Great for whiteboarding & collaboration

  • July 13, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Miro is that it allows me to work collaboratively with my colleagues and partners to map concepts, ideas, and projects. We are able to visually map a discussion and have an output to guide continual discussions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Miro does have many templates, so at first, it can be a little difficult to decipher the best templates for your use cases. After time and testing different templates, you find what you like and what is useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is easy to have discussions and not track opinions, thoughts and ideas or do so through boring meeting notes. Miro allows tracking to be fun, exciting, visual and provides a space for all to engage in active collaboration around projects, goal setting, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider Miro for collaborative mapping work! It is free to sign up, so test it out today!

Best collaborative online workshop tool

  • July 13, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Amidst the Pandemic, Miro has become our go-to tool to conduct online workshops with our clients, featuring 20-30 participants. I like that the design is it's quite simple and intuitive to use and has all the functionally for a workshop (and they keep on adding to it). We started using it for Journey Mapping workshops but have since used it for various other occasions. Interactions with the support staff were also of good quality. They were very fast to respond and address your questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are still some functionality improvements that can be made but I see that they are introducing new features almost daily. For example, yesterday I found myself trying to make the size of existing shapes to be identical but couldn't do it so I put a new shape and started from scratch. There was also some limitation to the number of votes people could get and a few other small things. I felt the support team was not that eager to learn about those but as I said they are making daily improvements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Conducting a remote collaborative workshop. It's perfect for our needs. There are of course many other uses for it i.e. Journey Mapping, mind mapping, process-visualizations and you name it...

Extremely versatile piece of kit

What do you like best about the product?
It's incredibly easy to collaborate on pages with your team, which is great for me because my startup is made up of my two co-founders and I; they both live in Birmingham while I live in London. It has also helped me to map out the key priorities for me as head of the business. It's great to have an infinite amount of space to work with to help get everything out of my head and down in front of me!
What do you dislike about the product?
There are probably a lot of great use cases for Miro which haven't been highlighted enough. If they were then I could stop using other tools and bring more of the companies operations into one place.

Another thing that I dislike is that some of the templates aren't flexible enough. For example, the mind map template is a little bit clunky when trying to organize all the different strands of the map. You can't make the subject of a strand very close to that of another strand and you end up with a mind map which is very spaced out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're a remote start-up (we all work in different locations), so Miro has made it possible for us to collaborate and plan out long-term strategies without needing to be in the same room. Having this kind of flexibility is so crucial in the modern environment, and I've not found a tool that has helped us to collaborate more than Miro.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you make the most of it and look through all the templates for inspiration on how to best use the tool!

Intuitive and versatile whiteboard solution

  • July 08, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the flexibility of Miro. It has proven very useful in running and documenting workshops, making todo-lists, visualizing and analyzing qualitative research data etc. I also like the fact that it's easy to import stuff from other software (like excel). If you need to use it with people who are not familiar with it, it's pretty easy to get started too, so no big introductions needed. FOrmatting is easy and the UI general has a very nice balance in terms of extensiveness and simplicity.
What do you dislike about the product?
For me, more extensive exporting functionalities would be very beneficial. However, so far I've been able to make workarounds to manage this. I would also like a bit more AI to the use logic, where the solution would analyze the patterns I'm making in terms of formatting, so that I would not need to conduct so much manual formatting. Further, when you have a very high amount of users on a single board (we use it to run over 150 student university courses for example), things can get messy pretty quickly. More options in terms of determining user rights would be useful here. Also, things can get difficult if you are a member in many teams in different organizations (under different licenses basically). Then you have to manually enter passwords etc., which gets pretty cumbersome fast.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro helps in dealing with the lack of f2f interaction that we're experiencing right now due to covid. It's been great for research activities but also teaching. We use it to work with companies, in our internal project work I'm pretty sure we'll keep using it when things get to normal. Digital whiteboarding is here to stay.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My general advice would be to just try it out if you have any tasks that relate to running virtual workshops or thinking visually.

Engagement Boost with Intuitive Design

  • June 30, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like Miro's design and the way they constantly implement new features. I find value in the community around Miro, which offers lots of different widgets, tools, and templates that I can use. I appreciate that they are always evolving. Learning from the community's templates and creating my own helps me structure my knowledge and build a library for future workshops and scenarios.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's one thing that sometimes doesn't work well: when new participants join my board during a webinar, especially if they have never used Miro before. Although they don't need to register, sometimes Miro prompts them to register, which can confuse them. They get lost and don't know what to do, so they can't enter. This creates some frustration at the beginning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Miro to keep remote participants engaged and create artifacts during virtual workshops, allowing them to have something tangible to refer back to.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I have started to use Miro with its free plan and it was then when I realized that I can use it for my business. So using it for free gives the taste of the platform.

Do you miss the physical whiteboard when you are in remote training or workshops? Try Miro!

  • June 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Infinitive whiteboard. +25 people are working simultaneously. Connection with Jira and confluence. Access to edit to all participants without the need to buy a licence for each one. Drag and drop of videos and pictures.
What do you dislike about the product?
The usage of frameworks is not flexible. I have tried using the roadmap framework, but I can not change the text size, for example. It happens with all frameworks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As trainer and coach, I perform workshops and need to work with others with giant whiteboards. We do not have a whiteboard now; then, we use Miro to solve the problem. Other problems we solve are timekeeping, comments, voting, estimating, etc. Miro give the opportunity to make the event interactive and full of life.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When you deliver training or workshop and there are participants with no experience with Miro, add an ice breaker exercise in Miro to allow them to understand how to use it.

Intuitive, Versatile but slower loading on larger diagrams

  • June 15, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love Miro's intuitive nature that made setting it up easy without much training. I appreciate its ease of use, allowing me to effortlessly share diagrams globally and streamline my discussions by converting complex ideas into visuals quickly. The integrated search helps find necessary resources like icons and pictures effortlessly. I also value how Miro stays ahead by recreating components, offering excellent price-to-value.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that it is lacking some speed now and then, especially on larger diagrams. Additionally, i had an issue when components were all linked and start resizing and moving all together, which seems to require optimization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Miro to translate words into visuals, saving time and facilitating clear communication. It allows me to share diagrams globally with ease, enabling immediate discussions on actual issues rather than lengthy explanations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dont think to long about added value vs cost. Try it and find out if it works for you and your teams.

A powerful space for any task

  • June 10, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is a core tool in our collaborative workspace, supporting both online and in-person sessions. We use it extensively for design discovery, with a dedicated discovery template that allows each designer or Product Owner to quickly kick-start a project. This approach ensures consistency across teams while still giving the flexibility to adapt and expand using Miro’s vast canvas.

Its built-in tools integrate seamlessly into our workflow, helping us capture ideas, structure projects, and accelerate delivery. The balance of structure and freedom makes Miro an essential part of our design process, enabling collaboration at speed and scale.
What do you dislike about the product?
While project grouping helps, keeping boards organised at the top level remains difficult. Navigation feels unruly, and it can be challenging to quickly locate the right board. There are tools to organise better, but I feel they could implement a journey to help with this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our use of Miro centres on tackling design problems. We start by defining the problem, gathering input and resources, then wireframing and displaying the design outcomes. The tool makes it easy to show our process clearly—from early frames through to final UI.

A key benefit is the ability to keep previous designs and iterations on the board. This not only helps us tell the design story later but also allows us to revisit ideas that may have been overlooked. Stakeholders can review and contribute asynchronously, meaning discussions and feedback aren’t limited to a single meeting.

One of the most valuable aspects for us has been writing and refining user stories directly in Miro. This collaborative process enables the team to shape both the problem and the solutions together, which has been hugely effective.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get people onboarded with something fun, like a good retrospective. But I think people will come to the platform naturally, It's just got the tools you need to think in a space.

Miro is a great tool for sharing ideas and collaborating with your team.

  • June 08, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is easy to use and extremely effective when it comes to bringing your thoughts and ideas to life. It makes it fun to work with a team whether you are planning sprints, project timelines, or hosting a brainstorming session.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the MindMapping function. It was a bit hard to use compared to LucidChart.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro makes it easy to visualize and compare designs across multiple campaigns. You can import from multiple different sources and it makes it easy to download and export your creations. It is also easy to create shareable links with others, so they can view, comment, or edit what you've created.

    Management Consulting

An absolute must in your toolbox

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to set up and facilitate workshops. Miro is also very useful to secure ideas and work them out. What I love the most, is that you can create boards with all kinds of inspiration, canvases, plans of action, and so on, and share it with others.
What do you dislike about the product?
Folders don't have a link (you can't link to folders) and you can't add (little) text documents.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organize workshops and secure ideas. For this last one, the ideas, the benefit is that you can place images, video's, PDF, bookmarkts and ideas on post-its all toghether. Too bad there is not a really good way to stoer advanced notes (for documentation).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
