collaborate and communicate effectively and efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a product owner, the only ask I'd make is for Jira to make it easier to identify potential work priorities beyond a simple backlog prioritization. Sometimes I need to consider timelines (even though they supposedly don't exist...they do at times!) or feature sets that need to follow other work and it's challenging to visualize this simply with backlog prioritization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing an Agile based software team.

Good cloud option from Atlassian but needs improvements

  • July 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that JIRA is very easy to use but also find it's integration with Confluence and performance speeds to be poor.
What do you dislike about the product?
Performance speeds and lack of integrations with Confluence
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ticketing is obviously handled but Kanban and other Agile tracking is also helpful
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Please improve integrations and performance of the interface

Great for both small and large projects

  • July 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It works great to keep an accurate tracking of a project's progress. The good thing is you can start creating tickets without too much details, and start adding complexity to the project as you get comfortable with the app.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has a learning curve, it's not that intuitive at first. It would be better if it had a native way of tracking hours, the external apps are not great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Keeping a close tracking of a project status
- Tracking hours and
- Doing performance reports
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Despite it can be hard to use at first, once you're using it you'll hardly switch to something else.

A solid product management tool that continues to improve

  • July 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the simplicity of project management features like creating epics, stories, and tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Navigation to specific settings or actions can be a bit challenging. Oftentimes, certain actions should be prominent in the navigation but are buried in a sub-navigation menu.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Product management and team collaboration.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have an owner of the JIRA implementation. It's important to decide up-front which project management methodologies you want to use and to define all of your user journeys before implementing.

Trusted project management and collaboration tool

  • July 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JIRA is ideal for teams which are working on different geographical locations(We have IOS and Android apps for easy connectivity). It also works well for teams which are working on complex projects which requires a strong streak of communication within teams. It comes with easy deployment options as well. Easy monitoring of project velocity through user points.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are many management tools open sourced out there. But JIRA is commercialized. Also while commenting on some user story or bugs the formatting toolbar is not very user friendly. it takes up lot of time to properly format your responses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As It makes the whole process transparent to everyone, Everyone can see any potential delays within the project. Our managers are using it to monitor the issues and we are using it as an everyday tool to keep everyone informed about the work we did and whether or not we require any support. It comes handy in proper communication as our teams are working in complete different timezones. Also comes to rescue when an individual is having issues, they can post their issues documents in attachments which helps a lot to developers to understand
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have large number of people working at distributed places in your teams, use this tool. A small communication gap can create much chaos.
