Real-Time Insights, Automatic Discovery: Powered by IBM Instana
What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate IBM Instana’s ability to provide real-time, automatic insights, which is incredibly beneficial for monitoring and observability of application performance. Its automatic discovery of services and instant mapping are remarkable, as they allow me to see exactly where problems start without having to dig through dashboards. The mix of automation, clear visualization, and fast root-cause detection is a major strength. The initial setup is generally smooth and quick, with agents automatically discovering services. The platform's ability to offer faster automatic service discovery, real-time tracing, and easier root-cause analysis compared to our previous tool, New Relic, prompted our switch to IBM Instana. Additionally, it integrates well alongside other tools I use, such as Splunk, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and cloud platforms like AWS, ensuring a cohesive workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that the UI can feel crowded, especially when dealing with large complex environments, which slows me down during urgent troubleshooting. Additionally, setting up custom metrics requires more effort than the automated parts, creating a bit of friction.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IBM Instana provides real-time monitoring and observability, allowing me to track application performance, quickly detect issues, and understand service interactions in complex environments with ease. It excels in automating discovery, root-cause analysis, and offering clear visualizations, boosting troubleshooting efficiency.
Real-Time Monitoring with Seamless Setup
What do you like best about the product?
I find IBM Instana incredibly valuable for monitoring applications, specifically for its observability features. I appreciate not having to manually check the status of each resource, as IBM Instana allows for direct monitoring, streamlining my workflow. The real-time data insights provided by IBM Instana are outstanding, offering me immediate understanding and visibility into system performance. I am particularly impressed with the smart alert system, which notifies me instantly if a resource is critically damaged, allowing me to take swift action. This feature makes it especially useful at the production level. The faster deployment capabilities of IBM Instana are another aspect that I love, as it enhances the efficiency of our operations. I also find the setup process to be smooth, thanks to the helpful documentation, which meant there were no hiccups during the installation. Overall, IBM Instana's smart alerts, real-time insights, and ease of setup make it an essential tool for me in maintaining and overseeing application performance.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to install and integrate to existing as well as new technologies. The way they have quickly added agentic AI capabilkities.

Comprehensive and so does have a learning curve.

What do you like best about the product?
I that the we can see all the elements involved in a petition from the origin to the destination, help to detect if the some failure in a component, some years ago that was possible , from messaging perspective it is very useful as when something is failing the first assumption is middleware products like MQ series, and the problem is other component.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think we need to improve the part related with configuration, some cases the suggestions provided by the IBM instructions the files to configure are not available or were changed to other link and take more time to complete de configurations.

make more easy the configuration.

What do you like best about the product?
I had used the IBM instana, it was great experience and the services and working approach they are using is best and I would like to say, they can explore in technical field like services, torbuleshooting steps etc. Rest part are fantastic.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hmm, sometimes due to some deep technical issue, service delayed, need to improve.

It solved many problems with IBM instana.

not so much beginner friendly, and the pricing also bit more for new or small users, sometimes customization require extra technical knowledge
